Yes I noticed this as well. The frame weighed can't be the 5000 CF3 since Merida claims it weighs 997g in size M. But they claim 822g for the CF5 frame in size M. Very confusing.

@@ancogbernard the bike is 6.98, rounds up to 7. Add 200 grams of pedals plus 50g for a computer mount, some extras like a light, saddle bag, etc. What's the weight now? Yeah, thought so.

I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.
A great bike let down by the non-removable sponsor logos! Why couldn't they have used stickers, giving the buyer the option to have them on show or not. It's a waste of a spectacular paint job.

I believe it's a cf5 frameset. Also I notice this generation both have a PF86 BB, for CF4 old scultura they got PF386

It's an CF5 which was labeled as CF3 since it's a pre-production bike. There's nothing fake about the weight ;)
