That does it: you are now officially the best guitar teacher in the youtube universe. I discovered you through Papastache so a massive shout-out to him, who is also an incredible teacher. Thank you, thank you.
You are by far the best teacher on the internet. Your lessons are amazing and I have deleted all my other “teachers” and only follow your lessons. So awesome…
Crazy how such a simple idea can be so revolutionary. If we know the positions, and comfortable playing with one or the other, combining them together is truly freeing and allows you to play the notes we hear in our mind that we were never able to tap into by picking one or the other.
Corey, i took a few months off playing and i come right back to this video and open up whole new ideas in my guitar playing. A+ job man, you are the best teacher I have found for opening my mind up to new ideas. Bravo, sir.
I love the way your lines really swing! Your channel always has such great content. I can't figure out why you don't have a million subs yet. But someday it will happen and then I can say I was there in the early days.
Corey's videos and guitar courses are money. I"ve learned (and retained) more from Mr. Congilio in the past year than I learned in 15 years of haphazard "study." Guy is all time. Gearing up for CBV1.5 real soon!
Fore me, Corey's nice example into the major and minor pentatonic scales in the key of C marries very well with one of my favorite Corey TrueFire courses (Trading Solos: Texas Blues here specifically his shuffle example also in C)!! Try it! Jim C.
Excellent lesson regarding the major /minor, for those who may not know, there are videos demonstrating the exchanger pedal which can give the sound of a humbucker from a single coil and vice versa as well as other tones, worth checking out.
Great lesson! I've only ever relied on the minor pentatonic but recently started learning the major and guess what.... I can now mix it up because of you! Thankyou for this, you now have another subscriber 😃
Mate, that was a great video. I really appreciated how after the licks you went into the uses of the pickups too. I just bought one of these guitars as well as the John Mayer Silversky. I love the Silversky but I’ve been massively impressed with how versatile Paul’s Guitar is. If you’re playing in a covers band, you could play GNR or Metallica and then some Chic and not have to switch guitars. I’ve been a Gibson Les Paul guy for 26 years but these PRSs are fantastic. Nice one. 👍🏻
Keep it up man your content is awesome and very easy to learn from. Not many can make teaching simple. You do. And this UA-cam channel will boom, subs are not a reflection on how good you’re teaching is. It will happen only a matter of time and lots of content will compliment it! Keep it up and thank you! God bless
Daniel Danato talks about practicing melding these two shapes over one another to able to move freely between the two. Feeling the intersection of those scale in the Chord progression, at the right time, makes the difference between Cool 😎 and Clam 😳! Still hearing an Albert Collins vibe in your Tone! 😎 I know gear geeking is a mainstay of UA-cam but for me digging into playing is a better ride
Cool, easy to understand lesson as usual, sweet playing, and look forward to a humbucker /single coil deep dive. And nice touch showing some love for FiveWattWorld!
Can't wait for the humbucker/singlecoil video, should be good. Great sounds with the major minor scales, this is a very cool way to look at it. And keep doing the sound demos at the end, really digging them.
Hey Corey, that's a very authentic single coil sound from a split, usually they sound weedy. You said you're kicking in the drive pedal as you switch, I guess that helps, but I've heard others say this guitar is the best split pickup. I'm tempted, but I've only just bought the SE Hollowbody 🤔
Interesting lesson Corey. When do you decide to flip between major and minor licks? Were you playing major on the 1 chord and then minor on the 4/5 changes?
Had to laugh with ''shooting for the next guitar'' Had my eye on a PRS Pauls guitar for a while now.....why oh why did I watch this? ha ha. I will just have to not resist the natural way.....welcome to the collection Paul.
Good lesson. I would’ve preferred if you spent more time on the Cmajor Pent Pattern 1/Aminor Pent Pattern 5 as it’s less familiar. Also would’ve preferred to have the single coil / humbucker part as a separate lesson.
Both are coming for sure! Here’s another major minor pentatonic lesson on my channel. Recent feedback is that many have enjoyed a tone section at the end. Thx! ua-cam.com/video/rYmVB9Rc0Q4/v-deo.html
Great lesson as usual Cory. Would you mind checking the link for the backing track does not seem to be working. I have turned off ad blockers. Many thanks
i have a question ? if im playing in A major i know i play the A major scale..But when i go to the 4 chord being D minor should my lead scale change to D major or A minor while in D. ?
Hi very interesting video as I am trying to get comfortable with mixing major and minor. I am unsure if it is me but I can’t see the link to the tabs. I enjoy your playing and teaching style
I just added it as I uploaded the video and forgot the link! It's there now in the comments and description. coreycongilio.ac-page.com/mixmajorminorpentc
Kind of hard to justify spending $5k on a guitar when you see what a fairly inexpensive guitar can do. In a mix there are lots of guitars that can be great, if you can play “musically”. Without spending over a grand.
Ya know, I really think ya oughtta give away that guitar. You got too many PRS's hanging up there already, ya got no room for another... Me on the other hand...
@@coreycongilio Just pulling your leg Mr. Congilio.. I do have my eyes on a similar "Pauls's guitar" but haven't pulled the trigger yet... But I love the tuned pickups, ever since Tim Pierce did a demo of the Pauls's guitar a year or so ago...

