I think a big problem with these radio performances is they're in the morning, and bands don't do mornings so well. I've seen a few bands on here that are less than impressive, but at their live shows they kick behind. I just saw Alt-J recently and they were fantastic. I put this down to an off day or something.
Every live version of this song sounded horrible so far. Absolutely no power on vocals and guitar… which are the most important parts in this song. Seriously, James Bay did a better version of it. And no, I'm actually an Alt-J fan and find James Bay boring as fuck.
I saw them in concert with the first album as well and I agree! It was pretty darn good. However, every single performance of their second album I've heard online so far was subpar. Lacking the energy of the recording, or any energy at all. It seems for example, as if the frontman is not able to play the Left Hand Free Riff & sing at the same time comfortably. He fucks up atleast once in every recording I've heard. I feel that they kind of overwhelmed themselves with producing the album. Like in they first wrote the track with a computer and then realized that it's fucking hard to play live and now don't give a shit. I don't know maybe it also is tied together with the fact that one of their members left. They seem to be alot less passionate. For example, compare their Dr. Dre Cover to that Disclosure Cover. These are worlds. Anyways, I'll see them on Feb. 13th again, so it's better to judge afterwards. I really hope they get their act together. And I only think so much about this stuff because I actually really like this band^^
SpaceDisco1 You're in for a good show, I saw them a couple months back. To be fair, it's REALLY hard to play that riff while singing XD. But I take your point, the new album is definitely more laid back overall and feels less inspired to me too. Couple good songs but pretty "meh" in general. The put on a great show though!
like 'agreen182' said....it ain't easy playin' breakfast tv at 7 am after sleeping only 3.5 hrs and doing the same thing the night before for 2 hrs...also after 31 days straight of 2 hrs per night.
Veins in my forearms turn to garden hoses when I'm playing lol. Blood flow to muscles in your wrists and hands has to increase to feed oxygen to the muscles, so your veins dilate to allow more blood to circulate through the area. Also, you're whipping your hands around, so centrifugal force comes into play a bit. The human body is a crazy thing.
Love this song, can't wait to see them
Live in Dallas!!
I remember when this first came out, someone on NME posted, that that there is a B-side song for this called "Right Hand Wanking"
I think it is a great studio performance... they are the ones for me...I got my left hand free up in the air for them...
Awesome! Can't wait for the album!
Awesome Band!
That organ and the orchestra isn't featured on the radio version of this but I rather like it. Catchy tune.
I love this.
Esta rola esta chelera
you might want to try singing in tune there boss
thehonestlytruthful1 okay buddy, open your ear channels and prepare for sheer awesomeness.

this live singing is pretty terrible. no wonder he uses such distorting heavy radio autotune
Dry Profit I don't know what you're talking about, I'd gladly be 'pretty terrible' if that's what I sounded like!

IDK I saw them in concert and it sounded awesome. Maybe it just doesn't come through a recording or something.

Gordon Brown? 1:20... Rock and roll
Yay
Solid
❤
I quite like the drum style in this cover.
Gordon Brown???
Who's playing the other guitar part that comes in at the end of the of the main riff?
I think Gus is triggering it as a sample
He sounds like christopher cross
What is the last song?
whats up with the drummer's lower left arm?
I was wondering about that too.
Taraisnotonfire Big ass vein?

Ur right...his lower arm is like Frankenstein!!
Nothing to do with the drumming he has an illness he also has to wear hearing aids
Did gwil leave ?
You guys should listen to James Bay's version, just sayin!
Gordon Brown
captain america civil war end credits good cover ;D
legoshowtv it's not a cover. He wrote the song..
Left hand free..... its not good for winter soldier aka BUCKY
great track but this live version sounds like a demo, no balls
This doesn't really sound like something Alt-j would play and you can hear they don't have much interest in this song
Did gwil leave ?
He did, but they're all still friends apparently, no hostility.
