Thanks, Willow. Love to hear you do this -- tell the story of a book. I know I'm repeating myself but the experience of listening to you here is just so special. I have to repeat myself because you do so much of this so well! Thank you again.
Hi Willow, you have immaculate taste. I watch your videos before I start my day. You helped me rekindle my love for reading. So grateful for your channel.💚
I just finished this last night (as in: 3 in the morning bc I couldn't stop reading) and came looking for your review 😊 Glad you loved it as much as I did.
Wonderful review of a book I'm totally excited to read and thank you for introducing it to me!! And your hair looks GORGEOUS!!! I haven't gotten up the courage for my first "Post Plague" haircut yet! Send me good vibes because yours is beautiful!!🥰🥰🥰
Just finished it and I totally agree! Wonderfully written book about a very dark time-beautiful, evocative use of language. Yes, great protagonist in Rebecca West. I had no idea the Witch Finder General was in his 20s!
You hair looks amazing! I cut my own hair during lockdown (because UA-cam made me think I could) bad idea… I had it in a ponytail until the salons reopened 😂 Lovely review , looks like I’ll be adding another book to the TBR😅 Have a lovely day, take care💕
Damn Willow you hair looks better than mine 🤨 it looks wonderful. But really the only thing that matters is do you like it? That is what counts. Thanks for the awesome reviews. Keep on keeping on.
Just started this novel. The first page left me a bit confused, tbh. The best historical fiction on witch trials, imho, is Everyone Knows Your Mother Is A Witch. It’s v historically accurate, and it’s form of testimony adds to this.
This is another of your reviewed books that I've had to add to my list - and this is a gorgeous-looking one, too. Does is feel as nice in the hand as it looks? (I'm particular about hardbacks - I don't like them too big or shiny). I am thoroughly enjoying your videos, thank you.
I loved the Manningtree Witches, I know the language doesn't work for everyone but I really enjoyed it. It was also a book about loyalty and survival in the eyes of those who could see exactly what was going on. PS I see that VE Schwab has a new book out...forthcoming review?
On not related subject did Ishida Ira got some English translations of his books, I just got "Ikeburo West Gate Park" from library in French, and I was wondering if there is something else available in English. There is on more book translated into French apparently. I'm on the last story in the book, I really love it it is mostly sad as it touches on subjects of teenage prostitution, drugs, rape and murder, but I love the protagonist/narrator and it's not overwhelmingly morbid.
@@WillowTalksBooks it was sort of pitched on the back as a crime novel. Two first stories have a mystery element, the third one is a bit different, the fourth well I just started. The protagonist is 19th and ends up as a "problem solver" for the other youths beginning with murder of a friend. He's surprisingly resourceful and has his hart in the right place, while being rather an underdog, at least at the beginning of the story. He really develops as if goes. He makes me think of my end of the year fauvrite protagonist Jared from Eden Robinson's Trickster novels, a guy who definitely has bigger hart then brain.
You absolutely must! Don't let it sit for a year like I did! And I have come close to picking up Divination every time I see it in shops. It's gorgeous!

Omg you are too kind tbh but I'm so glad that you have rediscovered a love for reading. I love to hear that 💜
You are such a wonderful teacher. I feel back at University in class. Greetings from México

This sounds amazing - cannot wait to get to this ❤️
I promise it'll be worth you time!
Ooh! Always up for some witchy books, and this one sounds interesting.
It's one of the best, at least from what I've read!

Omg thank youuuuu 😭😭 Getting it cut was scary and lovely at the same time. I wish you all the good luck!
Looking (even more) fantastic Willow! 😁
omg thank you 🥺😭
Listening to this made me think that you must see The Devil’s Bath if you haven’t already. I think it’s just come out on Shudder now

Haha I love it honestly, and thank you 💜
Welp, you've sold me yet again. My TBR list just gets longer and longer...
You are welcome 😇

Have you read Hiding From the Light by Barbara Erskine? Similar theme but also wonderfully written.

I've definitely never read him before but I'll see what's available (if anything). If he's anything like Ryu Murakami, I'll probably enjoy him.

I also have tones of books I really want to read on my pile but somehow it takes me ages to get round to them.
The curse of loving books so much
@@WillowTalksBooks I know ❤
1) your hairs looking ‘the business’
2) love your videos but your costing me a fortune on books 😂
Thank you so much and I am truly sorry lol
Okay, maybe I should read my copy too. 🙃 Have you read Devotion btw? Curious to hear your thoughts.

@@WillowTalksBooks well I've bought it somewhere in May of last year. ;-) 10 months is not as bad as a full year, right?
It was 10 months for me as well, my birthday is at the end of April 😶 Better get reading!
