Instead of soldering, you can make it much easier by getting a pack of 12 - 10 connectors from your local auto parts store. It saved me a ton of hassle!
Great video. It looks like the first link for batteries above (the one that says "Upgraded") is for only the MX650. Is that right, or would that work on the MX500 and is there an benefit to using the superior battery on the MX500? Thanks
I just put brand new batteries on my sons, the old ones were swollen, I am assuming the new batteries have to be changed? I put them on and only get s clicking noise when the charger is plugged in
great video , I have a question, I replaced the Razor MX650 stock batteries with Vmaxtank 15ah batteries, I also bought the matching BC3602 charger, My question is this, when I plug it in and try to charge the batteries a red light flashes on the snart charger/ according to the paperwork its "desulfating" How long does it take to desulfate? it has been 4 hours , do new batteries need desulfating? thanks for any information you can give me, Phil M
Thanks for this! Thinking of changing the batteries for my MX500. What makes the the 650 and 500 different with with how much weight it can hold and how fast it can go?
I have replaced batteries and get 37 volts from batteries prior to controller, but only 30 from the controller. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks
5 years later and it's the gift that keeps giving. Great video clear concise followed step by step and boom Razor had new life!!
Thank you!

What size are those battery terminal connectors? This is a wayyy better idea

So when you buy them do you have to buy 3 instead of just ordering it
Say if you put a 36v 15ah battery in the mx500 will the rest of the bikes components be fine taking the 15ah?
Did you reuse the charger and charging port?
Is there any limit on how high you can go on amps ? Batteries plus has some that go all the way up to 100 amps.
Would these batteries work with an SX500??
New subscriber here. Thanks for this Tip. I just scored a mx650 for $40 same color with all batteries shut. Will be buying this batteries soon
Can you mix match battery sizes?
What percent does this increase your range?, about 40%?
How is the stock razor charger for these upgraded batteries?
Do you think the 36 volt system can handle 40 volts ?? I'm considering swapping in my power tool batteries

Great video! Thank you for being so thorough. I just purchased a used 500 that was taken apart and your video will be a huge help. 👍
How fast dose th mx650 go with the new batterys
The same
Best wiring explanation
Is it possible to have 2 12 V 15 amp batteries and 1 12 V 12 amp battery in an MX 500 running in series and are they the same size and dimensions?
Your capacity is then limited to 12Ah. Weakest link in the chain when series connecting dictates what your pack is then.
You can use a car battery also but I'm not sure if it would affect performance as I don't know what mine ran like as it should as I got it junked out
Thanks! Great video. Very easy to follow.
Definitely helped thank you
Looks like both batteries will work but the 15 AMP HOUR model might result in longer run times, depending on weight, etc
Say if you put a 36v 15ah battery in the mx500 will the rest of the bikes components be fine taking the 15ah?
I get a green light on my charger. But barely runs minute or two,not much power either.
Instead of soldering or connecters, you can just use electrical tape and hotglue
So how much run time do you get now with the battery upgrade and are the batteries still performing well today?
Mike Carlson depends on your weight
Thank you

David Rivera 650 watt can go faster and I think they hold the same weight and the 650 can do jumps maybe not big but like mountain bike jumps
Could you wash it even though it’s electrical
I would wash it by hand and only the metal and plastic pieces. Avoid getting water near the motor (right next to the rear wheel) and the batteries.

Thanks for the video .
Thanks!
Like thanks 😊
Can you change my razor mx650 Battery I have a new one
Can I please get a shoutout 😢
