Dude how freaking competitive bc I’ve been in some pretty competitive situations in my 30 years on this planet and NEVER have I had to harness “blood lust” to win.
Wtf do they do in engineering school. Jesus!

Guy: "Eating meat is unproblematic because animals have 0 moral worth."
"Eating meat can cause people to be more violent."
"Killing animals makes you a monster".
"Being a monster is a GOOD thing."
No, dude, what you are reffering to is power. Humans have POWER over animals. We can CHOOSE to abuse that power, or we can transform it into responsibility. Strength is RESPONSIBILITY - not domination or violence. A strong man is someone who can be strong for the weaker, not someone who selfishly kill others to satiate aesthetic preferances..
Especially since that power is very circumstantial

Yes, especially the US has a much higher population of violent people. Maybe that is because of the high consumption of red meat in this country. This guy being interviewed is NOT at the upper level of intelligence.

Part one: “Eating meat is non-negotiable for me because it makes me feel like a big tough boy. That’s more important than the suffering I cause.”
Part two: “Eating meat is non-negotiable for America because being cruel to animals is practice for being cruel to other people, and that’s what keeps us on top.”
XD im tired of their bs
Yup, spoken like a true bloodlust-y Christian.
Makes me more proud to be an anti-religion atheist
@@joshwarrey3728 it has nothing to do with Christianity, maybe with “modern” Christianity, for people interpreting it wrongly by speculation and drawing conclusions from one’s own mind, but the first commandment is thou shalt not kill. Easy as that.
And I’m not even Christian myself.
And so every every religion started out, to be a guide for morality and for connecting ourselfs with out source. Meaning to know our selfs and God and to actually treat everything as sacred.
However most spritual practices have degenerated with time so if one wants to get spiritual understanding one better approach a Bona fide line of gurus where the knowledge are unchanged and where the preacher is a living example of what is preached and what the scripture are saying.
So religion is meant to be a tool for spiritual understanding in essence.

The lengths that people will go to instead of admitting that they are wrong is just mind blowing.
they have an opportunity to be a hero for the side which is much easier to be on and argue for. they are all saying all these things, but really they just would HATE for you to get away with being right and making all the wrongs feel bad. pathetic.
The problem with that is there wouldn't be a debate and this video wouldn't exist in the first place if he took those words out of your mouth
I think that after watching Ed win each argument with these people, is that the bottom line is they put their love of the taste of the animal over the love, compassion and empathy for the animals. I love when I hear someone say, I’m an animal lover… and then of course I have to ask if they’re vegan. 🤷♀️

Love these videos! I'm muslim and the religious argument of 'humans having dominion' was mis-used. When you have dominion, you are a care-taker, you have stewardship and that is all about acting with responsibility, care and consideration rather than irresponsibly with arrogance or tyranny. The earth is a place for all the creatures of God, and we should respect the sanctity of life and be humble.
@@NermineNaThat point leads me to believe that if the "divine" texts truly were divine, they would certainly not be as open to misinterpretation as they are. A big issue is that people LOVE to isolate a verse, then attribute their own arbitrary meaning to it. -to be aware of harming others, feel bad about it, but do it anyway.
-to feel grateful while harming someone.
- to tolerate someones violent ideology, and refuse to challange it. An ideology is not a person with interests.
haha well said!
Respect does not mean turning someone into poo and flushing them down the toilet.

But at some point it was so cumbersome to have to keep stretching my beliefs around something that is an unneeded hypothesis in the first place. It’s the same with veganism. You heard it here first, you need meat in order to become a monster so you can be competitive in life 🤡
Besides, by his same argument, if we are naturally predators that lust for blood wouldn't limiting consumption lead us to be *more* aggressive and competitive, because "assuaging the need" would result in satisfying the urge. Like, I practice martial arts and if I am nervous or feeling angry going to a boxing class actually calms me down... by his logic I should be ready to murder someone by the end of it

