Q: What is "Eburnean Tommy"?
A: It's a DreamSMP AU (alternative universe) created by me, where Dream killed and revived Tommy in loop until all of his hair is white. He does not talk anymore and very rarely shows any emotions now.
I am currently doing a series of animatics around this AU, creating the interactions I imagine can happen in the SMP.
Q: Is there an order?
A: Not necessarily, but I suggest you to watch them in the order I upload. (There's a playlist with all the animatics of the AU in my channel)
Q: May I create some fanarts/fanfics/videos of the AU?

Basically it's what if Dream (after he broke out of jail) DID kill and revive Tommy over and over again like he said he would? Now Tommy's hair is completely white and he is now just staring at people without talking and barely reacts to what's going on around him

*DAMN*, this hit hard. Does this mean that Wilbur is the only one who can..."hear" Tommy? I'd make sense to include something like that into the AU, maybe make it related to how they're both revived? Besides that, I was fully expecting Tubbo to just trot over there and slap him. Would probably be difficult because of the height difference, but he'd definetly attempt it anyway. Wonder how Crow Father will react now...
Honestly, i feel like your version of Wilbur is the most accurate. He’s not perfect, but deep down he’s not a bad person- i mean, if you thought someone you knew and loved deeply was just - practically irresponsivewhat would you feel? The moment when he realizes what Tommy really feels then, it’s a moment of horror in itself- he realizes he screwed up. I think it truly captures c!wilbur, as many people represent him as an uncaring
a-hole - and that itself pisses me off. When i saw this animation, along with loving the au, all i could think was “finally. A good representation of Wilbur.”
I like to think the red out line of Tommy is what Tommy is thinking and Wilbur can “see” it. People (sometimes) forget how close they are, like they know each other well enough to know what they are thinking. So it makes sense that he knows what he is thinking even without him showing it. Probably why he didn’t follow Tommy because he knew Tommy wouldn’t want him to.
Also Wilbur having a break down perfectly shows the kind of person he is. He is terrified of losing someone. Especially Tommy, which is why in cannon he hasn’t apologize yet. He’s scared once he does Tommy will leave him and won’t come back. However he also knows he can’t hold it off forever because he might be too late.

Holy, god...this was intense, and I need to hug EVERYONE now. But it also says a lot. Tommy can still FEEL, under there, but he's broken, and for whatever reason, he can't bring those emotions to the surface, not truly. Makes me wonder if he's in pain.

I wonder if he’s lost pain in the physical sense which then loses it emotionally. Think about when you’re really sad, it almost hurts physically, so I wonder if losing all sensations of physical pain took away his reaction to emotional distress?
@@marz4705 That might be the case. Honestly, it might be Tommy's defense mechanism. And an unconscious one at that, born from Dream's kill-and-revive cycle. After a while of all that, he kinda just retreats into himself and refuses to give a reaction. Denying Dream that satisfaction. That's how I'm seeing it at least...

While this is my theory I like to think that tommy doesn’t show emotions like pain and only really shows things like anger or happiness because he wants to appear more mature and more adulty, I’m sure he has lots of pain but if he shows that he’ll just be told that to get over it.
So can Wilbur sort of in a way sense Tommy's anguish because he was also revived? Like is that how he's able to see Tommy's pain hidden behind his emotionless expression or something?
Makes sense and I think foolish would also be able too as well being the god totems of undying
I think it could also be Wilbur’s grief/guilt manifesting into what his brain thinks Tommy is saying, so more like a hallucination
I think its Wilbur knowing Tommy's behavior and attitude, And by some way I guess knowing Tommy for long, Wilbur's mind manages to determine what Tommy would like to say even with the littlest reactions from Tommy.

