Great job on the video !Enjoyed hearing the history part too !
Looks like a beautiful and unique place to visit.
Thanks for sharing😊
Glad you enjoyed it! It is our pleasure Donna! Thanks so much for watching.
Just watched your video. I live in Shady Valley. On the other side of the tunnel, Backbone, is a camp ground, (about 10 spaces, primitive camping, no water, no electricity). There is also a picnic pavilion. My family has been having our family reunion for approximately 80 years at the pavilion, and have been across the Backbone Rock many times, in my younger days. There use to be a trail all the way across the Rock. Also one time we took a friend of mine across the rock, and she is legally blind. She was determine to do it. And she did it.So glad you did a video on the park. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for taking us along on this vlog and for the history of the tunnel!
Our pleasure!
It’s been a while since I’ve been through there. Beautiful

Thank you guys so much for watching! Our pleasure.
We used to live 1/2 mile from 421, only we called it Orange Blossom Trail down in Florida.
That's cool! This is in your old backyard!!
Oh my!!! Yes, be careful..I was getting dizzy watching 👀 you..but, it's still such a beautiful 😍 place...
Hi Marlee! We were careful and sorry for getting you dizzy. We appreciate you watching!!
That's amazing video you made, great job!.
Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing this. Why did I not already know about this? I must go. Looks like a 2 hour drive for me. Love your hiking videos the most. Karen, love your outfit!
Hey Stephanie, 2 hours isn’t a bad drive. Hope you get to check it out. Thank you. ~ Karen
This is cool.
Thanks so much for watching!
That was a great video. My heart rate is increasing just watching you climb that steep trail. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for watching and it was our pleasure.
Me and a friend of mine rode the snake a couple of years ago on our motorcycles after watching your video on it. We also stopped at the store and rode up there through the tunnel and ate lunch in the the little town in Virginia right down the road.
It's a great road for motorcycles! Thanks for sharing and watching Shane.
Great Video! Didn’t know about this place. Look forward to visiting.
Thanks so much for watching and we hope you can visit it soon.
This is beautiful, amazing and magical. I love history so that's a bonus. Thank You both 🌹🌹🌹
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for watching and commenting Jennifer!
We go here alot, nice place, there is a trail close to the end on top to the left that takes you to the picknick area on the other side. Also there is a campground right down the road on left. Very nice place.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Our favorite video yet! Karen telling the story of the tunnel was a great touch and we hope she continues to do that for future videos, it was super engaging. Well done!! 9 MORE DAYS
She is so good at it and has an excellent memory! Thanks for the encouragement and for watching we appreciate you guys! 9
@@FridaysForever Kim was sooooo funny, she kept closing her eyes and saying “Karen get back from the edge” I was rolling laughing!!!
Haha! So funny! I really wasn’t too close...you two know me better than that! Mike thinks it was the camera angle. I’m too safety minded for that! 😅🤣 ~ Karen
Well made video and very interesting. I particularly love the camera shots of you guys together. A lot of extra effort having to place and retrieve the camera that way, but well worth it. I felt like i was there and ready to fall when you had the camera pointing over the edge. I am not afraid of heights just falling 😂 Stay Safe
Thank you very much! We appreciate you noticing the extra effort. That would be a long fall!
i'm going to cherokee the last week of this month maybe i can find this
Thanks so much for watching and we hope you can.
We've made many trips to the mountains but this is a new one on us...time to go exploring! Thanks for the introduction to this area! The only thing disappointing is that driving through the tunnel, you're on the other side before you can even get your hand on the horn! 😉📯😊 (Typical tourists!)!🙄
Haha! You are right about the horn. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and watch.
@@FridaysForever We're enjoying your channel so much! 👍👍💗✝️
Such a beautiful river I'm surprised there was not any trout fisherman out it looked like a perfect day for fishing. Love the history of the stair steps. I noticed Karen it's well, and Mike you eat like me. Great video oh also are you going to the madness of rod run?
Thanks so much for watching George! No rod run for us. Karen always eats right. Hope you are doing well. God bless!!
Enjoyed video love the water flowing from river 👌 and that nature walk good history said from your wife on the tunnel. Have a blessed day, God bless you both have a great 👍 day
Glad you enjoyed it Bobby! God bless and thanks so much for your support!!
Awww, such beautiful scenery! We have camped in Cherokee National Forest but this area is new to me! Love the historical story! Very interesting. I enjoyed that.
Im gonna admit, my shins were shooting pains throughout the scary trail top shots hahaha. I'm not as afraid of heights as I am falling!😁
This video came to uplift my spirits right on time today as we were just informed Chris' (my husband, I call him "groomy" 😉) mom has been admitted with covid. She's 72. If y'all could say a prayer, it would be much appreciated! God is good and He's always on time. 🙏❤
@American Infidel Amen! Thank you!!!!!!!❤
We hate to hear about Chris’ mom. Praying for her. Thanks for watching and commenting. Not only am I scared of heights, but falling too.
@@FridaysForever thank you so much!
So sorry to hear about your husband's mom. Prayers for a speedy and complete recovery. God bless!
@@barbarawhite4225 Thank you so very much!❤
Perfect place for Bushcraft camping ❤️❤️❤️ it's like Cody Wyoming vibe and Idaho, nice video give u a perfect 10 for that...
Thanks for watching and commenting Roland! We appreciate the 10😀
Hi ,looking for videos of the park. That big yree withr roots ,what type of tree is that please
Y’all are so cute! I loved the into with Karen skipping down the trail!
Thanks so much for watching!
I’m afraid my occasional vertigo would kick in
We’re in Gatlinburg for the week. Can y’all suggest a store to buy a good steak for grilling. Thx
There’s a Food City on 321, across from Gatlinburg city hall we believe. They have great meat. Then get butter and Montreal steak seasoning to put on it.
Ok Thx. That’s close to where we’re staying.
Such a nice area. Reminded us of Natural Bridge in Kentucky. You definitely need to pay attention on that trail and not the camera too much.
Jim & Pearl
It really is! We were very careful and the camera makes it look like we were closer to the edge than we were. Thank you guys so much for watching!
Nope, nope, nope!! Couldnt get that high!! Or up all those steps!!
We understand!
Did you lose your phone? One was found and turned in to the rangers station at grayson highlands state park on 8/24/24. It looked like your picture
Not us but thanks!
Karen you’re scaring me watching you get so close to the edge of those cliffs! Enjoyed the video.
Well, it really wasn’t that close. I’m not a daredevil and hate heights. Lol Mike thinks it was the camera angle. 😀
~ Karen
Wow, I was getting dizzy watching you both looking over the cliffs. 😂
Sorry about that Chad. Guess we are living a bit dangerous!
Ya'll are making me nervous! Have known 2 young people who fell and died trying to look too close while hiking in the Smokies. Anyway, the area is beautiful, tfs.
So sorry Barbara. Thanks for watching.
@@FridaysForever They are with The Lord , what more could you wish for them? Have a good night! Thanks
You sure do find some interesting places to take us on.I hope that wasn't as scary in person as it was on camera. Really enjoyed this adventure!
Glad you enjoyed it Phillip!

Thanks for sharing!
I don't know how Karen did it...on that trail over the tunnel. She is afraid of heights, like me!! I got nervous just watching and I'm sitting in my recliner!!!
She made it!
My husband can never see this video. 😂😂
Hahaha!
We live about 10 minutes from here. I actually asked Becky to marry me here.
How cool is that! Thanks for sharing with us.
