I am in the UK so I grew up with 9ct gold and some 18ct and even rarer 14ct.. Even though 18ct and up does have a certain appeal and does have a nice buttery gold colour, I honestly prefer the paler gold colour of 9ct and 14ct when I come across it
@@AkiraGuitar777 the downsides of 9-10k gold is that you actually lose a lot of money from it. When 18k+ jewelry gold is damaged by scratches the metal actually just moves out of the way. With lower purities it just flakes off so overtime the weight actually drops. Also you will get paid way less than the actual gold content's value when it's lower purity because it costs much more money to extract the gold from it (chemicals and labor). Also 9-10k is much much more prone to cause allergic reactions put you at risk of developing allergic reactions. It's much more common to find metals like nickel the lower the purity of gold is. The reason why low karat is more risky allergy wise is because of how prone it is to releasing particles of the metal alloy since it flakes off thus embedding said particles into your skin.
18k used to be what was mostly used for high noble dental crowns but now with the new alloys they found they also do 14k. Dental gold has palladium or even platinum in rare cases both of which makes the alloys much more stronger

@@greyhound4647 acid ttreatment is a diffrent process to purify gold dust , than melting process. You can only use acid powder in melting process and not hcl , liquid acid is very dangerous and should not use like this , it is water , simply to wet the dust and the torch dont make it fly.
