Try experimenting with graphite powder next, for interesting effect as it the piece of clothing was rubbing against metal for a while. And sprinkling baking soda for an added "grit grain" on black. Oil stains I use plain glycerin dropped in certain areas! :D
I have a black jacket I wear to work. It is tough material but quite old. I tried to get it back to black at one point and failed. That colour change in the vid is perfect for the fade that happens. If you can't do manual labour in dirt for 16 years to get the effect then this will look basically the same.
you make this look so easy. thank you for showing us. I have a question, you showed us all the filming dust at the end. What do people use to make the white look? It does not look like paint. Any help would be great and helpful. Thank you
the final one, kind of, cuz it has a buttload of dirt on it + leaves stencil haha. honestly though, both final-final, and the darker one before stencil, where i wrote on the screen that its sufficient, look fine. which one to do depends on taste etc.. anything less than the "before stencil" one though will look too new on photos.
i guess sumn liek "film theatre movie costume distressing weathering dust"? i dont know :D there is "schmere" brand in canada and i think also in US, "patina" brand in EU (NOT sponsored, just the two brands i know - there is likely more). good luck!
I'm surprised at how similar this looks to my real distressed black clothes

What would your approach be for a post-apoc drum kit?
Love this video, thank you very, very mych. Can you also use acrilyc paints instead of cloding paint?
Thankyou!!
What is the first tool called??
What ratio or dilution did you use for the paint? I'm using acrylic paint and attempting to weather a mando flight suit.
Great job 👍🏻
Remember, everything needs googly eyes
would it be possible to use Acrylic Paint on clothes? will this survive the washing machine? thank you very much for your videos, they help a lot
in my experience yes, for a while they will survive. but unsurprisingly, fabric paint is better for sticking to fabric.
Welche Stoffarben benutzt du?
I love it!
Nice video ! Thanks ! What are you using to apply the powder at around the 13min mark ?
its Mr. Bee.. my duster bulb, or bulb duster, whichever way around ^^

@@NuclearSnailStudios found it, thanks a lot
What type of wire brush are you using ? I can't seem to find one that has the points like that and normal wire brushes don't seem to work as well.
It's a dance shoe brush :)
