Taoist Priest in Prayer-(Inspired by, “Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio”) For Piano Solo

This is my piece, “Taoist Priest in Prayer”… it was inspired by the collection of mystical stories entitled, “Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio” by Pu Songling. I adore these stories and from these pages came this music. There is a true sense of struggle here… perhaps the Taoist priest is in the process of meeting with the divine found deep within… but it is necessary to purge all the distractions in order to find that piece of eternal beauty.
