    3:27 Una pequeña aclaración before our dear peruvian brothers get mad and insane at this: Parihuela is indeed a peruvian dish. Our version of seafood soup / chowder is called 'sopa marinera' found throughout the ecuadorian coast. As any border territory, there's many dishes and ingredients shared at every side of the frontier. Just like in Tumbes and Piura (Perú) they eat as much chifles and plantain products as the whole Ecuador, unlike the rest of Perú where its consumption is less common. They also prepare many plantain dishes in Loreto, the biggest peruvian departamento bordering Ecuador by the amazon. Being this said, it's true about the quality of our fish and seafood. I've got many contacts in Peru (including an ex) and everytime he came to visit Ecuador, their family always told him to have as much seafood as posible, because they appreciate a lot its world known quality. Hopefully one day we will also be recognised by our amazing-but-unknown cuisine! Greetings from Quito!

    Ceviche is one of my fave foods...my first-tried version, and my preferred one, is the Yucatecan... fish of the day into cubes, marinated in lime... onions in lime separately, both brained and put into fresh lime juice with minced habanero and tomato... tortilla chips on the side. I look forward to making my own after I get moved as well as try the local versions!

    Hi @Ayngelina I've been watching your great Ecuador vids for preparing to travel to Ecuador this month(so exciting). So I have a question about traveling back to the US. Do I need to take the covid test prior entering the US or not. If yes where should I get it in Quito?
    Thank you so much.

      How exciting! So I am Canadian but had a layover in the US and had to get a PCR test and I am pretty sure that you'll need to get one to return as well. There are TONS of places where you can get one done in Quito. But I was just looking on the Ecuador government's site for approved places because you have to be vaccinated AND get a PCR test for the Galapagos and here is the site : www.calidadsalud.gob.ec/acess-app-servicio-ciudadano/public/covid19/informacionCovid19.jsf

      @@ayngelina I have 1 more question for you please. I've been searching the weather in november in ecuador(I'll be traveling in quito,banos and papallacta 22-29Nov). Is it worth to visit during that time since the weather says it will be a lot of rain?
      Thank you so much again.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  3 роки тому +1

      @@plabuanoo3701 of course happy to help! So in Ecuador you always need to have a rain jacket on you. It doesn't matter when you go. But I find it doesn't rain until the afternoon and rain doesn't mean it will rain every day or all afternoon. For what it's worth I'll be around those areas too and the weather isn't really a factor. Just bring warm clothes and a light rain jacket. Even on the sunniest and brightest days I throw my rain jacket in my bag and I'm always shocked how often I need it.

We have our own seafood chowder (sopa marinera) and crab soup (caldo de cangrejo).
