- IDF Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner says Hamas began the war in Israel and it is Hamas which is “paying dearly” for their decision to attack.
“It was indeed Hamas that started the war and it is Hamas that is paying dearly for the bad, poor decisions they decided to attack Israel,” Mr Lerner said.
“When politicians around the world can’t realise … our democracy in Israel is under threat from external players such as Hamas, or Hezbollah and Iran, then we need to rally around those under threat.”
