USS Whipple rescue August 21, 1978

In the South China Sea on August 21, 1978, USS Whipple FF-1062 came across this small vessel with 126 Vietnamese refugees. Ship crewmembers gave them food, water, supplies, compass, charts and helped them fix their boat to make it seaworthy. They were within a day or so of getting to Malyasia.
