I think you've forgotten about the Addidas advert to showcase the Football World Cup! That certainly took off in the UK, and was No.1 in the charts soon after, as the younger folk took a great interest in this Elvis new release: Even my son said it didn't sound 'dated'!

I heard that song all my life. I am in my 60's. Not sure why it was "obscure" or forgotten, it was like many of his other songs, fantastic. I have not heard it recently, but I can tell you, I know all the lyrics and the tune is running through my head with memories of hearing it as a pre-teen and beyond.

My favorite song is Flaming Star from the movie as well, which I also believe was one of his better movies because it showed his skills as a bonafide actor. Another movie I loved was Charo and the song with a ballad, my other favs was his gospel music which flowed deeply from his heart and soul. I always felt he did well in these Western genres, and Even though these films didn’t do well at the box office, I also felt they were some of his better films and showed his acting abilities together with his talents. I didn’t care about all the girly movies, simply because all the women were after him all the time and this lead to more of the same genre but only in a different storyline. I felt he was being cheated from this acting arena, and from trying to get a chance to go and make a difference with it. I did love a good love story though, but it wasn’t the same without his own character development as in Flaming Star and Charo.
But as is today, so was it then also, sex sells. He was a sexy and handsome man, and Marilyn Monroe was a sexy and beautiful woman that was stereotyped as a dumb blond, she was NOT. She was quite intelligent. Who knows how far they could have gone if they could have had the chance to explore their own acting careers more than what was dealt to them. It would have been interesting to see how much more they could have done in their careers. RIP Elvis, Marilyn, regardless of all the hoopla, I definitely seen what others might have missed within your abilities and other talents hidden behind a marked genre. 👍❤️🙏🏼😇🎵

With all due respect, Elvis did Elvis wrong. What fans can't seem to understand is that Parker worked for Elvis and not the other way around. If Elvis really cared about making better movies or doing a world tour and if in fact the Colonel was holding him back then Elvis should have fired him. However, I believe that Elvis was motivated strictly by money; therefore, He and the Colonel were a perfect match.@@amypagekaviani5661

I don't believe what this narrator just said. Little less conversation Matt Davis. I'll be honest after his death but thanks to you too going through videos. I heard the song. I can't remember if I heard the remix first or Elvis versions first original version. Because you go back into and watched the clip of the movie that Elvis sings the song during the show of the movie and it sounded pretty really good. But the generation today there's more people today that lack different style music and that was probably really catchy to them back in the 60s the late 60s the late sixties Elvis picked out a lot of great songs but there was a lot of great songs he wanted to. For some reason the colonel captain from that. Colonel was not supposed to mess with the music. Elvis was supposed to do the entertaining and pick the songs and Colonel Parker was supposed to do the business part. Colonel held our man back. I heard a story said my Mac Davis that one of his friends came up to him. And said you have another hit. Matt Davis didn't even know about it he forgot about the. That came from him. Because the UK it went number 1 and a lot of different countries.well let's put it this way within the first 5 somewhere. Matt Davis made a ton of money once again by his friend Elvis. And the person that did the remake. See if Elvis would had better engineers back in the the day he would have had a hundred more hits. Because Elvis had so many songs that he recorded. That should had been the number one hit for. Even Memphis Tennessee should have been a hit for Elvis if it wasn't for Johnny Rivers screwing him over. Yeah you heard it right Johnny Rivers was Elvis's good friend back in the day. Elvis was working on recording, Memphis Tennessee and he happened to play it for Johnny Rivers, which Johnny Rivers it blew him away the way I was did it, before Elvis got to record the song, Johnny Rivers, hurry up arrange the song and recorded it got it on the, Elvis heard the song and he just couldn't believe that his friend would screw him over, needless to say they were never friends again, and that way they run into each other Elvis was a man and still introduce him did what he did with him whatever, the Memphis Mafia told the story after I was a died I was never told nobody, that's the way Elvis was that could have been another hit for Elvis and at the time I was could have used it, supposedly but Elvis's remarks he goes well if he needs that song that bad let him have it. Of course Johnny Rivers Rivers said it didn't go down that way he lied. Because there's nobody there to backup Johnny Rivers is story. But there were a ton of Elvis's people that told the story in a book and whatever it came out to be. That's why it took a little while for it to come out and I like Johnny Rivers I was disappointed when I heard him do that stealing a song from Elvis. So Elvis still cut the song but it didn't do as good because they already heard the song the song already was out there. But I wasn't cut it to a little bit later. Because Elvis's the way he thought and the rest of his people did not want to think that he was copying off of Johnny Rivers which it was the other way around. And I to even said his people Elvis's people said if Elvis would have got to record that song it would have went to number one. Johnny Rivers had a hit from it but it didn't go to number. Elvis was the man back in anything he's recorded what's the number one. In my opinion when they said Elvis's career was going downhill I don't believe that. Whoever started the rumor and whoever started it that's where it started. Cuz I've never once heard Elvis and any of his videos say he was worried about his career. It was always in a. Movie
    God bless the king

Neither version was a patch on the original, written and recorded by Chuck Berry.

Sad that Elvis' pictures have been run through AI. I guess it's so they don't have to get permission for the real photographs.

I have both versions. The original version is okay, but the remixed version, with Junkie's Junk Sound Additions, is discordant with Elvis's singing. The song's popularity had nothing to do with the song; it had to do with missing Elvis!

I guessed the song right off , reason he never performed the song, it is very difficult to sing, it's a real tongue twister.
