thank you sosososso much! im a 14 year old aspiring Christian and looking to become closer with God and understand which actions are sin and which arent so i can successfully become a good Christian! Jesus is our LORD and saviour and the only truth! God bless you all 🥰✝️
I understand that this video is 3 years old, but I’m so glad that I ran across it. I’ve been trying to become more closer to God as the day goes by. This year 2020 hasn’t been great at all, but we have to make the best of it. Thank you for helping me out a lot! I really felt like this was for me🙏🏾
So recently i kept a very important promise for my friend because of personal stuff, saying “i swear on my mom” and i ended up breaking it. This video hopefully would make it much clearer on using “i swear to God, on my parents, etc”
I always wondered why this case of hypocrisy isn't questioned more. Like when they call a witness back in a trial, they typically say "Remember you're still under oath.". But that very oath undermines the thing they make the oath upon (I e. The Bible) so why does a system that incorporates said hypocrisy feel that it's in a position to judge anything. It's kind of 'scary' when you stop and really think of all the implications of this!
So basically the lord said it so that we don’t make false promises on his name got it but if you make that promise on his name and fulfil it and you know that you’re not lying then God will be happy with us
Thanks a lot for this spiritual insight and wisdom of God's word. It made me understand that God really is true and he alone is perfect and good ,thus if we put or trust in him and obey his commandments we can also be perfect and good like him.
In accordance with this word and matthew 5:33-37, matthew 6:10, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I bind myself, my family, friends, colleagues. neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ to be consistent in one's yes and in one's no insofar one does what one says in line with God his will for all, while binding to hell l being unequally yoked and have any common share with those who do not are consistent in one's yes and one's no insofar one does not do what one says lacking to be in line with God his will for all, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
Yes! If you repent and ask forgiveness. Repenting means that you are truly sorry for your sinful act and you use all your strength to NOT do the same again. If you keep doing it, you haven’t repented. God will help you if you ask him to.
Hi once I sweared on the Bible and I broke it but it was a accident I had no intention of doing it and it was a honest mistake and I want to be forgiven can I be forgiven?
Hi Lucy, yes, you can be forgiven. It's obviously not good to swear on the Bible, or anything for that matter, especially if you break your promise. Is it a sin? Yes. But the good news is... Jesus died for those sins so we can be forgiven. I don't know everything, but in my knowledge, there is no text in the Bible that says you can't be forgiven if you swore on the Bible and broke it. Its just like the other sins. As long as we are in Christ and ask for forgiveness, God will forgive us. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
A person's word is her oath. Your parent's bible doesn't change that. Assertions about "Jesus" or "god" are just assertions without evidence. Ask anyone who makes a living with their good word and handshake.
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. Deuteronomy 6:13 kjv Looking at the hebrew for matthew 5:34, we are actually are not swear in vain at all.
There are hundred of account of Yeshua and the miracles He performed by the Power of God. In fact more evidence supposedly than Aristotle . If hundreds of people write that something happened it perhaps did happen!

Super awesome explanation!! Really helps break it down

weird idea by the us government to make public officials swear on a bible that says NOT to swear on it 🤷🏻♂️
Haha yes, that's true!
Man is evil. What man knows his own heart?
I was just thinking this! I won't do it and say it's against my religion.

I go to a bible school. And this section confused me, but now I understand.

Great job
what if i accidentally swear to god on accidentally because i accidentally swear to god
i've been thinking if some one swear to god in their mind is it swearing to god
you’re mind plays tricks one you. if your mind says something that you don’t like or agree with then it’s fine.
What about covenants?
So if you swear to god, you can be forgiven
Would swearing on God be considered blasphemy?
What about the Pledge of Allegiance?
It says to make your yes mean yes, and no as no, so you should uphold your allegiance if you make it
how about of its on accident?
A person's word is her oath. Your parent's bible doesn't change that. Assertions about "Jesus" or "god" are just assertions without evidence. Ask anyone who makes a living with their good word and handshake.
What bible translations do you use?
He’s using King James Version New Testament
So don't swear to god just yes or no
What if I say I swear to God but lie will I go to hell
No, you can be forgiven... just like other sins
@@tayloredstory8241 if one repents, and tries to live a more sin free life
3 people sweared to god but they lied does that mean they go to hell ?
They won't go to hell if they repent. God will give them mercy if they ask for forgiveness, just like other sins.
@@2BeLikeChrist ohh okie ty
@@2BeLikeChrist I feel better
It’s blasphemy to strengthen our own resolve by swearing by God’s name and actually quite dangerous sin.
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Deuteronomy 6:13 kjv
Looking at the hebrew for matthew 5:34, we are actually are not swear in vain at all.
No such thing as "sin."
.
I am in shock.. that is way far to what is true.. there is a thing called sin.. is another thing u dont want to see it that way
So can I use the word "maybe" or not?
Gold Onyx I don't think that's important, "say yes or no" is saying stay true to yes or no, no need to swear on your yes or no. maybe is a fair answer
May your yes mean yes and your no mean no, and your maybe mean maybe
what if you’re swearing on something in the past? like, ‘yes i swear i ate that apple’ or something
I don't think any god exists. Do you?
He clearly does ...
And he’s right
