Actually, in some instances, yes. You post an emoji like it's 100% certain the AVP wins every time. I have both, it doesn't. The AVP can actually be extremely irritating to use in bed watching content. Unless you stay on your back always, and keep your lights on or use infrared emitters, always. Firstly, let's say you want to lay in a different position. Now you have to move the screen, and resize it. Let's say you just by mistake touch the bottom sensors to the pillow, BAM the movie cuts out and you're kicked to the homescreen with a "Tracking Lost" message. So actually, a lot of the times I reach for AR glasses to watch movies in bed. I plug them in, start a movie, and don't worry about the hassle. Plus the PPD is actually higher, and looks sharper than the Vision Pro. It's not so cut and dry, bud. Apple needs to fix their software or at the very least allow a bed movie watching mode that disables hand tracking, sensor tracking, and turns it into a pair of "dumb" AR glasses.
bro somehow read more meaning into a single emoji than I've ever witnessed... which is impressive, cuz I once had my gf ask me why a girl at a party posted me in her BeReal with a heart emoji while my gf was out of town.
which, for the record, wasn't as bad as it sounds.... gf was on a trip with her mom, it was a new years eve party (we didn't even have alcohol), and the heart was certainly referencing the selfie which had like 6 people in it.. but I was standing away from everyone so I was the only one in the main picture. The girl clearly didn't think about how that caption would look for someone scrolling through without looking closely at the selfie pic XD Fortunately my gf was cooler about it than carlosdominguez3108
I do have both, Xreal Air 2 Pro and now Xreal One for almost a month now. Is it worth upgrading from the old one ? Yes it is worth it for a 100%. Picture quality and sharpness on the edges it's almost perfect now, speakers are bit better but nothing huge. Microphone still sucks, it's good for phone calls but nothing else, sound quality from the microphone is really poor. The biggest difference of course is the build-in chip and finally I don't need my Boom Pro that often. Finally I can use my Xreal One with any laptop, gaming console like PS5 or mobile phone, stick the image in one spot, set the size of the display and it's distance and do my work or play a game without need of any external device (like Boom) or any external software. Xreal One is also great companion with Samsung DEX. I never use DEX before and now I do, every single evening ! I may upgrade to Xreal One Pro once they come out in March, will see.
@@opit30 thanks for sharing your experience! I agree with basically everything you mention. I’ve used the mic many times on calls and never had a complaint but I do know that my MacBook mic would be better 99% of the time.
Thank you! No one is speaking about the blurry edges. I was looking everywhere. It was my main reason to not get the older glasses. But the new ones don't have it at all? Or is it just not really a problem anymore?
@Morrisen you still have some blur on the edges, but now only on the very edge of the screen. 99% of the screen is sharp I would say. Xreal One Pro is coming out in March and it will be even better.
@@Morrisen the reason for the blurry edges is your IPD . Now you can change the IPD on the glasses itself. It's not perfect, ideally you want to measure your ipd to see if you can adjust via the internal software of the glasses. @@jacobspang21 they can do 4K, I asked. But that would make them far more expensive and that would make these much harder to recommend at ~$1000 versus $500 for negligible difference in quality
Nice thanks for asking. TBH I would pay $1000 for 4k, if you think of these like a TV it's a similar price. I think specifically for me it's hard to justify buying these when I have TVs and Gaming monitors at higher resolution. But perhaps I'm not the market they are advertising towards. I've been using XReal Air for a year. I like the fact that I can lie down and watch whatever I want. Will consider upgrade to XReal One. This thing may not be perfect but I can't think of any better solutions yet. I wouldn't call it AR glasses though. More like display glasses.
How transparent is the transparency mode? Would you feel comfortable walking around or being in a work environment while wearing these? My work involves referencing a monitor at times, and it would be helpful if I could see the monitor in my field of vision. Also, what is the field of view at the top of the glasses? It looks like that's where the projector is, so does it block your view at the top of the glasses?
Maybe I am blind(pun intended), but I cannot see off hand on the website or in your video(maybe I missed it) are these glasses only if you dont wear glasses or have to have contacts in to use them? Thanks! Looks interesting! Ah, I found it on the Amazon site at the bottom in the details....
@DancingDave1 It’s an English idiom used to describe something that’s extremely close, attached or inseparable. The colour white is inherent to rice in its cooked form - suggesting, “I’ll be all over it”. Hope that makes sense. I’ve never thought I had to explain that, but anyway - there you go.
@ it's not only good for games anymore, I use it for movies and series sometimes too, and the passthrough is better now. Not as good as vision pro but good to be $500 And a big jump from Quest 2, that was black and white lol
@ yeah I bought one right before I got the Vision Pro and just wasn’t a big fan of anything except the gaming. I hope the Quest 4 is as big of a step up as the 3 was so I can revisit it. I feel spoiled now with Vision Pro though
Not a fan of the company. Just sold mine. The hardware is ok but the software is awful. My question is why are the frames so big? There doesn't seem to be a good reason for it. Why can't the glasses be close to the same size as the screens?
Yeah your bias towards the vision pro, or even the comment about using ultrawide setting with mac vs iphone. The apple bias is pretty strong, even if unintentional. I'm sure android would probably handle it better, let alone windows. So I wonder.
Don't use DoF abbreviation for "degrees of freedom" In terms of VISION DoF is "Depth of Field". WIKI literally : "The depth of field (DOF) is the distance between the nearest and the farthest objects that are in acceptably sharp focus in an image captured with a camera." It's ok if you'll use it in different cases but stay away from this when you discussing glasses or cameras please !
