Caitlin has plenty of fans who just like her for the person and baller that she is and either don't care if she has some progressive values that may not perfectly align with theirs, and/or are supportive of those values. Yes, she may have lost some fans who don't like that she is not a poster girl for their particular set of beliefs and preferences, but I doubt that will result in a huge dent to her popularity, and even if it does, I'm proud of her for being true to herself and her values. I'll support her all the more for it.

Caitlin Clark gave me basketball. I literally hated it before, would watch anything before basketball. Now I'm reading an old text by Nancy Leiberman on how to train and play. At 70+, I have no illusion about getting very far, physically at least. But emotionally, I'm over the moon, taking pride in every little movement and tiny skill. All because of CC.

CC is a great student of the game. This is a kid that wants to be good if not great at every part of the sport of basketball. Hey haters, if you are a player in the W, or college, or a want to be basketball player, stay off the social media platforms and get into the gym and practice your craft. Maybe you too could break 63 college records, records in the W and just maybe you will end up on Time Magazine as athlete of the year.

Stubhub apparently didn't get the memo about CCs lost fanbase. As of 10 minutes ago 1st deck for Fever/Valkyries at Chase Center are going for $800-$1200. Only a couple of courtside seats available and they are almost $10,000. Actually got my 1st deck tix for a little less than $750 right before the Time article.

Agreed. His formula for success - skills, body development - seems very right for Caitlin. Also, she's had ankle issues early in her career and he did too, so maybe he can offer some guidance given how long he has played. He's also had to learn to hold up on the defense end to a reasonable degree, despite his size, which Caitlin also needs to learn to do, particularly when it counts the most. I do think Caitlin is already a better point guard/passer/facilitator than Steph has ever been.

So if the loudest complainers from last week were to weigh in on this video, their take would be that if Caitlin hadn't said what she said, the video would have over 4 million views rather than only one million. Or maybe, just maybe, she didn't lose QUITE as many fans as they wanted her to. The new Wilson merch may provide a different viewpoint if the ex fans were right about a drop off on people willing to do more than look, but support her by opening their pocketbooks. After all, looking is free, but money is a different thing altogether.

Low post, back to the basket play has faded. Now it's spread the floor and don't clog the lane. A sky hook like Kareem's was pretty unique. It's a hard shot to learn and requires a delicate touch from a very tall man (or woman).

She didn’t say anything wrong. “There is privilege “ well duh. Of course. So what. Our/my/your/her ancestors worked for it. It’s well deserved, but it’s there. They worked, saved, passed it on. Money, work ethic, world view, respect, traditions, all of it. And it’s our privilege to be the beneficiary and our responsibility to pass it on. But it’s there. No mystery. And nothing wrong with trying to remind people of Maya Moore s of the world. There is plenty of love to go around. That’s the kind of soul CC has-Generous. Nothing to be disappointed about.

Completely disagree on his view of LeBron's value in the Olympics, but I think it's an honest disagreement & I can respect that.
I think he's on point more times than not & continue to watch most - if not all his vids bc I can tell he knows a lot about basketball & loves the game. Idk why this concept is so difficult for so many people? Like I'd take a community based on shared love of the game, disagreements or not - rather than one based on lock-step agreement. The latter is phony & flimsy.

Caitlin Clark had some holes in her game during her rookie year in 2024. You watch this workout and a few things are readily apparent.
She been in the gym. Much more muscle definition in the arms and legs. I would expect she's picked up at least 5 more lbs. of pure muscle.
The drills dribbling around a high pick and then driving to the basket... that's where she'll need that muscle. Last year, she was too light and the opponent guarding her could move her off her dribble with their body. This year, that's not going to be easy anymore.
She's working on her passing. Last year? WAY too many errant, flat out bad passes resulting in turnovers. I note her passes in practice have force behind them, getting to the receiver quicker.
She's working on her handle on the dribble. Opposing guards picked her pocket regularly last year again resulting in turnovers.
I noticed she's working on stepping RIGHT and shooting. Her preferred release on her bombs and 3-pt. shots is a step to the left and elevate. So working on not allowing her defender to know which direction she'll go before getting the shot up.
Shooting... she continues to work on her floater she developed during the Olympics break as well as her midrange and layup shots. She's also still putting in a lot of time on her signature 3-pt. shots and shots further from the rim.
I predict that when the WNBA season opens in April... all Hell is going to break loose in the person of Caitlin Clark. She is going to be a markedly better player than last year, and I can't wait to see what's she bringin' to the party...
