Hi Andrew, thanks for the info vids on the Speedybee F405 fixed wing boards. I'm building up a Flik wing with a Speedybee F405 mini. Id like to run it with a 2S Lith ion battery. However the min voltage requirement for the board is 7V, so if you run the Lith ion batteries down to 3V a cell I'm guessing it wont run the flight controller? Interested to know what your thoughts are. Have you tested min voltage on the Speedybee boards? Ill go to 3s if i have to but im worried the extra weight will increase the wing speed more than id like. Thanks mate.
Afternoon(or morning) Andrew. I recently got the f405 Wing MINI. Off amazon. I am curious, Does the Walksnail Avatar HD GM3 Gimbal kit work with the SpeedyBee f405 mini? I can see it has a HD VTX cable area, but II could not find anything regarding an Avatar HD pro with gimbal kit + speedybee wing mini INAV setup.
@roland7751 Can you connect to INAV and see the animation moving? Might be USB drivers or cable or other programs open like CURA. Also try with GPS disconnected
@AndrewNewton with inav 7.1.2 I can't, but I downgraded inav to 6.1 then there was an animation moving. With inav 7.1.2 I couldn't even open the animation and all that stuff because my fc is on version 6. Everything is disconnected. I tryed: Change USB cable, Chance USB port and a different computer... With inav 6.1 it workes so can I just use that? And a happy New year
Hi Andrew, have you used the Speedy Bee App to upgrade firmware on ELRS receivers.? I believe it is the fastest and easiest way. It might be worth a quick tip video if you are so inclined, Cheers from across the ditch.
I have been using Frsky for a few years now for airplanes (Taranis X9D) Is it still worth buying the FrSky R9M for long haul flights or should I switch to Elrs?
@@AndrewNewton I like the Frsky system. There is no problem buying the R9M module or the ELRS module today, so the dilemma is whether to stay with Frsky or choose a new path.
Select Serial Rx for UART1 in the Ports page then choose CRSF as the Serial Receiver Provider in the receiver page. They ou just have to make sure your receiver is bound to the radio. More INAV tips here - newtonairlines.blogspot.com/2023/06/inav-trouble-shooting-checklist.html
@@AndrewNewton 😂 Ah well, you're 1 up on me mate. Despite living and working around the local Sons Of Italia up here for a lifetime, the only language that I picked up was the words flying out of a gent laying in the mud, burnt trash and leaking hydraulic oil under a cane harvester. Not really helpful in dealings with the Carabinieri! 😱🙄😈
Brilliant Andrew, just what I have been looking for.
Great video
Worth making the video then, thanks
again..top Video ! Andrew ❤
Thanks again!
Thanks Andrew 👍💪✌
Thanks mate. I really appreciate your constant support.
Thank you this is the exact set up I want on my jets!
No problem 👍
I am just about to do this very thing! Thank you !!
Good luck
Great video, thank you for doing these. I could never get the OSD to work on my DJI O3 Air and DJI Googles.
Thanks. That was an 03 problem I think.

I haven't tested low voltage while flying, but the board shuts down under 5v on the bench. I wouldn't want to risk it in the air.
@AndrewNewton Thanks mate appreciate it

Morning. Yes all you need is power (Vv) for gimbal and HD VTx, and UART R and T, and maybe PWM outputs if you also want PWM control
Can you use the f405 wing with a normal reciever like one with 6 channels?
And great Videos🎉
Thanks. No, most FCs need a serial receiver these days with all channels on one wire.
@AndrewNewton I mean a Graupner gr 16 because I bought a o3 Air Unit and I read that you can't use it without a FC
@roland7751 Yes that is a serial and PWM receiver so you can use SBUS to connect to the Speedybee
@@AndrewNewton OK thank you very much.
Keep it up with your videos
Need to buy a parralel to serial converter
I connectet it up for the first time but cant get it in dfu mode pls help me
Hold down the DFU button while connecting or type dfu in to the CLI.
@ Yes i‘ve tryed everything Like to load a older firmware

Happy New Year! That's good, it means your USB connection is fine. Yes you can just use 6.1 if you can't get DFU working.

Not yet Paul. I should look at it thanks
Thank you, Mr., but could you please tell me how to configure Bing Map in INAV Configurator?
Have to ask on the INAV FB group. Bing Maps are discontinued.
As far as i knoe it's not possible anymore :( I tried to set it up
Can i also do this with the MINI version?
Yes, all the same apart from the MINI having VBat for VTX rather than a dedicated BEC
I have been using Frsky for a few years now for airplanes (Taranis X9D)
Is it still worth buying the FrSky R9M for long haul flights or should I switch to Elrs?
No real reason to switch, unless you need to replace your radio or can't buy R9M anymore. But ELRS is very good, pretty much all I use now.
@@AndrewNewton I like the Frsky system. There is no problem buying the R9M module or the ELRS module today, so the dilemma is whether to stay with Frsky or choose a new path.
Hello. Im using an analog 2w analog vtx..i plug it in f405 mini wing vtx port..will the flight controller not overload..?
VTx power on the Wing Mini is direct connection to the battery, so very unlikely to overload anything.
@AndrewNewton thank you for confirming..im new with sb f405 wing mini and inav..thanks a lot on your videos..

You been hitting the Spaghetti Bog a bit lately Old Fellah? It seems to be affecting your hands there! 😜🙄🤣🤣
Haha, my hands do speak a little Italian
