It's also the consequences for Chloe's actions. When you get with someone's else husband, there's always a chance he'll go back to his wife. Regardless, there's an innocent baby in the middle of this. Reuben deserves to grow up with his father and around his extended family. But I guess it's okay for Chloe to use her child as a pawn, take his away from a support system because her feelings were hurt.
You’re picking and choosing facts. All of them are as bad as eachother however Mackenzie was the worst behaved one. Every action has a consequence. You need to also jog your memory back because said “Dad” tried to force her into having an abortion, paying her off to live somewhere else? Threatening her? Leaving the mother of HIS child to die? Also you’re forgetting the simple fact he chose charity over his child over again? Now if this was a real life situation you would not be backing the man up at all? What has he done to prove that he’s a good dad…. Other than producing the sperm? He hasn’t stepped up. The right thing Mackenzie should have done was to choose his child and he didn’t… so why should Chloe stick around? He’s let his son down over and over again?
I kinda don't blame Chloe for leaving them behind once and for all especially after Mac heartbreakingly left her for dead in a car that fell off from a huge cliff. Charity shooting dead her dad (even when he was a sadistic brutal thug) accidentally is that jolt to make her leave. That girl got a whole lifetime of trauma to get her head around with a baby in tow, good luck to her.
