That was an intense match and I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. You could say it was almost the same as the anime. Unlike yugioh you have a better chance of coming back in this game
No. While it is in the trigger zone the trigger effect triggers. This means once it hits the trigger zone you immediately discard 1 card in your damage zone, then declare the recipient of the +5K. Move the Heal trigger to your damage zone. If there are any crits, then check them 1 at a time.
Depends on your build for shadow paladin. Pure phantom blaster dragon is the most costly to your card advantage at -3 per use. Phantom blaster overlord is only -1 but its a specific card and it costs 3 counterblast instead of 2 like PBD and Ildona. speaking of, Ildona costs -2 to +2 and gain some power, but its a limit break so you can't use it in mid game. Royal paladins are more of a swarm deck, relying on many troops that support each other. Because of this they can search and superior call.
Also, the Kagero and Narukami clans both have units that retire your opponent's rear-guards (some have Grade restrictions). But there are some like that here-and-there in a few clans. If you go to the cf-vanguard site, and put "retire" into the card search box, they will all come up :)
Both are fairly expensive as far as the game goes. Shadow paladins typically focuses a lot more on aggression than anything else. The price is higher if you want to build Phantom Blaster Dragon now and Phantom Blaster Overlord when set 5 comes out. An alternative that is much more inexpensive would be an Ildona build. OTT from what i've seen is around the phantom blaster dragon deck price (I may be incorrect). OTT's have tsukuomi, the witches and amaterasu. All can be amazing when done right
@Jeremy Dupas Except for the fact he said in the video he doesn't have any stand triggers in his deck. Your right that attacking with a rear guard first is a basic strategy, but he went more offensive by taking out stand triggers and replacing them with more critical triggers.
He's referring to the people who were involved in making the game. Akira Ito and Satoshi Nakamura both were involved in creating the game and those two are associated with Yugioh R and Duel Masters, respectively.
Ok first of all the match was from 2012 back then they knew how to make decks. now its all stride (which is lame) and they mixing decks back then it was good
To be fair now making a deck you have to take into consideration the g zone and what you have there that influences how you play a deck and with so many options these days there are loads of different ways to make one deck. All this and I haven't even got to defending against power creep.
Have fun with the game, but you are wrong it has two exclamation points. Hope you enjoy it just as much as all of us that play it do. Hopefully it will become as popular as YuGiOh and Magic. So we can have this game for years to come!
Cardfight!! Vanguard (カードファイト!! ヴァンガード Kādofaito!! Vangādo?) is a Japanese media franchise created in collaboration between Akira Itō (Yu-Gi-Oh! R), Satoshi Nakamura (Duel Masters), and Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani. An anime television series was produced by TMS Entertainment and aired in Japan on TV Tokyo starting on January 8, 2011. An official trading card game by Bushiroad began releasing in Japan on February 26, 2011, in Singapore on May 5, 2011, and internationally on May 12, 2011
for the most part yes, if you guard for a total 20, 000 and the opponent twin drives who happens to get two triggers then the attack would become 20,000 as well so the attack would go through
Randyater qell for the most part its just official battle condition because some time people will put down a 5000 and a 10000 guard but they swipe it away fast so the other person dosent notice, plus its just a reminder
Smartguy5526 is right, Painters and White rabbit skills are a must to activate even though it says up to 1, you can't pick 0 because that would be the same as not activating the skill.
The difference between CFV and other card games is that in other card games you rely on decks to win, with the META always changing and the more expensive decks are usually the best decks. In CFV you rely on experience, because there is no real META. That aside, I still enjoy playing different games like CFV, YGO, MTG etc.
no there is only a few in english, royal, gold, kergro, kai's other thing(it will come back to me) ott, noval and i think aqua force came out not sure and after that is the new gold/kai deck and a shadow pal one later on
Hey you seem to know a bit about this game. I'm trying to get into it, but I'm unsure as to what starter deck I should get, I was thinking Slash of the silver wolf, but what do you think is a really good one?
