I have never been lucky enough to get the rod to slip off the crank as you did on this engine , always have trouble getting the piston pin out especially on a os 48 surpass f/s . Enjoyed the video , keep up the good work!
If I look back I think I have had it happen 2 or 3 times. I know on this one I had the piston at BDC when it came off. I have always tried it before with the piston at TDC. Perhaps BDC is the way for it to just come off and I have been doing it wrong the entire time. OS put that hole in the crankcase for a reason, but they also had to know the difficulty in disassembling this series of engines. The answer could be in the OS four strokes book but I have never seen one of them before.
Your bearing assembly method is great and ensures bearings are not pinched off square, a very useful video. Thanks for your upload.

Great instruction Dave. It should inspire those who may have been intimidated to go ahead and give it a shot.
I really enjoy and I learned a lot from this channel. Thank you.
nothing wrong with that , Great job man ! ENJOYED.. she will run good again soon
Nice!!
Hi David, have you ever used ceramic bearing ? do you know if is it good or not ? Thank you
No I have not. I do not see the need in spending that sort of money for a glow engine. Bearings are consumable items like glow plugs.
