That Askren vs Masvidal fights is one of the biggest UFC what ifs ever. Askren would have very well beaten Jorge and went on to be champion, and stayed undefeated and could be looked at as a great, as weird as it is. But now Ben is looked at as a meme and Jorge is a superstar lmfao crazy how things work

I think he probably does control Masvidal for the entire match, but seeing how slow Askren had gotten with age/bad hip, he probably would have come out of it looking pretty bloody, much like the Lawler fight.

Can we quit acting like Poirier isn’t a natural WW? Dude cuts a ton of weight to make 155.. Colby barely cuts to make 170.. that’s his natural weight, doesn’t cut a bunch to bully on smaller guys. DP walks around at 180 easily just look at his build.. fair call out by Colby and both are similar in weight let alone both should be in the same class at 170.

@@oldironsides4107 Colby fights in his natural weight class, barely cuts at all could easily take a fight on a weeks notice if he needed to. Also he’s the only one taking rounds from what many call the P4P champ right now and the greatest WW of all time. Also to compare DP to himself at 145 proves your lack of knowledge.. just look at the photos.. DP even if he wanted to could never in a million years get backdown to 45’ for comparison; Conor fought Cowboy at WW. Go back and watch the DP vs Conor fight and tell me out of the two who would be the one that could fight at WW based solely on build.. DP is a WW.. he even stated that he walks around at 182. He knows he’d get worked by every single guy in that WW weight class.. which is why he weight bullies instead. I mean outside of Conor who has DP beat thats any good let alone at the top of the LW divsion? Justin? Which was Justins 2nd or 3rd fight in the UFC 4+ yrs ago. He hasn’t beaten anybody at the top EVER.. lol please don’t be ignorant and bring up Max Holloway when Max is a much smaller guy. But DP soo good that now He wants Nate.. a has been for the last 6+ years still riding the coattails of that Conor win in 16’.. lol. Askren join the ufc after he was retire for 2 years or more, in his prime he dominated Lima in bellator which I think is a way better fighter than Masvidal.

This is crazy how Jorge is now more a less in the EXACT same position as Ben Askren in 2019. 3 straight losses (The Robbie fight was basically a loss), with retirement looking like the best option. Less about Karma and more about time. Eventually time gets everyone. I don't care how unbeatable you think you are. Time is literally undefeated. Except for Khabib, GSP, and Triple C. They got out before time could get them.
Masvidal losing to usman and Covington is not the same position as Ben getting flat lined in 5 seconds, losing to a washed up Maia, and KOd by a UA-camr lol

@new channel masvidal spend longer on the ground and didn’t get finished. I never want to hear bens name mentioned as a top fighter at any point of his career. The moment the competition went up he got clowned repeatedly. Guy has the lowest fight IQ of anyone to be ranked in UFC history. Which is funny cause he arguably never won one ufc fight (everyone knows the lawler fight was comical)

@@Silent43192 Nah, Ben's weight class was more competitive in the ufc at the time of his prime. Fedor actually had better heavyweights at his disposal where he was during his prime. So I think it's easier to gauge what level Fedor was at. But at 170 the ufc DEFINITELY had the better fighters.

I’m not a fan of critiquing other peoples tattoos, but I do feel like Jorge could’ve done a really cool piece directly on the knee, if he wanted to pay homage to it.
That right knee singlehandedly changed Jorge’s life, I feel like there’s potential for a dope tattoo there.
Yeah a simple 5 second KO or UFC record tatt on the knee would have been more humble.
When Ben got koed by Jorge I've always felt he should've rematched asap. That knee would not happen again. And if Ben used his wrestling, he had a good chance of winning. Ben lost his confidence and didn't last in the UFC. But Colby did what Ben could've done. A little bit of redemption for Askren perhaps.

He’s become a much better fighter. His fights pre rda were lame af. His more recent fights have been waaay more exciting. Like the usman fights, the woodley fight and the Jorge fight

Dustin VS Colby is the fight to make. If Dustin wins it is his fastest way to a title. Colby wins it’s just buying time. Colby Vs Burns/Khamzat isn’t a PPV main event. It’s a Co main or fight night card. Dustin and Colby is a ppv main event if Dustin plays along. Even if Dustin looses at 170 he is in the same spot he is in at 170. Probably will have to fight RDA, Looser of Islam/Daruish, Candler or Tony.
