Fortunately (for all of us) I'm not a military professional, but these Extrema Ratio products are amzaing. Unique. Works of art, really. At least, if you believe form follows function. I would love to handle one. if I ever do manage to land an RAO for my little collection, I would like to use a leaf spring from a '64 Chevy to convert it to full auto. "** KA-CHING ** -Berk
There is TWO locking mechanism. An axis-lock sort of system (the one dongle that slides near the back at the handle) and the pin is an extra locking system. The first and main locking system is already strong enough. Basically, the pin is for when you positively need to be SURE , so damn sure, it won't budge. That's bonus.
@TheHellBound666 screw is actually an optional extra safety when you expect to do some really hard use with it...it has a reg locking mechanism as well. I'd love one too, but so costly :P
@TheHellBound666 It's basically a fixed blade, that can be folded for convenience. Extrema Ratio makes extremely high quality instruments, while the price is high, if you have the chance to hold one do so and you might re-evaluate whether it is overpriced or not. Personally I am a huge fan of the Ultramarine, their diving knife, and several of the other fixed blades, although I only own one for now. Check 'em out.
Looks pretty cool. However that screw safety is not very practical. Imagine you get jumped and you need your knife...."Hey...hold on, let me remove my safety" :)
High marks for coolness factor, not so high marks on practicality. Not particularly my style, but I would understand why someone would want to collect one of these.
I got this - the little bitches who are wining can't afford it - extrema ratio makes some of the best military grade knifes on the planet. Some people can't spend $300 - $700 on a knife , will say I don't use the knife just to collect .
there is no point of have a folding knife being that big, you would be better off having a FULL TANG blade. it's soo much less likly to snap at the handle