It was just amazingly sad, I love how you showed Wilbur at first like “Dream wouldn’t do that! He’s my hero and blah blah” but then Wilbur finally realizing that no this is reality, and this is what your so called “Hero” did to your brother, I also love how Wilbur know what Tommy is saying even tho he’s emotionless and cant speak, Love what you did over all!
I don’t know if I’m emotionally prepared for Wilbur to see what happened to Tommy, knowing that Tommy can’t really show emotion and would be watching Wilbur cry, just emotionally hurts

For wilbur to finally open his eyes to the realization the his so called " hero " killed his his own brother and know that he'll probably never be the old tommy again
An interesting thought here. In my theory, Tommy is still there, buried deep in his subconscious. Since Wilber has gone through death, he can be sensitive to other emotions. More you die, eh less connected you are to your senses, a form of pain killer to numb yourself. Tommy has died so much, his voice is now buried by layers of null. Wilber tasting it can still feel what what Tommy truly feels.
Fun fact, those who "don't show emotion" or hold it inside so others don't see actually feel all of their emotions far more intensely :D
In other words, Eburnean!Tommy might not look like he feels anything, but in his head there will be nothing but the most pure and intense form of whatever he is feeling. So what Wilbur is seeing through their connection is just pure agony.
You can actually try it yourself. Try to not show any emotion on your face while thinking or reading about something that really makes you upset. It actually feels pretty weird.
As someone who loves the AU but also is new to the dsmp story, I’m fascinated as to whether this is Will feeling something from Tommy as some in the comments are suggesting, or Will having flashbacks or filling in the blanks for Tommy. What a fun interpretation and au

Wow. Wil finally realized that he has messed up big time, and this time "sorry" won't fix it.
Wilbur went straight to denial and I was like "ah. Grief."
Then I was both getting a little choked up, (Like, NOOO!! WILBUUUR!! WHYY?!") but also hindbrain was pulling out the folder, because I've Studied Grief and the thing is, it doesn't go in a nice neat line. You might be Angry before you're in Denial/Shock. You might be already starting to Accept things before you start feeling Depressed/Sorrowful about what has occurred, and here we see Wilbur doing his pattern: Denial, Sorrow, Bargaining, Anger, Acceptance (or, at least, I think that's the process, as proven by the 2nd Revolution and Pogtopia?) and I love how this ends right before the Anger comes along., because The Almighty Hell this One Loveable Butt-Brains Could Bring... Beautiful. Perfect, #Brava, Brava, Bellissimo#! ^w^

I wonder if Wilbur has vague memories of limbo and tommy going back again and again, at first in heavy emotional distress and then just not talking at all.
To Wilbur it could also translate on him feeling alone on limbo, with no one to talk to even if he's got tommy with him.
Tommy just trying and failing to communicate just breaks me, it seems like he really still expresses how he feels, constantly but something is not working, he can't make those emotions work in the exterior, it's a really interesting concept when taken in this way
damn that hurt, anyway really good episode very emotional love that is exactly i want to happen in dsmp an event that finally is a snapback to reality and get the people from their high horses and thrones
The way you draw expressions is so beautiful and painful, you can see how much agony the characters are in and you executed that incredibly well

He does feel regret, an immense amount, which is why he doesn't apologize.
Lemme explain.
See, when Phil was giving his, (frankly hypocritical) speech about apologizing and righting wrongs and forgiveness, he said [paraphrase] "If you try your best and it's still not enough, you need to give them space. Sometimes you need to let people go, they won't forgive you."
This is true, and a good piece of advice, this was just shit timing. See Wilbur, being a sack of insecurities and mental issues, doesn't take this at face value. [Inferencing] He instead interprets this as "As soon as you apologize, people will leave cause they have no reason to stick around."
Now, what is the most important thing to Wilbur on the server? Power & Control? TNT? Dream?!?
All of these are completely wrong. It's Tommy. He _loves_ Tommy so so much. He calls him his muse, his sunshine, Toms, all the other cute little nicknames.
He views Tommy as too good for him, he sees himself as unworthy of Tommy's presence and affection. Which is exactly why he doesn't want to apologize yet.
He thinks if he apologizes, Tommy will leave him. For good. Wilbur understands he was a shitty person to Tommy, and sometimes still is. He knows he needs to apologize, but he just doesn't want to lose Tommy yet. He wants to stay with Tommy as long as possible.
Selfish? Maybe yeah.

