As a distance relative of Big Mama Thornton, this is my first time hearing this or seeing this, she was amazing with everything she went through, shows she was a really strong woman in music. I'm putting together a scrapbook album of her many phases that will be placed in the museum in her home town of Ariton, Alabama.❤

16 years old here, from 🇬🇧. Sippie is amazing at the start considering her age. Many singers dip in their latter years of performing, but she is on point. RIP Sippy Wallace.

Thank you very much for posting this. I have not seen since its initial airing. Jeannie Cheatham and her husband Jimmy helped put this program together. Some time later, someone decided to do a MALE version of this, featuring Smokey Wilson, much to the displeasure of Mr. Cheatham, who was not consulted and felt their format had been co-opted.
This is the superior concert and one of the last (the last?) TV appearances of Thornton. Also, having studied under Jimmy Cheatham, it's a great pleasure to see him again.
