I haven't been in the water in like 2 years. Out in Bali for a wedding and decided to get a board and sponge the 2 days I was free. Being out in the water and now finding your channel is making me hype to get back into it.
Wow! I was on Male in 1997 before the bridge....that just blew my mind! Those are super cool waves and love the fishhanging out when you duck dive...That was cool to see water is still full of life...need to get my butt back there! Awe
Dude... You helped me so much with your vids and instructions... I can't thank you enough.. Although I am still struggling with forward spin and reverse spin..😂 Thank you for all the time and effort you put in 🤩 With much love , from 🇮🇱Israel ❤️🔥
I remember I watched your vids a lot when I was super into bodyboarding. I started surfing and found it more rewarding and fun. Still love your videos tho!
Love your vids man, youre a fucking legend, even for this old ass bboarder, been bboarding since mid 80's love watching new stuff. Headed to PR this next month, so stoked!! Working on my DK.
5:21 watch those knuckles! 🤣 For the groms just starting out, move your hands back from the nose when you're duck diving on reef if you value your skin! Ok for pros like Iain who know exactly how close to the reef he is though.
This is such a unique spot with all that urban structure around it. I wander if that bridge dices up the swell and affects the wave in any way? Looking forward to the rest of the comp. GO well bru 🤙
Yeah, it messed the wave up a bit. They have also put some break walls in that stop water from moving off the reef. Would have been a better wave before!
Push down with shoulders then one knee keep board flat. Try to get momentum by paddling first and try and drive down and forward with the dive. Timing either under the lip and through the unbroken wave or a second or two after it breaks going under the shock wave is ideal. Play around in dumpy surf diving under waves without a board and you will feel how you can get pushed underneath and behind the wave almost effortlessly if you time your dive. Then try to emulate that with your duck dive.
Beautiful footage, liquid glass, pleasure to watch ty. I've got an odd sounding request but hear me out. I'm still learning, only a month in, where on the wave do you catch green waves? It's seems hard to pick and I just know I'm going get flattened. Could you do a vid with a go pro facing front and back? Pictures say a thousand words I wanna know how the waves breaking, feedback on surface currents, what's happening in the next wave, so many things. I don't go pro so no idea how one would attach that, but if possible I reckon it'd be an awesome perspective to learn from, though I could be very wrong and its just a stupid idea. You see prspectives in first person, from shore on a 2D plane, occasionally drone, not really what's happening at the tail and surrounding context of what the waters are doing. Could just be a pain for no usable footage, could be wrong, dunno can't say I go out that far, yet.
@iaincampbell_ Thanks for giving a shot, hope it goes well and if it doesn't it doesn't. Im getting to see more riders at my local, its been incredibly helpful in this topic. Apparently you can catch them almost anywhere with differing levels of effort. Past couple of days have been gems for watching and learning, the good riders, the not so good and the brave. All have something to learn from. Passionate channels/people like you have been priceless thanks, especially learning lingo. Having words really helps break things down and notice smaller differences along the way that change the outcome.
@@iaincampbell_aww man, I know how that feels, I competed in the HSF Kaua’i circuit in the 80’s and 90’s and they would hold an event in 1-2 ft onshore shait
Isnt it possible to Just jump off that bridge? Is it too high or the reef too shallow?? there was this break where se jumped off a jetty directly into the lineup, because the paddle out was really long and hard when pumping, hoy Just has to time it right because ir not waves would smash you into the rocks

That’s awesome. Stoked to inspire. I rode my first event at 11 so not far off. Keep ripping bru!
Fist contest? You a fighter? How did a pro bodybuilder inspire you to punch?
awesome water is so clear.
Yes it was! So beautiful here…
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.

Looks like a fun place to get some warm water action! Thanks for sharing, bro. Good luck for the comp!
It’s a special place. Water is hot! 👌🏼🔥
3:49 revers roll💯💯💯
Reverse roll. Same thing I guess 👌🏼
Makes me want to dig the board out the garage for the first time in 12 months, however the conditions suck right now!
Gotta just get in and enjoy regardless of the conditions.
Unbelievable !!! I imagine taking the Wave. It's so nice in pov
It was! Thank you 🙏🏼

your crazy surfing on a Bodyboard
I’m actually just bodyboarding on a bodyboard.

Epic to hear and thanks for the support bru. Enjoy the trip to PR! Some sick waves there. Hope you score.

It’s not that shallow. Looks it but it isn’t. Plenty space.
@@iaincampbell_ the GoPro does that, looks so close.
I've drilled my knuckles a couple of times, one time bad enough to cut the session short.
Yeah, I’ve been there.
INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BRO⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
🤙🏼🤙🏼
❤❤absolute Heaven!!
Which way do you like turning better left or right
I really don’t mind. I’ll go either way 🤙🏼
Oh, I'm stuck going left
Find some more rights!!
Should have taken a trip out to Sultans, or Jailbreaks, such a good right.
I did in my other video:
ua-cam.com/video/BnzgLwc--YM/v-deo.htmlsi=efNNcZXsivP77aTT
do you use a gopro if so are you using the floaty thing around it
Yes on the GoPro. No on the float 😅
Wicked session bru 🎉🤙 it was weird seeing you without the camera in your mouth today🤪
You're awesome. Looking forward to your DK heats 🙌💫🤙
Thanks my bru! I surf without it more than often. Fun to change it up!

It seems so. They say it was less wedgy before, the pillars have added some interesting refractions

@@wavespoiler thanks for the info bud. Always amazes me how many different factors shape the wave
@@iaincampbell_shot Iain. Now it's a tricksy multiwedge 😅 looks super fun still.
I wish I live closer to the beach I bodyboard but I only go every weekend it’s like an hour away
Make a plan to move closer. The best things in life are by the beach 😉🤙🏼

I made a video about duck diving and about getting deeper. It will help:

GoPro hero 10

Are the boards fiberglass like proper surfboards ?
No, they have a hard plastic bottom but not like fibreglass. Also they don’t often break like surf boards.
Do you hit the reef every wipeout or just the big wipeouts?
Didn’t hit it at any time bru…
the video is incredible but I wonder how you managed to film your pov with the GoPro? 🤗.
Thanks. It’s with the bite mount.
@@iaincampbell_ Does it hurt at any point? Doesn't this damage your teeth?
@@Ex0tic-_-Arcs- have had some minor issues of getting hit in the nose by the GoPro but never had any issues with my teeth luckily!

Hey is this the mouth mount?
Yessir!
Did you see the 35 ft great white just below you when you duck dived ????
🤣🤣🤣
How large are these waves, 1 meter? Good job, great video!
Probably around 6-10 foot faces.
You should 100% come down to skeleton bay namibia
I would if I didn’t live in the UK now…

It’s really not a difficult paddle. Think it’s pretty illegal to jump off the bridge. The water pulls you out at that break so nothing too crazy.
Looks like alot of fun was it warm ?
It was 24C in the water most of the time I was there… very warm.
This reminds of back in the day willy pov
That’s my inspiration!!

Get back into it.
yeah man im from salvador
Get back on the boogie!! 😉🤙🏼

Sorry about that. There are some other boards in the range that may work.

I don’t understand what you mean…