Okay one more question! Do you know if there are any starter decks based around the Pale Moon clan? I've looked at all the clans (through the wiki) and they are the only ones that interest me beyond gold paladins.
Well SP is the equivalent to ghost rare in yugioh, or at least pretty close, so of course its going to be worth more. From what it looks like the regular triple rare for Spectral Duke is going for around $25. Usually that's the highest any card for a deck will go for, but some people are willing to dish out extra money for higher rarity. For the most part, Vanguard is a cheaper game "in comparison to Yugioh." It used to be that Pot of Duality went for $165 back when it was only a secret rare.
During 4:25 i thought full moon goddess without half moon and cresent moon in soul is only 9000? Then how does it attack rugos and the vanguard with 10 000 power?
Alright thanks! I'll look into the clans, to be honest, even though it feels like it's the one I want, I don't know what clan the silver wolf deck is haha. Though I'll make sure to put a lot of thought into my first deck and go with my favorite.
several reasons 1. good money spend (cheaper than yugioh) 2. good profit (stuff you pull out of a pack worth the same as the $ you spend on the pack or even more) 3. good pull (5 cards per pack but guarantee worth something in a deck, unlike yugioh even when you pull a super or ultra it'd worth shit $)
At about 11 minutes why does the player on the left attack the rear guard? You know he has tom in hand so he doesn't care if you attack the rear guard, if something dies he has better in his hand. I think the play should have been to attack the vanguard and force another 5k shield out of his hand.
Grammar Nazi time! I believe Cardfight!!! Vanguard has THREE exclamation points, not two. Receiving my starter deck in a week. Can't wait, this game looks awesome.
Lol morikawa hand xD I recently bought my 1st starter deck it's an Oracle Think Tank deck maiden princess of the cherry blossoms was wondering if you can give me some tips I'm still new at the game and yet to have my 1st card fight
so i just got my gold paladin trial deck after stupidly buying booster packs to make one deck lol im just wondering how people make decks without buying trial decks like shadow paladins? i mean its just that all buying from alot of booster packs?
this game is so interactive with not only your hand of cards, but interactive with even your damage, your fucking Damage! It just depends on the deck you get. Then when you understand the way to set up your field, you'll understand just how fun this game'll be and just how much luck is dependant in this game. A deck is just $15, and boosters are just $3. get into this game, and you'll understand the game more
Actually, Painter's skill is NOT a must use. That's why it says "up to 1" meaning you can choose to send 0 cards to soul. Trust me, I've studied the game quite a bit.
good game... i have a question for anyone. how do i retired the back row rearguard? im a beginner, so i don't know and sorry, for some of u this is a stupid Question...
Omg recommendations brought this nostalgic feeling of being in the midst and feeling the pain in my heart
Lol, Oracle think Tank guy was Morikawa'd at the start
Yea lel

This is a real sweet game :) Can't wait for more sets to come out in english. Thank you for making these videos!

Awesome game even though the Shadow Paladin player managed only two columns. Nicely done.
Shadow Paladin: What are you looking for? OTT: Critical Triggers.Shadow Paladin: What are you looking for? OTT: Heal Triggers. LOLOL
This was a wicked game. I'm so pumped up to play vanguard at my locals!!!!
@Jeremy Dupas
Except for the fact he said in the video he doesn't have any stand triggers in his deck. Your right that attacking with a rear guard first is a basic strategy, but he went more offensive by taking out stand triggers and replacing them with more critical triggers.
Awesome battle! The ending was just so close and so awesome, especially with the extra critical! That was just awesome!
i liked the ending getting three crits . awesome match dude.
Ahh, this shows how strong Shadow Paladins really are. Even without the ride chain, he still managed to win. This is why i love Shadow palis.
