My Trip to Tonle Bati Temple Resort in Takeo Province Cambodia | Asian Travel
Tonle Bati Resort is one of most beautiful places to visit in Cambodia. Featuring nice clean lake with hundreds of small cottages where you can seat and relax.
One beautiful ancient temple is also in the area so you can get to see after or before lunch.

In 802 AD, Jayavarman II declared himself king, uniting the warring Khmer princes of Chenla under the name "Kambuja".[9] This marked the beginning of the Khmer Empire which flourished for over 600 years, allowing successive kings to control and exert influence over much of Southeast Asia and accumulate immense power and wealth. The Indianized kingdom built monumental temples including Angkor Wat, now a World Heritage Site, and facilitated the spread of first Hinduism, then Buddhism to much of Southeast Asia. After the fall of Angkor to Ayutthaya in the 15th century, a reduced and weakened Cambodia was then ruled as a vassal state by its neighbours. Tonle Bati (Khmer: ទន្លេបាទី) is a small lake about 30 km south of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It is a popular weekend destination for the local population. It is also a popular fishing spot for both tourists and people who live locally.
Close to the lake, there is the Ta Prohm of Bati, one of several shelters built in Cambodia and Thailand during the reign of Jayavarman VII to house the Jayabuddhamahanatha statues.[1]:175-176 It is located off the highway to Takeo.
20 minutes south of the lake there is another temple called Phnom Chisor (Khmer: ភ្នំជីសូរ). It is situated on a mountain top which requires a visitor to climb 461 steps. More Info: en.wikipedia.o...
Takeo (Khmer: ខេត្តតាកែវ, IPA: [taː kaeːw] "Crystal Grandfather") is a province (khaet) of Cambodia. Located in the southwest of Cambodia, Takeo borders the provinces of Kampot to the west, Kampong Speu to the northwest and Kandal to the north and east. Its southern boundary is the international border with Vietnam. The provincial capital, recently known as the provincial town Daun Kaev (formerly called Takéo), is a small city with a population of 39,186.
