Thank you for all your hard work. Concepts of originalities in literature is a heavily debated subjected for at least as there has been a field to discuss and study literature, and as you seem to conclude, everything is to some extent derivative but there can be new and different spins on subjects that new generations of readers and viewers can come engage with a topic/setting/trope with anew. Thank you all again.
I'm late to this party, but to expand on T3ctonic's points on how we tend to build on other people's ideas. We've pretty much been doing this since Homer's Odyssey and probably further back. The psychology of what people like and dislike is...well, complex and yet simple. We love "the heroes journey", and can't stand the people who walk in and are perfect. The anime "One Punch Man" handles this smartly, because although the character is overpowered, they still have flaws as a person that they must overcome. In book form, I think System Universe is a good example as well. The MC is OP as fuck, but by getting dropped into a new world, with a new system, and TRULY connecting with people for the first time in his life it adds opportunities for development as a person. There's more that can be expanded on for both of these examples, but I'm trying to avoid writing a novel here. At the end of the day, clichés and tropes both have their place in civilized society and storytelling, but it's how they get used that is critical.
Translated novels = {Originals novels that are popular.} Original novels > Translated novels Basically, finding a good original novel is harder than finding a translated (already successful) novel.
That is true. But we're more talking about original in terms of concept/execution than original work vs translated work. But you're definitely right in what you say.
Hello there. Answer the following questions. Since when have you guys started this website. How much does the author on your website earn average. Is your website going to close anytime soon? How does your website rank in comparison to other sites that are similar to you. Not including webnoval since it is a giant. Please answer them. I am wondering whether to publish my story on your site or not.
Hello, Authors on the website don't earn much at all (yet). We're ad-based right now, although we're going to be moving to a subscription-based system in the future that will hopefully pay authors more. For authors looking to earn more money, we have a publishing program that you can check out by going to our website and then clicking on "publishing" in the header menu. Our website is not going to close anytime soon. We're actually about to start rebuilding the site from scratch so that we can accommodate comics and audiobook adaptations of our published works. Our website still ranks rather low compared to other similar sites (such as scribblehub and royalroad) but we are growing quite well. Right now I'd still call us more than an indie publisher than a webnovel hosting site, though.
I'm not sure Omniscient Reader is necessarily original. For a while there were so many "knowing the plot is my cheat" stories kicking around on Bookwalker and Novelupdates ever since Death Flags made such a huge splash in 2015. Also it's hilarious to me that out of protest for Webnovel poaching OR from Rainbow Turtle that everybody on that site got it labeled as BL/Yaoi just to annoy the crap out of Webnovel users.

Glad you enjoyed it!

You're probably right - it was just something new and refreshing for me as I'd never read anything like it before.
