Lechon Cebu, Ukoy and Lechon Liver Sauce 🇵🇭 | Trying Filipino Food in New Jersey
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 гру 2022
- I traveled to Bergenfield, New Jersey to try Filipino Foods for the first time. Watch me react to Lechon Cebu (whole roasted Filipino suckling pig). I also try homemade lechon sauce (lechon liver sauce) and I try ukoy (okoy) a Filipino shrimp and vegetable fritter. It was such a privilege to try Lechon because I have been looking for this Philippines whole roast pig for a long time. This Filipino Lechon restaurant serves it on weekends, the pinoy hospitality was awesome too!
Episode Intel:
New Barbecue Pit
100 N Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621
Reggie Ate: Lechon Baboy (Cebu Lechon), Ukoy (Filipino shrimp and green papaya fritters), siling labuyo (Filipino chili) and lechon sauce.
Love how eats, no fake reaction just eating and reviewing food
This vlogger has a very good voice indeed. He sounds like a kind person.
this guy knows filipino food just by looking at it. impressive :) come to the PH. we will be glad to have you here
He knows the names of the food because he's eaten them before.
@@teegirlawesome you made a point but not everyone will easily remember the names and how to pronounce them. very seldom
I believe he's a Chef
@@reidarylbatica9221 So you dont think he writes the names of the food down or looks it up during editing? If you go to turo-turo restaurants, the majority of them will serve the same food. He tries Filipino food "for the first time" because he gets the views.
He's been to the Philippines and he's been eating and trying a lot of Filipino food and learning a lot of them. He loves Filipino food!
Damn, watching this video made me so hungry. This guy eats just like regular Pinoy. He definitely knows the authentic taste! 😁👍🇺🇲🇵🇭
I’m from this area and this is our go to Filipino place. We’ve tried all the Filipino restos in and around bergenfield and this one is the best. The place is small but the food is amazing. The owners who are from Pampanga are all nice too!
that crunch is pure heaven.
now seeing a foreigner eat like a filipino...😍🤩🥰
Oh my gosh! This makes me crave for lechon!!! You are so lucky to get it freshly cooked!
It's great to finally you see try lechon. I recommend having vinegar the next time you try lechon. Maybe some spicy vinegar or what we call "pinakurat" :) also a great side dish or salad to eat with lechon is called "atsara/atchara" it's basically pickled green papaya with carrots and the perfect rice to pair with lechon is called "puso" it's hanging rice steamed inside palm leaves. Hope this helps!
Woa thank you! How does puso taste? More aromatic because of the palm leaves?
@@unculturedtravel yup
American don’t like vinegar.
@@unculturedtravel hanging rice (puso) is the best pair for lechon and dinugoan..yum yummy!😁😁
Oh yes, Lechon Cebu is the absolute BEST! Great to see you enjoyed it! You really should come visit the Philippines. I'm sure you'll get toured around the best spots to eat ❤
My ultimate favorite Filipino Dish. Lechon is so awesome.
Thats filipino kakiage, okoy have bean sprouts, shredded squash, etc. The lechon goes well with pickled green papaya. Actually cebu lechon will not need the lechon sauce but spiced vinegar or pickled green papaya. The tagalog lechon needs the lechon sauce because tagalog lechon is usually salted only and roasted open belly. The cebu have lots of spices in its belly and stitched close when roasting. When roasting with a close belly the heat expands the air in the belly forcing the spices into the meat.
That thumbnail is epic! The mother load of all filipino dishes! Omg, did you hear the crispy crunch?😱 😋
Salute to you sir! You are very familiar with our Filipino Delicacies..
I'm really hungry 😭 while watching this video I love this Filipino food especially the litchon Cebu and also the shrimp 🦐 with vinegar sauce 🫙
My mouth was watering the whole time 🤤😅
You nail it again sir its my favorite letchon in cebu thats a real deal👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
At last! The long wait is over! Delicious Lechon for holiday
Come visit the Philippines especially during fiesta days. You'll love it!
That ukoy is HELLA thick! One of my faves hands down. But that lechon...bro...I could taste it through the video lol.
I love how hes familiar with the name of our food. Ive watched a lot of his videos.
Good job man, seems like you are now familiar with Pinoy food!
I'm drooling watching you eat...yummy..
If you're craving Lechon sauce, you could try looking for "Mang Tomas" sauce if you have a Filipino store there. That's the closest-tasting thing you could buy if you don't know how to make your own sauce.
It goes perfectly well with most fried food especially the ones with crispy breading on them.
How about Mang Kanor?
How About, Mang Doming?
How about Mang Juan
Do mang ep ep
How about angkol?

This is my first time watching your video and I like how you are familiar with Filipino food. Not just trying Filipino food just to bait Filipinos in watching your videos just because it has something Pinoy in it.
I'm so happy you finally were able to try it! Definitely worth the find, trip, and wait! Looks delicious!
You & the lechon has finally met! 😆👏 watching you eat, i'm craving for some too! 😅 i'm not a big lechon eater but I do prefer the rib part too just like what one of the owners said; esp if it's lechon Cebu since there's good stuffing inside making the belly part really tasty! 😍😍😍
"That is spicy oohhh"
Then saying: "I need more"
Finally man... great job....I'm drooling again

finally! at long last... you found it.. so happy.. been waiting for this vlog for so long..
I know! Next time I will order a whole one again and throw a party! How many can you feed with a whole Lechon?
@@unculturedtravel try the what we called "boodle fight" instead, if you want to eat with friends. It is a traditional way for us Filipinos when eating at a party or celebrations.
Then you better get a bunch of friends with you, i doubt you can finish the whole thing by yourself.. And yeah, as thw other guy said, try it with the boodle fight setting
Letchon with mang tomas sauce is the best combo🤤🤤🤤

I'm from Luzon but no any other food you can compare with Lechon mostly if they are from Cebu. One thing is if you can finish the Lechon you can cook it as Lechong paksiw in the nex day the is one of the best as well. Keep up with Filipino food sir 👏🔥💯

the thumbnail cracked me up haha thats how i look at the lechon 0.5 seconds before my grandma yells at me to not touch it yet.
We eat like that, the way you put the food on the spoon together,.
Second comment!🥰 Great content, and its really entertaining to watch some vinegar shot😂
Vinegar shots make you live long (I think) :) - What dish should I try next?
@@unculturedtravel Yes help you to reduce glucose to your body.
@@unculturedtravel I will recommend some pork humba(different kind of pork dish similar to adobo, but little bit different) or Pork asado(Sweet pork dish). I will also recommend Adobong balon-balonan(Chicken gizzard adobo)
You always doing great man..I'm from Philippines..from now on I'm one of your fan..keep doing vlogs about Philippines man..about food and everything..many Filipinos will support you I'm sure with that..God bless to your channel and keep always healthy.