Tsukiyomi Grade 3 needs 6 in soul to CB. He only had 5 at the time, so therefore used CEO to soulcharge one more
It's time to du- du - duel!!! .... Wait that's not right
He's referring to the people who were involved in making the game. Akira Ito and Satoshi Nakamura both were involved in creating the game and those two are associated with Yugioh R and Duel Masters, respectively.

Dude does it matter if the cards stay in the guard circle, while a person drives check.
for the most part yes, if you guard for a total 20, 000 and the opponent twin drives who happens to get two triggers then the attack would become 20,000 as well so the attack would go through
Yes I know, but we all know what he guarded with. So no need to keep the cards in the circle
Randyater qell for the most part its just official battle condition because some time people will put down a 5000 and a 10000 guard but they swipe it away fast so the other person dosent notice, plus its just a reminder
"Average grade in hand 2.84 " XDDDDD am I the only one that found this hilarious?!
Very nice game and evenly matched.
Finally some card shop makes Kaiji references. If I did that then everyone at mine would look at me like I was insane.
Camera guy: what are you looking for?
Left guy: Crit Triggers
Camera guy: and what are you looking for?
Right guy: Crit Triggers
All: lol
The end little reminde me a match between ren and kai
Mahjong and Kaiji references. You guys are my heroes.
Damn 10 years ago. Feel old man
Wow, that was a long game but it's a good game. ^_^
BTW, Tsukuyomi Cardfighter, I wanna ask about how much you bought your Tsukuyomi Deck?
in england theres going to be a tournament at the thistle hotel in manchester on october 20th so be prepered if you live near manchester
@Solsdawningcreations Yup, that's correct. "Up to x" means "Pick a number from 0 to x"
Smartguy5526 is right, Painters and White rabbit skills are a must to activate even though it says up to 1, you can't pick 0 because that would be the same as not activating the skill.
I need that shadow palidain deck, I'm the only one in my friend group who likes vanguard and I'm trying to get them into it
Yeah, they're most likely Japanese. Shadow Paladins are out in English December 15th.
What sleeve does the Oracle think tank deck have
Thebasketballbuilder

Lol ... FINAL TURN !!! PHANTOM BLASTER OVERLORD 'S SKILL !!!
no there is only a few in english, royal, gold, kergro, kai's other thing(it will come back to me) ott, noval and i think aqua force came out not sure and after that is the new gold/kai deck and a shadow pal one later on

If u were listening they were check for the possiblitly for a trigger to occur so they opponant does have to use so many cards to defend with.
During 4:25 i thought full moon goddess without half moon and cresent moon in soul is only 9000? Then how does it attack rugos and the vanguard with 10 000 power?
the grade zero is not for guardian, its for the dark shield's skill to sacrifice,so he can use a grade 0 as a sacrifice
Red Eye will soul charge if he hits an opponents unit right?
when you trigger a heal trigger, aren't you supposed to put it in the damage zone first and then take off one damage?
i wonder how the actual vanguard sleeves are as opposed to dragon shields...
Wouldn't those first two heal triggers get set down first then heal one? If so he should have had one point towards him.
best duel i've seen in a while
Alright thanks! I'll look into the clans, to be honest, even though it feels like it's the one I want, I don't know what clan the silver wolf deck is haha. Though I'll make sure to put a lot of thought into my first deck and go with my favorite.
Gold paladins
Are these cloth mats or rubber? If they are cloth mats how do they compare to the rubber ones?
How did u guys record your fight at this angle ? I would love to know for my vanguard channel ( not the channel that I'm leaving this comment on )
@Hi44338 Doesn't have to. SC1 is optional.
ok im juts starting out
whats the best way to start ie like what deck to make, like shall i get a starter deck and go from there?
@brn932 The Zawas was Kaiji I thought, but then again I think both anime are by the same person though so we might both be right.
You need to use a card effect like Blaster Blade. You cannot attack a back row rearguard unless an effect says so.
you might also be interested in the fact that vanguard has had several cards made by manga artist, including the artist of yyh and shaman king.
