I've been struggling with Bm for WEEKS and all I was getting was muting and hand cramp (after I realised to move my thumb down for support) but that tip for using the side of my index instead of the front is a game changer! Just tried it and it played beautifully. Thank you! Just a beginner but it was so frustrating that I couldn't get it at all.

thank you! Very helpful. I was having trouble with B flat 7. It helped when i used my ring finger on the 2nd fret instead of my middle finger. Then I could add extra pressure with the middle finger on top of the index to bar.

that little sidenote about the thumb pressing against the back is actually very very helpful! I don't know why it didn't occur to me, but it's so much easier for me to play barre chords this way! It completely changed my sound

Thank you so much I can now play barre chords. It was actually quite easy for me even though I haven’t been playing a year yet. Although the barre chords with both the middle and ring finger are a bit tricky I’ll get them soon

I think my finger is bleeding AND ALL OF THE STRINGS ARE STILL MUTED😫😩 Edit: It’s been 3 months and I still can’t play a barre chord Edit: 6 months, and I am getting pretty close.

Thank you, girl! I was actually avoiding barre chords, yet your explanation was so effective, I’ve begun to embrace them.
This hurts my wrist and fingers a lot, and I have to push REALLY hard to make sure that the strings are making enough noise.

You can do it! Barre chords can be difficult at the beginning even if you have long fingers. It just takes practice:)
