NSU has developed an engine that might spell the end of the conventional piston engine. WRONGGG! It spelt the end of NSU Even after all these years no one has been able to make it a competitive alternative . It’s far Too thirsty and Mazda finally gave up because of emission problems.
The European sports cars of this era were so beautiful, yet sedans and larger cars, with few exceptions, were boring! I guess all the talented designers did sports cars.
@@trevorayson7593 Were great back in the day when the opposition was rubbish, because they had all the weight over the rear wheels for traction, but once they let go they were nearly impossible to catch, like the early 911's, but in a lot of snow racing back then you could bonce them of the snow banks when they went into that hard to catch rear slide, but today they totally outdated even when they can use that technique, and are useless/dangerous on fast gravel or tarmac!
@@trevorayson7593 They are useless and dangerous. Totally wrong design. And, if you didn´t know. Front wheel drive cars also has all the weight over the driving wheels! They are the safest snow cars ever!
Always thought the E- Type was underpriced, selling something too cheap, and the E-Tyoe was very special, can damage it's image, and it was never developed in the way the 911 was, we have still 911s today.

Didn't NSU become Audi?
Yep hence the four rings now on Audi cars
As German I've to say You're comletely wrong! The four rings represent the makes of the former Auto Union :Audi, Horch, Wanderer and DKW !

That's correct the Rotary engine in the NSUro80 with all it's warranty claims sent NSU to the wall.
Only a real man could drive a Jaguar lol

These rear engined cars was a catastrophy for roadholding and safety! Thank God they are gone now!
@@user-vf3lx9ix3e They are closer to mid engine now.
Have you ever driven one? A guy from Norway told me the rear engined Skodas were great in snow racing.

I bet not even Ferdinand Porsche himself expected that kind of longevity when he stole the Beetle design from Tatra.
Mate of mine bought a new E type in 67 and wrote it off after three weeks. Then he bought a new Cortina so his missus and three kids were happy.
