I read The Pearl That Broke Its Shell by Nadia Hashimi in May, and I loved it. It's the only book I've given 5 stars to this year. I also have 2 more of her books to read.
It’s fun to discover new authors. I want to read If We Were Villians. 😊 Authors that I discovered this year (books I read) and plan to read more include: Brom (Slewfoot), Ania Ahlborn (The Shuddering), Blake Crouch (Dark Matter), Philip Fracassi (Boys in the Valley), and Lindsay Currie (Scritch Scratch). 📚
I love questions like this. Here is a quick list of new-to-me-authors who knocked my socks off: Rachel Linden (magical realism) Tessa Afshar (Christian Fiction) Steve Sheinkin (he can write anything and I will read it. I read 4 of his books in the last year and they were all fantastic.) Lily Chu Ellery Adams Jason Reynolds (poet) Linda Holmes (Evie Drake Starts Over was amazing 5 stars) (Flying Solo was 4 stars) Jake Burt (Middle grade…wonderful)
I know you also like historical history. I read When the World Fell Silent by Donna Jones Alward. She has other books but I am hoping she write more HF. This is based on an event in Halifax, Canada that happened during WWI. I had never heard of it and it was a great read😊
Hi to my Kpop buddy! Have you seen that Jin from BTS has new music out? Omg!! Loving it!😘 I discovered Alex Finlay last month and read back to back everything he has out.
Hi Terry! You'll be happy to know I've been listening to BTS lately and I've discovered I'm a Jimin girl. I really like ON, Run and Idol. I'm definitely planning to listen to Jin's music. And I just scored tickets to see Stray Kids next year and I'm so excited!!!
@SarahsNightstand Yes, Jimin is something special! His voice and dancing...wow! They all are so awesome . I go down the BTS rabbit hole more than I want to admit! So cool you got tickets, how fun!!
Starter Villian was so, so funny! I loved it. 🎉
This is a fun way to discover new authors!! I haven’t heard of a few of them! And OMG and new ML Rio 🎉❤
Last year I read Starter Villain and Vera Wong, and loved them both. They were easily in my top 10 - you have a treat coming in them!
I just added If We Were Villains to my TBR! I see you are getting close to 10000 subscribers. How Exciting!🎉
A new Mulan retelling?!
Say no more! **immediately adds to TBR** 😁
I'm looking forward to Linda Holmes' new book. I agree with what you said - I appreciate that her characters are fully-formed adults.
