The Doppelganger Detection Department (D.D.D.) needs you!
There is a vacancy for the doorman position in your building and since you need the money and can't find a job you have no choice.
It's 1955 and for unknow reasons doppelganers are more common than normal, so the D.D.D. has taken action on the matter.
Your job will be to allow or deny the entry of the subjects who request entry to the building, it seems easy, but be careful, you can't overlook any detail because you could be food for doppelgangers.

I once caught Lillith for having no earrings, but she said she left them at home so I trusted her… turns out she was a doppelgänger, not because she didn’t have the earrings, but because she had the wrong chin 💀

I had a similar situation. BUT she was correct, and she said that the ear rings were left at home. I called to check with the sister... and she wasn't home at all either. I let her in, but she was real.
Aside from the wrong chin, did you try calling the sister?

In arcade mode, they give you layups by showing an abomination. Nightmare mode should toss in a normal human here and there.
The eyebrow change on Ana was really hard to see. Would be easier to spot if the pictures in the folder weren’t so small.

@@cheesecake1255because of the photos were clearer and bigger the gameplay would be over way too fast as well as it would be too easy to beat. Normal mode is definitely super easy but nightmare mode is supposed to be for experienced players and it’s supposed to be super hard and challenging

I found that if you call the DDD on the clown and let the dialogue run, the clown still kills the DDD agent and comes back but disappears after saying let's clear the table. The screen door comes down and ends the round so you can bypass the RNG game

@@bobba_cake2371 The clown only comes out after all the tenants have been vetted. Just click No, press the alarm, call the DDD, and let the dialogue complete. The clown then holds up the DDD agent's head and leaves the screen. The clown comes back to say let me clear the table but disappears mid sentence. The screen door comes down and you pass the level safely.

This game would go so hard as a narrative, choice based game. I know everyone thinks of Telltale, but a better example for having mechanics more like "sit in place and characters come to you, but how you treat them changes the outcome" is Red Strings Club. Imagine if you built up a rapport with your neighbors, and then started to get suspicious of them for certain reasons, like maybe one day Peachpeach is acting ruder to his brother and you start to wonder if he's a doppelganger - and you can choose to report him off that suspicion. Then he's permanently gone, and the plot is changed because of that, regardless of he's a doppelganger or not.
There's so much potential in stories like this. That's why Body Snatchers and The Thing are well known, and are actually adaptations of OTHER stories.
The concept of imposter invasions are so good lmao. I hope that games like this lead to more games and stories with similar ideas.
And DieDevDie is my fave UA-camr to watch for this because he has a really great demeanor and voice. Not over the top energetic, not completely silent. A great kind of gamer for this kind of game.
Honestly this is a great idea, there's so much story potential with this unique cast of characters and I feel like it would also make the game feel less repetitive

These nightmares really don't like small talk.
Not with disgusting, peasant humans like ourselves.
As a challenge, how about trying to handicap yourself by only being able to use one single way + muscle memory on the appearances to try & indentify neighbors, like only being able to use the phone to call their appartments & not being allowed to compare their faces to documents or ID & vice versa.. Maybe also do a "speed-run" where you only let dopplegangers in.

In all honesty, the best way to succeed is to thoroughly review the wiki. Once you have memorized each neighbor's flaws, it effectively becomes a game of memory.
However, if you're talking about the clown part, then yea, You're right. That's completely luck. It is fairly annoying

The problem with the first fake Drugia (14:00) was the nose, a horizontal line where there wasn't supposed to be one.
I still conceptually hate the Clown. If I were playing this personally it'd very much ruin Nightmare Mode for me.

I forgot to say something in the recent video of the nightmare mode when a face appeared on the wall. I'm sure you now know that face appears the first time when you kill one real neighbor. If you kill 2 of them i think that face will kill you with a jumpscare too
yesterday i played that's not my neighbor at like 11:00 pm and i was TERRIFIED that i would get a really creepy one. Ofc, only like 2 seconds later i get the one with all the holes in his face :)

I want a game like this for training at work. Have to spot right and wrong details and a lot of people have been failing at that and causing errors. Something like this would help with retraining.
My first runs with this mode were dismal. But then again, I was not entirely awake. Missed details like the spiral in the hands of one, the fake DDD logo on another, and the expiration date on a third. On my fourth one (beat the Nightmare on it), I almost let one slip until I noticed that Exael had human teeth.

The dopple drugia's nose was connected on the bottom. Her nostrils normally lead down to that lip valley
Her eyebrows are half circles, the doppelganger's right eyebrow was more of a line than anything else
The first doppleganger Drugia has two subtle mistakes. The first one is her nose, which is dev was correct for observing that mistake, the second mistake is that the fake Drugia wore earrings! We do know that the real Drugia forgot her earrings at home, and the fake Drugia wore earrings! In the second fake Drugia, the mistake is that, again, she wore her earrings!

So i have a theory, in the original mode Anastacha was in Nacha's apartment and now in nigthmare mode Anastacha is in Milkman's apartment,and Anastacha kinda looked like the Milkman. so my theory is what if Milkman and Nacha was in a relationship/married and then when they had Anastascha they broke up/divorce.

iunno about Ana's brows. feels kinda lame to fail for not noticing something 5-10% smaller/larger than a 2x3 pic. there's subtle details like reverse marks n stuff but pixel sizing isn't good gameplay