He is quite literally a sad little man. He hurts the people he loves without meaning to, then he convinces himself and everyone else he's evil and a villian. But _think_ about it: What has Wilbur done that so "evil"?
"He blew up L'manburg!" Yeah, he did, but like so did c!Technoblade, but no one calls *him* evil.
"He manipulated/abused Tommy!" No, he didn't. No, he did not. I'd be happy to go into more detail in a separate comment if you'd like.
"The Pit!" Yeah, that was a shitty, fucked up thing to do. I'm not gonna sit here and pretend it wasn't or excuse his actions. I will say however, that he was extremely mentally unstable when he encouraged this. He wasn't in his right mind. This is no excuse, but it is a glimpse into the 'why?'.
He's all bark, no bite. He makes plenty of threats and acts all sinister and shit, but he isn't actually _doing_ anything. His strong point is words and speaking. He's good at convincing people of something. of stretching and twisting the truth. This time, it was against himself.

Here’s my theory: Tommy and Wilbur are connected in the sense that both are able to sense each other’s emotions in some way at varying intensities because they both were revived. Not only that, but Tommy has completely dissociated from life. The red outline is him while what everyone else sees is his body. Just a thought based off of psychology. In case your wondering where I got that info, I’m majoring in Psychology.

I love idea of Wilber being able to see the part of Tommy that was trapped outside the body when he was revived so many times. That because he was revived, too, he can see and be forced to witness what Dream took from Tommy.
okay, first of all, this is absolutely amazing, and i love tubbo getting in wilbur's face, because he absolutely wouldn't stand for euburnian!wilbur's crap, especially when tommy doesn't show/express emotions anymore.

I like to think that the red outline of Tommy is a the tiniest glimpse of his ghost that got split from his soul after being repetitively killed and revived, it never fully forms, and Wilbur has only ever seen it as vague whispers or cries, one of the reasons why Tommy is so numb and emotionless (aside from,,ya know,,,the trauma) is because when a fragment of his soul split, a lot of his emotions got sort of,,,transported into the ghost of that makes any sense?,,,,idk I’m just rambling ideas

This is the new level of Wilbur and Tommy doing the clown to clown conversation. Also Wilbur just gone through five stages of grief from Denial to Depression so fast. It might take him a long while, maybe never to reach acceptance tho.

i'm convinced with this random theory i made up about wilbur being able to see tommy's emotions through his eyes. it might be like a "stuck between the overworld and limbo" thing that since wilbur had a taste for what limbo is like for a while, he can see a part of it still in the overworld. yet, tommy is stuck between the two. he's still here but not fully and the real tommy is trapped (and ofc traumatized to oblivion dear god) between both, making him a shell of what he once was, yet still being able to convey the emotions of the actual tommy. this probably seems complicated or an obvious example of how not to create a theory but my guess is the revive process made it unable to keep both tommy's emotions and his mind/body in the overworld since it was done so many times to him that theres side effects to how much you can revive a person.
I love that you did the red things for his thinking and that Wilbur can see it.

I like to think that since Wilbur is the only one seeing Tommy’s inner thoughts it because of Ghostbur. Wilbur, Ghostbur, and Revived are all Wilbur, just from different periods, embodiments and different mindsets. Ghostbur can’t communicate anymore since there stuck at the train station but since Tommy has been revived over and over, I just have a hunch he left part of him there and took part of Ghostbur with him. Because Revivbur came out of there and left Ghostbur I like to think that whenever you leave the station, you leave a part of you there, and take a part someone who was close to you with you. Tommy’s been revived a countless number of times in this AU so he’s left behind a lot of himself back at the station. He must’ve have taken part of Ghostbur back with him because of how Dream’s little ritual to summon Tommy back takes a couple of seconds or maybe even longer, Tommy has been able to see Ghostbur and try to reach out for help but just ends up accidentally snagging a segment of Ghostbur and leaving his old self behind instead. A bait and switch for reference if you’re confused. Ghostbur is the treasure and the parts of him are taken and replaced with the old Tommy.

if the red outlined Tommy is what Wilbur think Tommy would say, im guessing that its because he knew exactly how Tommy would react because he probably knew that Tommy knew what he is doing to Tommy. He knew that Tommy no longer think of him as a brother (at least not one like how they were) and only followed because he needed directions. Wilbur want to always be right. He thinks he always is so he make up a reason. He's in denial about the whole thing, thinking that if he believes in it hard enough it would be true.
