- He’s about to showcase Houston to a global audience with his new funny and heartfelt Netflix series ‘Mo.’ Comedian Mo Amer stopped by our studio ahead of the big release of his show, inspired by his life in Alief. Actress Teresa Ruiz, who plays his girlfriend on the show, also joined him to chat about filming the show in our city. “MO” premieres Wednesday, August 24th on Netflix.
One of the few Netflix series that actually represent diversity without seem forced.
Well done
We’re a blended Polynesian and Arab family….the show is so relatable for us. We laughed and cried and reminisced on how we met and despite being raised differently in faith, education, social status we share strong family roots and values. There better be a season two!
I'm literally watching now the season! So happy for yall! Many blessings to come!
P.s. congratulations on a season 2
Just found in 2025 after bds talks highlighted lack of representation from this part of the world if you know you know! 🌎🫶🏼🇵🇸✌🏼
Binge watched it in one night!!
This show is amaaaazing and yes it goes by real fast!
SEASON 2 COME ON !!!
SAME BRUH!
Alief represent!!! I saw finished the series in one day and we need a season 2 and I love seeing Paul wall in there too
Was he the cop at the court house with the water bottle?? 🤣
Paul wall lookin older
Mo... You hit it out of the park! and then some! Hilarious and relatable. As an immigrant who went through similar struggles, I laughed and cried watching the 8 part series. His faith and love for his family is priceless and keeping hope at the time of hopelessness and searching for the non existent light at the end of tunnel. Mo's facial expression when he sees a "dog with the passport" tells you every immigrant's story. A dog has what a human cannot have.. irony of life!! Excited to see what season 2 brings!
This show made Television history. It will always be remembered.
I'm SO HAPPY to have found this show. love all the characters and totally invested in Mo and Teresa. watched 4 episodes last night and stopped myself so I could watch the rest tonight!
I love this show, I was dying 🤣 when he was mistaken for Mexican, I am Mexican have been asked many times if I am Arab, or part Arab.
I been mistaken for arab many times to but those scenes were funny
If one of your ancestors is from Spain, than most Andalusian took the chance to flee that area when they had the chance, and probably you're an Umayyad too, they were smart and brave branch of the Arabs, hated by their enemies
If you have ancestors from the Iberian Peninsula? .. There is good a chance you got an Arab DNA...
Binge watching it in one night! Deliciously funny! But I drop a tear when Mo's mom talked about her story with the lawyer.
Watched it twice, and i have a rule about seeing somthing twice on tv. This was a true exception. Loved it!!

I love this show, it’s about everyone coming here as an immigrant!
❤
Watched the show from Europe. It was very emotional. Very Good show that covers variety of topics. Season 2 is needed.
Just saw his first season last week on Netflix. As a Chinese Vietnamese immigrant from Saigon, South Vietnam to Toronto, Canada... Loved the show and relate to the characters and situations. Congrats Mo!! Hope that you get as many seasons as you need to tell the story that you want to. This show is hilarious!!

Binged watched this show, from the Palestinian rep to the hilarious dialogue in general, it was literally amazing. THEY NEED TO MAKE A SEASON 2
Who said Muslims can't laugh I used to write comedy for some of the biggest comedians and no one knew except a few until now I just made that ish public...Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Actuly smiled and laughed with his companions sometimes, it's healthy..miles upon smiles ..remember that
This show is such a breath of fresh air! Finally something new! Different types of people are finally being represented. So great to see a positive Muslim family being depicted on TV. And even better, the plight of Palestinians.

Oh , I love this serie and I can feel the story, it's a real authentic person and biography because. we here in Germany habe the same problems with immigration low. 30ty years you wait for a decision or something to move. I love Mo and his charisma 😇🥰. Please, I wait for the next season. I'm very thankful for the story and it's a strong statement of bravness to tell us of this way of life. Yeah I could identify with immediately with with that. cried and laughed at the same time!;) ☺️
There will def be a season 2 because how else will we find out how Mo gets himself out of this one lol!

Mo makes me wanna make videos reaching out to the Pakistan market I had no idea all these people kind of felt left out. All the Pakistani people I’ve ever met in texas are so nice and polite. And when they have the name “Mohammed” I can tell they’re nervous to introduce themselves to me sometimes like I’m going to judge them. But I don’t. Aww I luv u middle eastern weirdos you guys are just like me ❤ I’m glad you’re in texas
It’s good! ❤️
Kay i'm gonna give it a shot
Great show
It’s a reflective of USA and Canada

Season 2 wishes, Mo gets out of Mexico in one piece, him and Maria get together, they get asylum, and Sameer gets his Yemeni wife!
What did he say at the very beginning? Was that him trying to pronounce her name?
Oh he did it again. Why’s he saying her name like that?
I stopped watching the show after they portrayed Iraqis as thieves and that Saddam treated Palestinians in a bad way..the truth is Palestinians were treated as first class citizens during Saddam’s regime.
I saw that too but afterwards the Iraqi soldier said no they’re palestinians they’re our guests!
Bro you gotta get over it and support your brother
❤
You can’t put a price on your girl telling you I got you
Are they a lovers?
Talens this beauty serie
