    For future buyers it's a consideration between saving money (Formbot: wiring/crimping) or build convenience (LDO is prepared for almost "plug'n'play").
    And don't forget: The parts of both kits could be subject for changes. Above all: Formbot changes the parts of their kits very often!

    Great review! It's fascinating how little impact the highflow variant had on print speed. I'm sure that can be improved as in the 247 V0 and it proves that upgrading the hotend is mostly useless without other upgrades to compliment. Thanks for the effort you put into this video!

    As You mentioned volume flow and acceleration are the only two parameters limiting fast printing. Transforming volume flow into printing speed is sub optimal as modern slicers can varies the width of the print line and you need to do pointless calculations depending of your height & width. it is better to have a setting of volume flow in the slicer and no speed limit. To my knowledge as of today only Prusa slicer is able to do that. I had hopes that Cura V5 would implement it but apparently it is not there. in fact if we go in the details of the physics there would be two values of max flow a max continuous which the one that everybody is testing, and a max burst, when you have been in low flow for a while due to cornering or travel, there for a maximum volume of the melt chamber you can deliver higher volume flow. I have not seen anyone mention that up to now even though this is for me the way forward.

    • @247printing
      @247printing  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, Prusa Slicer can set flow limits and you are fine here. Simplify3D was a bad decision to use as I actually HAD a lot to calculate 👍 But: I did not use/need any variable layer lines here in order to “simplify” the point of all this: It’s very helpful (even mandatory?) to know your extrusion rates by material. on capable DIY printers you can translate them into printing speed. In the future I’ll not use Simplify3D (V4) for these kinds of tests anymore, but it was valid and viable here. I thought about mentioning my calculation efforts also concerning part cooling related settings and others (like first layer speeds), which are to set proportionally to speeds, but I did not want to go over 20min in this video in order to do slicer finger pointing. But you are right in every respect 👍

  • @Budschidau

    Dank schee für das tolle Video. Bin grad am überlegen, was der nächste Drucker werden soll. Der Bambu X1 ist schon geil, aber closed source und Kontozwang ist so ziemlich das Gegenteil von dem, was der Josef Prusa macht - deswegen ein no go. Der FLSun V400 ist schnell, aber keine Ahnung ob das ein set and forget Dauerläufer wird. Anfangs gehen ja die meisten CN-Drucker gscheit, bis die Einzelkomponenten dann doch den Geist aufgeben. MK3S ist gut aber langsam, der XL dauert noch. Snapmaker ist auch nicht wirklich als superzuverlässig bekannt. Muss ich doch einen Trident bauen😄

    • @247printing
      @247printing  Рік тому +1

      Merci dir! Schön zusammengefasst - hätte jetzt auch gemeint, dass ggf. der XL was für dich ist, aber ja - den gibt es nur auf dem Papier und wird schweineteuer sein. Meinen MK3S+ nutze ich aktuell überhaupt nicht mehr - der wurde tatsächlich sinnfrei seitdem ich die X1Cs inkl. Bambu Slicer nutze - auf den Speed will man nicht mehr zurück. Falls du die Zeit hast, dann wäre tatsächlich ein RatRig oder Voron aktuell das richtige für dich. Am meisten Spaß (egal ob 2.4 oder Trident) hast du mit nem LDO Kit. Formbot kann man aber auch machen. Rat Rig Kits sind ein bisschen eigen/aufwändig mMn. Am Ende kriegst mit dem V-Core-3 jedoch schon ein Stück mehr performance (speed bei quality) als mit einem Voron. Zu Voron vs. RatRig kann ich das Vergleichsvideo von Vector3D empfehlen. Kann ich 100% unterstreichen bis auf eins: Die Anleitungen bei Voron wurden mittlerweile deutlich besser.

      That's not a general and commonly known procedure.
      I thought I mentioned the procedure this in the video:
      You can iterate the layer time setting by printing the hull of the boat - repeat/iterate until it prints well.
      You can iterate the min. speed setting with the smoke stack - repeat/iterate until it prints well.
      For latter you can use something more pointy to have a general setting for more pointy stuff.

      @@247printing thanks for replying! Aside from recommending/not recommending/lifetime concerns: can the 3010s/4010s from gdstime take the overvolting or do they burn out immediately?

      @@kolorartists I tested 12V GDStime double ball 4010 on around 27V while searching for better cooling solutions for my tuned V0.0 (on some early videos you can see them). They become warmer and a bit smelly, but I was not able to kill them. The longest run was around 10h steadily at 100%. That's not long enough unfortunately in order to predict failure. In the end the performance was not enough unfortunately, so I made the 247ESPC :) I have 12V 3010s here, but I didn't find the time yet to check them out on 24+V :)

      @@247printing that's good enough for me to order some and start experimenting.
      My 5015s held up pretty nicely so far and at least the ones I got run better than the Sunon B1 and Delta BFB I had before (at least in terms of vibrations and noise, the Sunon BX (dual ball bearing instead of vapor) would be a viable alternative as the VX puts out some serious CFM, but they don't make them anymore - only B1 and VX and the Vapor (VX/1/2/..) series are magnetic levitation bearings which bang around and aren't suited for being mounted on moving parts).
      I don't expect wonders from it but every bit helps, especially for the occasional PLA print that I might want to run on the V0. And if they fail, they fail.

    "community and customer support offered by LDO" is NONEXISTING for regular John Doe !!!
    I've had a taste of this support a year ago, got a big "fuck you" from that "exceptional" support of theirs. When you are a youtuber or influencer... things change.

      How is this your conclusion from this video? They sent out new motors that fixed the VFA… but at the end of the day, stepper motors are stepper motors, and they will be very similar no matter who makes them

    Ill watch a review not influenced by free machines. All youtubers claim free stuff doesnt impact the review, but such BS.
    UA-camrs have be in the good graces of the sellers to get free stuff, and how do you get that? You help them make sales with a thinly veiled commercial you call a "review".
    So tired of bought and sold reviews from corrupt youtubers and retailers
    If you werent bought by a free machine and it doesn't matter to you, send me the free machines. But you wont because its your payment for your sales pitch.

      The only people who can trust your "reviews" are tge companies that buy them

      Wow buddy, you are so smart! /s
      You have no idea how this process works, UA-camrs that accept free samples don't benefit from them, it is just extra work and commitment for them.
