I remember going into a B&O retail store in the Dallas Galleria in the late 80’s as a poor high schooler and thinking “D@MN that’s overpriced!” Many years later and much wealthier, I’m like “D@MN that’s expensive for what it is!”

The sub is a Beolab 19. Noting that if you have a BL19 and there are other speakers in the mix you might not need a BL19 because the system will take the speakers with the best bass performance and use that. BL19 +18 is a good combo.

I remember going into there shop and seeing a 6 disc changer and thinking 🤔 it looks so familiar. It was a Sony car changer converted for home use. The salesman was like it’s a B&O changer, that takes Sony magazines ..😊. But I still enjoy them.

Any recommendations for a pair of stereo main speakers, in a 30 x 18 ft living, that 80% of the time are used for music playback - BUT, that critical 20% of the time, must work seamlessly in a home theatre setup. $20K budget, just for the speakers. Any good recommendations & reasons for choosing that pair would be helpful!

The main concern is lip sync. The latency in wireless digital speakers is long. An AV Receiver with passive speakers or using analogue active speakers presents little problem. The line level output on most TV is perfect for stereo. The headphone 3.5mm can be used but the DAC is not usually very good. The optical cable to an optical to line level RCA L/R is lossless.
Speakers with HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC (if the screen supports those) work fine - but most powered and active speakers will not scale up to surround. e.g. Kef LS50 II wireless or Kef LS 60. B&O use powerlink inputs RJ45 cables or wireless (WiSA). Wi-fi has 336ms latency and that applies to 3.5mm analogue, fibre optic. Apple 4K TV will work in stereo as Airplay controls the audio latency. You need a TV with WiSA or a WiSA transmitter such as Soundsend. WiSA (powerlink) is under 36ms latency.
Beolab 28 have a lower bass than Beolab 18 and previous tower speakers (6000, 8000 etc). Sub-woofer is not really needed unless you want the 14Hz of Devialet Phantoms. They have more bass than most speakers in this price bracket. They can be connected to most TV with a powerlink adapter (trigger) so that the remote on the TV powers the speakers up. Sounds Heavenly (UK based) can supply the right cables. Beolab 28 can be floor standing or wall mounted (preferably not on a stud dry wall but brick). Buchardt A500 and floor standing A700 with the stereo hub look more conventional and are wireless (WiSA). Dutch & Dutch 8c, Dynaudio Focus 30 & 50, Kii Audio Three, ATC SCM40A.
Seamlessly however still might be an issue. Analogue active speakers are the simplest way no fancy digit conversions, delays or room corrections needing further correction to work with video/TV.

@@geraldmcmullon2465 Yeah, I'm thinking about going with the PS Audio FR20s. Seem like extraordinary value & I love the aesthetic too. Plus, within my budget.

With the Beosound Theater having so many features including control over other B&O speakers and at a price point closer to Beolab 18 than Beolab 28 what are the benefits of Beolab 28 +18 +19 compared to Beosound Theater + Beolab 28 or 18 for rears with/without Beolab 19?

How long does it take to get a beard that length? Mines been a few months and I can’t even eat runny eggs biting into a sandwich without it getting in my beard!
