I'm in a wheelchair (quadriplegic spinal cord injury some 40yrs ago) I was actually going in the draft back in 1982 as a 6'4 ,195-200 lefty batting outfielder. I was only 17 when I had a car accident that that left me this way.
I own an Xbox series X and I never could play MLB the show at all so I used to play an arcade style game called "super mega baseball 2 and 3" which were very enjoyable until MLB finally came to Xbox.
I fell in love with the graphics and this was the closest I'll over her to feeling like I'm playing real baseball again. I know it sounds crazy but it's so true...
I have problems as I can't really use my fingers so I kind of place my palm on the joysticks. I'll never be as great as YOU are on a competitive level but I kind of like playing franchise mode with my CUBS and going online to play too.
I have a hard time using strike zone so I'll usually use strike zone 3 or even offset zoom on MLB 22.
With MLB 23 just coming out they've changed offset zoom so much it's impossible to use
Right now I'm trying to use strike zone 3 or just plain zoom when batting. Do you ever switch to another batting camera angle? Also, I'm only using all-star mode right now too.
The game is so entertaining and I'm so glad it made its way over to Xbox series X...
I'm lucky I can even play with this type of injury but as a 57yr old guy, even my girlfriend gets a kick out of just watching the game. I've had family friends walk in and think I was watching a real game.. lol
I bet next year they're really going to overhaul the engine because they'll no longer have to worry about making the game for the old Xbox etc
This game has looked next generation in a way already. It's just really nailing down their faces and getting rid of those dead shark eyes everyone has.. lol

I play the game on an LG 77 inch C1 OLED screen and it looks amazing. I know it's all timing and PCI placement, but I'm glad I can still play ..

I’m definitely no AJ but I can say that I have personally never switched my pitching and hitting cameras once I found something I could consistently hit with. The same goes with hitting and pitching inputs. It’s all about finding what works for you. Also just wanted to say that I’m terribly sorry to hear what happened to you, and to stay strong man.

Sometimes, I'll use zoom just to see my whole batter. It sure keeps me going since I really should have been out there playing for REAL many years ago.. This is the most fun a guy in his 50's can have with a baseball simulation.
I'm still trying to figure out what the difference is between " competitive" and " simulation" when I'm just having fun playing an exhibition game between me and the CPU? 😁

@@nhernan156 No problem man, to be honest I’m not quite sure what the difference is either, but I think it may just be a difficulty slider as if you were playing like a ranked game of DD for example. Sim just makes it feel more like a real game of baseball and Comp makes it feel more like a online game with online settings and stuff. If you’re just playing causally and not really into the competitive aspect I’d say stick with simulation 👍🏼.

Thanks for the tips man. You got me using the kontrol freak sticks and I love it. I use both the high and low on both sticks because I have really large hands. High stick for hitting and low stick for pitching. Definitely helped my game. The kontrol freak rings show up today I'm going to try those out.

I know what he means when he is talking about a timing mechanism. For me at least it’s more about loosening the tension on the joystick right before the pitch so it’s easier to move.

I have a lot of trouble with very low pitches and very high pitches the most. I feel like the high ones are going to drop and then don't and the low ones look like fastballs to me and then they aren't. Everything else I'm getting pretty good at but sometimes I swing wildly at completely shitty pitches.

I find going for a walk or getting outside for like 30 min before i play helps me focus.

@littlemann17 what do you recommend for someone playing who doesn't have custom practice available to them? I play on MLB 16 and I've found that I'm not great at PCI placement and timing (consistently late in reacting. Most of my hits are just late), So last night I just started working in the Bat Control practice mode to work on my pitch tracking and timing. Once I'm pretty good at that (I practice on Legend difficulty) I'll switch to Plate Discipline and Good At-Bat modes.
Tips for sure appreciate it now im on a streak of 7 games

Hey AJ, I have a question regarding where you look when your hitting? I have trouble seeing the ball, which is why I feel i’m late a lot. Do you stare at their glove? Their head? Their hand?

The edge controller is the shit. I don't like the bat either. Covers up too much of the plate. I only use the altitude marker. Having a motion for timing is critical.
