Did the oil look like it's got gold flakes in it when you did the first oil change mine was crazy looking looked like it had tiny super tiny pieces of gold
We used 15w50 full synthetic oil because is a better oil for hi-performance engines. And it handles higher RPM and heat. Yamaha recommends 10w40 oil but also 15w50 full synthetic

The genuine Yamaha manual below tells you to fill it from just the oil tank…… Install the crankcase engine oil drain bolt and the engine oil tank drain bolt, and then tighten them to the specified torques.Tightening torques:Crankcase engine oil drain bolt:23 Nm (2.3 m·kgf, 16.6 ft·lbf)Engine oil tank drain bolt:19 Nm (1.9 m·kgf, 13.7 ft·lbf)12. Install the engine oil filler cap, and then tightenit to the specified torque.Tightening torque:Engine oil filler cap:12 Nm (1.2 m·kgf,8.7 ft·lbf)13. Pour only 1.3 L (1.37 US qt, 1.16 Imp.qt) of thespecified amount of the recommended engineoil through the engine oil tank filler hole, and then install and tighten the oil tank filler cap.14. Start the engine, rev it several times, and thenturn it off.15. I used a 12 mm socket, 22 mm socket, 10 mm Allen wrench, 5 mm Allen Wrench.

You don't have to, you can use regular oil, but I prefer to put synthetic oil on all my vehicles.

I got on a local store close to my house (Hill Side Honda Motorsports) but you can get it on amazon
Amazon also have them. Make sure you get the correct size filter for yours specifically.