The feeling is the same! I discovered you through Papastache. You are an awesome teacher Corey Coniglio!!
@@charlybritos1 Thx so much!
I support that statement!

I came across your channel yesterday, this was the first video I seen, I went home and played these 2 scales.. such revelation, thanks alot bro.
This video has lust Skyrocketed my playing to a whole another level!!! Thank You !
My pleasure!
Corey you are on 🔥. Nobody has as much fun on YT as you. Great lesson as always
I appreciate that!

Glad to hear it!
Been sat on the fence about buying your Complete Blues course on your web site. This pushed me over. I’m in! Buying it now. Great teaching. Thank you
Wow thx so much! I hope you enjoy!
That beautiful blend on major/minor. Love it Corey 👊🏼
Thx !
Thanks Corey! Your UA-cam teaching videos are such a great way to start a Saturday!! 🙂🎸😎

Alright, Good Saturday Morning Corey! Coming down, next week! 🎸👍✌️
Solid video! I ordered my SE Pauls Guitar from Sweetwater last week, I hope it becomes available soon, Cheers!
Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the tab Corey. Must say I am getting a lot from your Beginners solo and other courses, brilliant material.

Corey, Please do the next video about this. I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
The pickups? For sure. Should have it in a few weeks after some other obligations!
Great video Corey. That humbucker & single coil video idea sounds good.
Really cool guitar man... im hoping this lesson helps me define the major minor sounds and when to use em.
Love that tshirt

Depends on the song really. Try sticking with one key/scale at first

Not sure whether this was a lesson in Pentatonics or an extended advert for PRS
1. Major/Minor Pent, 2. Pickup talk, 3. Wasn't propositioned or compensated by PRS whatsoever
Corey can you do any live streams during the weekend or on non 9-5 working hours? hehehe
Hi :) I would like to ask you few questions :) tiny interview if you don't mind :D
may I?
It finally hit me..... Your Ray out of "every one loves Raymond " lol not really but close
I don’t see it but, I can do a pretty good voice impression
I want to slow this video down so I can learn every lick you played. Lol
You can, hit the settings cog in the playback controls, at the bottom of the video, and you can adjust the playback speed!
You got a haircut!
And you provided a great lesson as well!
Sounds like a little bb in there

Good point. This one is pretty great for the money, I gotta say. Gonna do another vid with it too since the pickups are pretty cool
Kind of went off topic and into sound settings lol
I did mention I would be doing that in the vid though!
Ya know, I really think ya oughtta give away that guitar. You got too many PRS's hanging up there already, ya got no room for another... Me on the other hand...
You may be on to something there. It is a loaner after all!

Not teaching much, more of a commercial for the guitar.
Have to disagree with ya there
