Phil, whom I knew well and still hold in the highest regard, DID have a few crashes. To wit: '61 Nurburgring 1000km (Ferrari 246), '62 Targa Florio (Ferrari 268, I believe), '63 Dutch GP (ATS), '64 Austrian GP (Cooper), and '66 Sebring 12 hours (Chaparral 2D, in practice). I don't know about the early years, but I think it's unlikely he didn't have a shunt or two back then...those cars had that tendency. However, Phil NEVER was injured in any of these beyond a scratch or two. Fine driver and a GREAT gentleman.
From what I've heard from people in Vegas, they hate this. Ticket prices are outrageous, streets are going to be all screwed up, people in Vegas can't wait for this to be over with. Better than even money this GP will be a one and done.
I see the negativity from vegas residents/uploaders. Not sure if its their call though...? I do wonder whats driving F1 in the usa without a promising usa driver on the grid currently. its provably that the companies are behind it. the american teams coming in the sport.. andretti was getting in the game right.. i saw something about cadilac making f1 engines in the future. ...Red bull is becoming a ford factory team. Porsche although not usa is coming back many manufacturers have their eye on the sport, which obviously drives these sort of events forward commercially. the track seems like a high speed spectacle, easy track (but all new street tracks are easy) it makes the racing fun (probably)
Liberty media now own F1 it's in their best interest to promote it in there home turf? This track has a ten year deal potentially and may well be a shit show but it's entertainment regardless
This is one of the biggest consumer markets in the world and one of the few markets left for F1 growth. If Americans start to accept F1 it means billions in commercial revenues so it's not going anywhere anytime soon and Liberty media is an American company so it makes sense the would want to build popularity here.
@@dgrtest13 ya F1 would have 3 races in the US without Liberty Media and Driver To Survive. Amazing how many woman 👩 can now name many of the drivers.I was surrounded by many watching the race.
I like Jay and love to hear him talk about cars but to not talk at all about F1 or the GP is a missed opportunity to say it nicely. If you want this channel/podcast to grow it’s not a smart move.
i was in for the F1 content but stayed for Jay Leno talking about cars
Absolutely. I bet his shoulders must’ve been tired from carrying the entire show. 38:44 😂
Love listening to Jay. Oh how he loves cars. He really loves cars.
I love how Jay found a jeans dress shirt!
I love you guys mentioned Daytons 250 GTO. I legit have witnessed him driving it casualy around the streets in Minnesota. its a sight to be seen lol

The name drop show….great but title is a bit odd….I’m still waiting 30 minutes in to hear about the Vegas f1 race….
Jay never fails to entertain
Can't wait to fly my fancy drone for some epic footage.

Jay is great always, but the title is misleading
Never ditch the Beach Boys, never.
Like 10 minutes in and Vegas has yet to be mentioned.

Jay can't talk about F1 cars because he doesn't know anything about them. He only knows all about cars that go very slow.
"Jay Leno Previews Las Vegas GP"
No, he doesn't. 🤨
I’m sure that was their original plan but this turned out to be a great podcast nonetheless.
Did i miss something? Oh yes a preview as described in the title.FFS.
What a weird preview.
Isn't this "Drive to whine"?
American build walls near the border to stop immigrants.... now this wall for the American..irony😁
Vegas an expensive flop.
