That border tip is freakin' GENIUS!!!!
Love watching you stitch. I need to invest in the magnifying light and some other products as winter is coming in NH. Thank you, Nicole, for all you do.
Just as we finished my front door bell went. It’s my package from Fat Quarter shop. Autumn Love. So happy.you are so encouraging and just love your lives.
First time watching. Enjoyed and have added you to my floss tube.
Great tip on counting the border!!!
Nichol, During your live stitching, you talked about problems with your hands if you use a hoop. I have a wonderful metal stand that clamps onto stretcher bars that I mount my stitching on. I don't do cross stitch but needlepoint but I would think you could mount cross stitching to stretcher bars and then clamp it to a frame. The frame adjusts to the height you want and it leaves your hands free to keep your thread straight or what ever. The frame is one of the best stitching investments I have ever made. I absolutely love it. I was trying to add this to the chat and then realized I was a day late [not too bright--oops].
Thank you for the tip on counting the border. I struggled so much on counting complete xs. So I started working on old fashion.
awww. I hope your son feels better soon. My daughter was in the hospital for a couple of days with pneumonia too.. Sure takes it's toll on the nerves when your children aren't feeling well.
Nichol I am so glad you are doing the live on tuesdays because I bowl on mondays. Yay! I have to order the chart yet and get going. I am stitching Cup of Cheer now and loving it. I hope Ethan feels better soon.
I watched this a lot later than you began this SAL
I bought a pdf pattern and printed it out. I have aida fabric already. I am going to get started. Hopefully I can catch up with you!! I am excited to do this SAL!!
Thanks for all you do for us.
you can do it!
Sorry I missed the live but watching the replay. Not stitching tonight as just got my fabric today and not kited yet. Thank you Nicole for showing the start and border.
I haven't seen Hocus Pocus, either! 😂😂 I'm excited to see your stitching move along while I make baby steps on my patriotic projects . . . still . . . #sloweststitcherever
I was a monogamous stitcher until i started watching your Flosstube videos 😍 your cardmaking videos are amazing but I so look forward to your weekly flosstube videos
Oh thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you SO much sweet friend! ❤️
My order arrives Thursday. I'm so excited because this is my first SAL. Also, this will be my first time stitching on chalkboard black. I loved your counting tip.
Glad your son is doing ok now. Missed the live, but watched the replay. Thank you.
You are so welcome
I like watching (listening to) your flosstubes. And I just ordered floss, Aida cloth and Old Fashioned while watching! I can't wait for it all to arrive.
Wonderful!
Great tip on the border!
Glad it was helpful!
I ordered the chart and supplies. I'll be a little bit behind on the SAL, but I'm super excited to get started on it.
Wasn’t able to make the live, but did enjoy the replay. I will be starting on this project tomorrow, since my order arrived today. I love your tip for every 10th stitch full x in border, that will make counting so much easier! Thank you, and look forward to my first SAL.
Have fun!
If you are sitting in a chair and no where to put that kind of stand I use a music stand. It goes to floor. 2 magnetic boards and strip magnets. Works great. My cart is beside it.
Thanks for all of your helpful starting tips! I’m stitching on month to month October tonight, trying to finish it up so I can fully finish and display it. I can’t wait to start Old Fashioned!
You can do it!
Good tip Nichol
I’m so sorry I won’t catch your Live videos but we have church every Tuesday night. 😢. I will be watching it though when I get home. I am stitching mine on Shadow 18 count, one thread over one. I will be using my light box. I realized tonight that I still struggle with black fabric even though it’s not bright black. 😂😂. Thank you for doing the lives. I really enjoy watching even though I can’t participate. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you Debbie! Happy stitching!
Watching replay. So bummed I got caught at work after a long, crazy day. I’m sorry you spent your day at Urgent care but so happy Ethan is doing ok- medicine__yeah! I loved the tip about borders. Not stitching this one tonight cuz I have to finish project for my nephew’s wedding. Super excited to start it though. I just have to cut my fabric. The rest is kitted. I’m try Lugana this time around. I’m stitching on black but I have to do it in daylight; too hard to see at night even with my light. The eyes are old. Lol. Thanks Nichol for showing us😍
I am in denial about my old eyes! ha! ❤️
Hope your son feels better soon
Favorite show of all time and the only thing I’ve rewatched…Call the Midwives!
May I share a little advice? If folks are looking to purchase the Halo Go, be careful on the description. I ordered one and had to return it because it was no longer charging. I ended up purchasing another but it was a regular plug in light…not GO! So just keep your eye on that friends. 😊
I am a pretty novice cross stitcher. What are the pros and cons of using a hoop or some other device or using no device to hold while you stitch?
I have a light box that is really thin from amazon. It’s great from working on black. I set it in my lap and I can see.
Do you mind sharing a link? I think I'm going to order one. I looked for the one I used to have and think I maybe gave it away since I can't find it! ;)
My first sal I started early got the tree top of boarder done now going down the sides. Also stole my husband headlamp headband thing to stitch on the black 😂 he looks at me like I’m nuts but works great and super bright. So I cross stitch looking like a coal miner
LOVE your border x tip!!! 💖
So sorry you were having so many issues trying to stitch on camera. Maybe don't feel you have to stitch where we can see the stitching? Sit comfortably and if someone has a stitching question, then show it on camera? I think we like to sit n stitch and chat with you...not necessarily watch your stitching. 😉💖
Hello!