@@veganfortheanimals6994 I have to give it to him tho, it has been a long time since I heard an argument against veganism that I haven't heard 1000x times. This was totally new to me.
Ed needs to redo his TEDx talk; Every argument against veganism (bloodlust edition, vegans can't defend themselves from possible invasions from other animal eating countries).
I'm not sure if I agree. It is a little harsh to judge someone's character based on a live debate. Most vegans, me included, grew up non-vegan. If confronted by those arguments it is - as we know - basically impossible to produce any valid argument against veganism. He didn't know that yet. So basically what you expect from him is to immediately, on the spot admit to a stranger that the way he lived his life - how he was taught to think since childhood - is deeply immoral.
I am not at all surprised that he responded the way he did. However I'd caution you to conclude from this reaction in this unique stress situation about his personality. I don't think he walked away from this conversation thinking "man I did great. I am so proud of my arguments". Maybe this uneasy feeling of cognitive dissonance will cause him to think more about how he should have responded to Ed. And maybe this is the start of the process that you probably went through already? This stuff takes time - always. It is one thing to point out when someone is behaving immorally - I am all for that - but it feels somewhat cocky to pretend you could judge how someone's mind works based on how they try to come up with an argument that they still think exists. You probably (unconsciously) spent days, weeks, months or maybe even years to realize that this argument does not exist.
political correctness is causing it. I'm a meat eater and proudly say I support animal abuse to continue eating meat, I've got NOTHING to hide. It's vegans who are the problem!

After watching the video, I actually believe that in the future Vladimir might see some of the flaws in his argument and eventually become vegan. I think the fact that he contradicted himself so many times and in the end came to such a ludicrous conclusion (that Veganism will lead to a communist invasion), shows that he is grasping at straws in order to justify his actions.
Most of us weren't vegan from the moment we first heard about it, and it's unjust to judge people who are probably exposed to these ideas for the first time, for not immediately agreeing with Veganism. We're not capable of changing people's lifelong views in one swift conversation; the goal is to plant a seed that might sprout in a month, a year, or a decade. Ed made this man think about his actions, and whether it be consciously or subconsciously, a seed was planted.
It's also important not to mock Vladimir in the comments because at the end of the day, the goal of these videos is to provide vegans with better communication and debating skills so they are able to get their point across in a more coherent and convincing fashion, and to start conversations with non-vegans or provoke some thoughts about the subject in their mind.
By posting negative comments about Vladimir (apart from the fact that I think that's wrong) we might be portraying ourselves as less inviting towards non-vegans who have decided to watch the video and might want to discuss the topic in the comments.
It is important to remember that in the fight for Veganism, the animals, not us, are the focal point, as they are the ones being oppressed.
As hard as it may be, even when somebody completely disagrees with our fight, it's important not to antagonize people, because that will only lead society further away from Veganism.
Ed, you are an inspiration and I truly admire the work that you are doing for the animals, the environment and for justice! ❤️🐔🌱
Wow good empathy there and a reminder to the rest of us on why we are passionate about the vegan cause. Yep this is not about how Ed “won” or how ridiculous Vlad’s arguments are. This is about whether this is a starting point for Vlad (and others like him) to have an internal dialog.
Vlads gonna need years of therapy when he watches this in a few years time lol
@@RK-nq3fj I completely agree with you.
The notion that someone can win a debate, whose sole purpose was to educate and prokove thoughts is preposterous.
By portraying these debates as if they have a winner and a loser, we are making it even harder for people to move towards Veganism as that might now entail defeat in their mind.
As a matter of fact, if Ed "wins" the debate and manages to convince the other person to reflect upon his decisions, both sides have won. This is not a zero sum game.

Least you now know where you're going wrong!
My god where the hell do you live?
It’s not about how smart an animal is it’s about their experience and if they can feel every emotion, experience pain and are self-aware (which farm animals are) mentally disabled people may have the mental age of a 3-4 year old like a pig does but that doesn’t justify me killing them, and it also doesn’t make my life worth more just because I am smarter or posses more power because worth of life isn’t about power and intellect. If you think it is about power and intellect then you have to agree that all alien species who are smarter and more advanced have a higher worth of life than humans
Also we measure intelligence based on our own intelligence, so we can never really be objective
I love that he mentioned the promised neverland anime/manga. watching it as a vegan was refreshing just because of the non vegans reacting to it. It is a great way to see what 'ethical farming' might look like and how the 'farmed' creatures; in this case humans; still feel scared and still end up dying and once they figure out what is happening the fear is intensified because there is deception. obviously, humans have more intelligence but animals can still feel these basic emotions. And eventually they try to escape . it would be great to see Ed's reaction to it actually. an anime review with Ed sounds great.
I aspire one day to be as well thought and collected as Ed when he's having these conversations in these vids

The system (christian parents, school, politicians, news outlets, pastors) in which he's raised turned him into that, a dumb and ignorant young person, completely devoid of intelligence and critical thinking
I find it absolutely heart breaking my christian brethren have twisted the scripture. Adam named the animals and God gave all the creatures the plants to live.
I am vegan, called by God to eat this way. And that IS NOT WHAT DOMINION MEANS.
God has dominion over us, does He eat us? No. He cares for us and loves us. Like a Father.
That's what God intended for man and animals, to live side by side in harmony, love and peace.
