- Today we are taking y'all out on a spring crappie fishing journey where we show you several different methods you can use to catch big slabs throughout all parts of the spring season! Congratulations kids. My wife and I fished together in our younger years. You two remind me of my wife and I. We've been married 54 years in August. Wow it's been a great trip with Cole and Jay just watching you two grow has been amazing. I still remember when you're boat motor got messed up and you didn't know if or when you would be able to get back on the water and then Jay suprized you with a new boat and now just look at you go. An intresting fishing video might be had from floating the Cadron from the hwy 107 bridge to hwy 310 bridge. Or short one come out at end of Barney rd. Just an idea lol.

There are two different kinds of fish I love to eat. Flounders and crappies. My dad and I did a ton of crappie fishing in the 60s. My mother would cook a huge bunch of crappies and pike them high on a turkey platter.
I'm soooo jealous of you I don't get to fish much but if it warms up some I might try for some Crappie there aren't many here in Colorado but I know some places to try. One of the best fish in the world to eat. Jay you are looking pretty good it must be all the good clean living and remember the Big Guy up there doesn't count the fishing time against you. God Bless

Sometimes my dude, you just have to go for it regardless if the weather is chill or not, sometimes you can catch some really good sized fish when the weather sucks, just depends on the time of day when they're moving and all, but yeah definitely get out there with the missus and slab it up. Solid fishing and tight lines my man lol

Is this flooded from the lake overflowing,, or a creek flooding the timber from rain. Are beaver dams a problem there, like East Texas?

Little tip for any fishermen out there, in my experience, if you’re catching yellow stripe, there’s a very strong chance there are crappie in that spot too. I prefer eating them yellow stripe over crappie actually. But they love to be in the same place as each other in my years of fishing experience
