The genus Gorilla is divided into two species: the eastern gorilla and the western gorilla, and either four or five subspecies. The DNA of gorillas is highly similar to that of humans, from 95 to 99% depending on what is included, and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after chimpanzees and bonobos.

    Respect does NOT mean:
-to be aware of harming others, feel bad about it, but do it anyway.
-to feel grateful while harming someone.
    - to tolerate someones violent ideology, and refuse to challange it. An ideology is not a person with interests.

I'm not sure if I agree. It is a little harsh to judge someone's character based on a live debate. Most vegans, me included, grew up non-vegan. If confronted by those arguments it is - as we know - basically impossible to produce any valid argument against veganism. He didn't know that yet. So basically what you expect from him is to immediately, on the spot admit to a stranger that the way he lived his life - how he was taught to think since childhood - is deeply immoral.
I am not at all surprised that he responded the way he did. However I'd caution you to conclude from this reaction in this unique stress situation about his personality. I don't think he walked away from this conversation thinking "man I did great. I am so proud of my arguments". Maybe this uneasy feeling of cognitive dissonance will cause him to think more about how he should have responded to Ed. And maybe this is the start of the process that you probably went through already? This stuff takes time - always. It is one thing to point out when someone is behaving immorally - I am all for that - but it feels somewhat cocky to pretend you could judge how someone's mind works based on how they try to come up with an argument that they still think exists. You probably (unconsciously) spent days, weeks, months or maybe even years to realize that this argument does not exist.

After watching the video, I actually believe that in the future Vladimir might see some of the flaws in his argument and eventually become vegan. I think the fact that he contradicted himself so many times and in the end came to such a ludicrous conclusion (that Veganism will lead to a communist invasion), shows that he is grasping at straws in order to justify his actions.
Most of us weren't vegan from the moment we first heard about it, and it's unjust to judge people who are probably exposed to these ideas for the first time, for not immediately agreeing with Veganism. We're not capable of changing people's lifelong views in one swift conversation; the goal is to plant a seed that might sprout in a month, a year, or a decade. Ed made this man think about his actions, and whether it be consciously or subconsciously, a seed was planted.
It's also important not to mock Vladimir in the comments because at the end of the day, the goal of these videos is to provide vegans with better communication and debating skills so they are able to get their point across in a more coherent and convincing fashion, and to start conversations with non-vegans or provoke some thoughts about the subject in their mind.
By posting negative comments about Vladimir (apart from the fact that I think that's wrong) we might be portraying ourselves as less inviting towards non-vegans who have decided to watch the video and might want to discuss the topic in the comments.
It is important to remember that in the fight for Veganism, the animals, not us, are the focal point, as they are the ones being oppressed.
As hard as it may be, even when somebody completely disagrees with our fight, it's important not to antagonize people, because that will only lead society further away from Veganism.
Ed, you are an inspiration and I truly admire the work that you are doing for the animals, the environment and for justice! ❤️🐔🌱

Wow good empathy there and a reminder to the rest of us on why we are passionate about the vegan cause. Yep this is not about how Ed “won” or how ridiculous Vlad’s arguments are. This is about whether this is a starting point for Vlad (and others like him) to have an internal dialog.

@@RK-nq3fj I completely agree with you.
The notion that someone can win a debate, whose sole purpose was to educate and prokove thoughts is preposterous.
By portraying these debates as if they have a winner and a loser, we are making it even harder for people to move towards Veganism as that might now entail defeat in their mind.
As a matter of fact, if Ed "wins" the debate and manages to convince the other person to reflect upon his decisions, both sides have won. This is not a zero sum game.
      Appreciate the comment! 🥰

It’s not about how smart an animal is it’s about their experience and if they can feel every emotion, experience pain and are self-aware (which farm animals are) mentally disabled people may have the mental age of a 3-4 year old like a pig does but that doesn’t justify me killing them, and it also doesn’t make my life worth more just because I am smarter or posses more power because worth of life isn’t about power and intellect. If you think it is about power and intellect then you have to agree that all alien species who are smarter and more advanced have a higher worth of life than humans

I love that he mentioned the promised neverland anime/manga. watching it as a vegan was refreshing just because of the non vegans reacting to it. It is a great way to see what 'ethical farming' might look like and how the 'farmed' creatures; in this case humans; still feel scared and still end up dying and once they figure out what is happening the fear is intensified because there is deception. obviously, humans have more intelligence but animals can still feel these basic emotions. And eventually they try to escape . it would be great to see Ed's reaction to it actually. an anime review with Ed sounds great.

I find it absolutely heart breaking my christian brethren have twisted the scripture. Adam named the animals and God gave all the creatures the plants to live.
I am vegan, called by God to eat this way. And that IS NOT WHAT DOMINION MEANS.
God has dominion over us, does He eat us? No. He cares for us and loves us. Like a Father.
That's what God intended for man and animals, to live side by side in harmony, love and peace.
He's not quoting scripture, he is quoting popeye.. who ironically ate spinach to get strong.
Ed thanks for making this content. It helps me debate on behalf of the voiceless in my life.
