Hey, I really hope you enjoyed this last episode of Croatia 🚵‍♂, the same way I did while biking it. In the next episode I will bike through Montenegro and climb a mountain near Kotor, cross the entire country and reach Albania. Can't wait to show you my experiences, it was pretty wild! 🤙

      Hi, Nice Job!
Aren't the roads dangerous for a bicycle? Especially when the car can't see around the corner.
How was your experience with dangerous situations on the roads.

Thank you! That's a difficult question, your question made me even thinking to make an entire video about this topic. My biggest problem with biking on the street is that I need (sort of) blindly trust the drivers, so I want to make it as secure (for me) as possible, on streets like this it is important to stay on the right side as far as possible (usually the roads are pretty big) but also be not too right to make sure the drivers don't make crazy takeovers. After a while you also learn how the drivers in certain countries are and to which kind of mistakes they tend, with exception from the area around Pula Croatia was pretty ok - although I saying this now because I saw way worse at that time I was pretty worried. What I also use is from Garmin the Varia Radar which indicates and warns me about coming cars also I try to warn the drivers with an intense red light on the radar.
I had several dangerous situation on the whole tour, all of them because of either reckless, untrained or drunken drivers but with actively monitoring the situations and trying to predict what the drivers will do (even if that would be ridiculous (like ghost-driving)), you somehow need to calculate with that. Usually I try also to take roads that are not that frequented but yes sadly there is some risk left.
That was a pretty long answer and there would be even more to write about but I think eventually I really will make an entire video out of it.

@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial I rode my bike from Denmark to Berlin, and only had this problem with trafic for a short distance.
But just that made me very afraid. I can't imagine how your trip was 😵‍💫.

As a croatian, this was a beautifull video. i couldnt stop watching it. good job o fdisplaying the Jadranska magistrala. I have to say, even driving from Rijeka to zadar by those roads is pretty tedious after 4 hours, cant imagine doing this for days on a bike.

Thank you for your comment! Really glad to hear! It was pretty though on some parts but the views everywhere were just amazing. The whole ride was one of my favourite parts of my entire trip.

Thank you :-) I got a bit pressured in finishing the tour since it was getting too cold 😅. So I decided to not produce while on the road and focus only on biking, but since last week 👌

Next time you go neat Slano, it is a good idea to get up the mountain road. The view over the elaphiti islands is awesome. But everywhere you go on the coast of croatia, the views are astonishing.
I camped on a hilltop close to Dubrovnik (Orasac) in one of my videos. Orasac is the time where you stopped at the bakery to get an icecream. The views on hilltops are the best.
Summer in Croatia is hor so much respect for you to do that on a bike. 💪

Thanks for your comment 😊 will check your video. I can imagine being on the top of the hills must be amazing, although I am happy I didn't do it with the bike 😅 I plan to be next year in Croatia for some hikes, and really looking forward to exploring more on the hills and mountains. A really stunning country

My god! You have a lot to learn before you "open a bike shop." Do you know what a Schaeder valve is? You will learn this when you buy one and discover you have a Presta bike pump. Schwalbe tyres have a Kevlar strip reducing punctures. I had 17,000 kms before I had a puncture. Check the tyre inside and out for almost invisible tiny glass and steel wire from car tyres. You're doing well, and I enjoy your clips, never forgetting the work involved.

Haha it was not meant so seriously except of fixing tubes and cleaning or oiling the chain I am pretty useless 🥹😅
Nice I read a lot of could things about Schwalbe, for a tour like this which one would you recommend (a lot of road but also some gravel here and there)
      Thank you 😊

George if you dont want flatties no more , consider a solid tyre , never flatties again !

I was thinking of tubeless tires, but solid also sounds nice. Can you recommend some for Gravel?

@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial Solid tyres have never taken off because they are problematic in different ways. Generally regarded as uncomfortable, with poor grip, heavy and with no ability to adapt tyre pressure to your weight or the terrain. Can be very hard to fit too.
I run tubeless and carry an inner tube just in case, but it's been years since I needed one. In last decade I'd say 50% of my flats were with tubes. But only rode with tubes for about a month in that time - on new or test bikes. On group rides there's no very rarely waiting for folk to fix flats - unless they have tubes. Tubeless also means you can run lower pressures with no almost zero chance of a snakebite puncture. This also means more comfort, more grip and less rolling resistance. Biggest improvement to cycling in my lifetime.