@HeartOfTheCardsTCGs What was the card the OTT guy called on @6:22 ?
@rebornthunder actually we get set 6 in april i checked with my store and set 3 in may
Shadow paladins look so much fun to play. Whats the best way to get a deck of them?
mind someone telling me how which packs to get to complete a good set of otts? Cause i don't know where to start buying from
but how come the English packs do not come with a white points card in the packs?
Man I want to play shadow paladins so badly, but they don't come out till December 15
If only the anime was this intense.
how did u make a shadow paladin deck i didnt know blaster dark was out yet
That battle was so much epic
im new to the game and the series and i bought my first booster pack and gold paladins are what caught my eye are they any good?
you forgot to mention the following: No annual banlist, no set rotations.
"Ridge you going first?" WAS THAT RIDGEDOG FROM MINECRAFT? :D
How are you healing with stand triggers? (as best as I can tell its a stand trigger.)
that last crit trigger
several reasons
1. good money spend (cheaper than yugioh)
2. good profit (stuff you pull out of a pack worth the same as the $ you spend on the pack or even more)
3. good pull (5 cards per pack but guarantee worth something in a deck, unlike yugioh even when you pull a super or ultra it'd worth shit $)
are those the japanese versions of shadow paladins because i heard that they come out in December
damn i miss this kind of play.
Anyone know if shadow paladin decks have come in english yet? if not, how long do u think it will take?
Can you pm me the deck list for the oracle think tank deck list please?
You guys should do a Royal Paladen VS Shadow Paladen
At about 11 minutes why does the player on the left attack the rear guard? You know he has tom in hand so he doesn't care if you attack the rear guard, if something dies he has better in his hand. I think the play should have been to attack the vanguard and force another 5k shield out of his hand.
Great Game! What a High level of play that match was at
Grammar Nazi time!
I believe Cardfight!!! Vanguard has THREE exclamation points, not two.
Receiving my starter deck in a week. Can't wait, this game looks awesome.
i did, when you double heal in the begging you get a large card advantage for the rest of the game being able to take a lot of early damage
Lol morikawa hand xD I recently bought my 1st starter deck it's an Oracle Think Tank deck maiden princess of the cherry blossoms was wondering if you can give me some tips I'm still new at the game and yet to have my 1st card fight
can you get a deck list of this shadow paladin please? im making those
3:07 how do you heal , if you dont have 4 or more damage ?
its called the attack that you where thinking of is the Morikawa masher.
Question: are foreign cards allowed in US tournaments?
It must have taken a while to gather all those shadow paladins and a lot of booster packs LOL
so i just got my gold paladin trial deck after stupidly buying booster packs to make one deck lol im just wondering how people make decks without buying trial decks like shadow paladins? i mean its just that all buying from alot of booster packs?
how big are vanguard decks ? it looks like there burning throw cards like crazy
Hmm... Just a question? When Silent Tom is out, how are you even able to guard with a grade 0? :O
this game is so interactive with not only your hand of cards, but interactive with even your damage, your fucking Damage! It just depends on the deck you get. Then when you understand the way to set up your field, you'll understand just how fun this game'll be and just how much luck is dependant in this game. A deck is just $15, and boosters are just $3. get into this game, and you'll understand the game more
Is it just me is the way the battle ended kinda remind me of Kai and rens fight and the way that fight ended
Actually, Painter's skill is NOT a must use. That's why it says "up to 1" meaning you can choose to send 0 cards to soul. Trust me, I've studied the game quite a bit.
wait are the Shadow Paladins out in the US now ???
Nice game! Really nice
MORIKAWA IS ON UR SIDE!!!!! u r his true star student. and where did u guys get those playmats?
good game... i have a question for anyone. how do i retired the back row rearguard? im a beginner, so i don't know and sorry, for some of u this is a stupid Question...
Nice Win in the end!!!!
Wait, I thought Bushiroad made Vanguard?... Are you saying the Art is made by the same person?
