I just used my Ronco rotisserie for the first time two days ago and over a year. I own two of them they were both bought at Goodwill one was $10 and one was $20. I use both of them but I’m on the lookout for third as on eBay they go for about $100.00. I brined mine in a solution I use for 24 hours and it came out so good. I’ve done rib roast in them and they’ve come out excellent also.
If you ever have a problem with noise as it is turning, I found that using Pam for high heat on the ends of the plate bearings and it is totally quiet! I have the Showtime rotisserie Pro 6000
Just made me hungry ! Mine is over 25 years old and still working fine , I even have the original light bulb inside . I took it out for a couple of years and decided to put it back in . Tender , Juicy , Delicious every time . My trussing skills suck , I just tie it again and I have problems centering the yard bird on the spot rods . Still working great ! Thanks for the video .
Oh, I'm so sad, I had one of the Set it and Forget it Rotisserie Cookers and I gave it away when I moved out to California, it was the best dang thing. I don't think I ever made a bad chicken in it and we used to love to do chicken skewers. One time my husband went to pull the chicken we had just cooked off and it was a little stuck so he pushed a little harder and the darned chicken went flying off the counter on to the floor, our dog at the time went right for it, we ate out that night. Your dinner looks amazing, Thanks for sharing.
Oh how wonderful. I always wanted one of those. What a great way to remember Ron. He had so many wonderful inventions. You make it look so easy & yummy. Enjoy.
My heating element is in the back with a stainless steel reflector behind it to concentrate the heat toward the meat! Your element is in the back also!
1.08 a pound a store rotisserie 3 pound is like 8 bucks. Charcoal grill is over kill would make me cry for it lol. Rick is polite he holds up a napkin in front of his mouth when he eats.
Just found this video; I can smell the chicken through the computer! I received a Showtime rotisserie as a gift, and I’ve had so much fun with it! Some ideas for your next chicken: I dry brine my chicken for 24 hours before cooking. The rub I use has time to soak into the meat while the chicken sits in the refrigerator, uncovered. In addition, after roasting, I let the chicken rest, lightly covered, for 15 minutes. It lets the chicken juices redistribute throughout the chicken.
Rick I still have that same exact rotisserie oven on a shelf in my basement!!! It's not been used years but this video has inspired me to get it back out 👍👍👍 thanks for sharing Rick!!!
Ron Papell had commercials all of the time in the 80's and I think some in the 90's,my dad had the pocket fisherman, remember Mr. microphone? If I am not mistaken,Ron's dad was the inventer and Ron was the pitchman.
SET IT & FORGET IT, BUT i cant forget it, maybe forget it for Hour & half ONLY ..ahhhhhh back in 90s my college years late nights...God knows how many times watched that AD in TVS while i was study , good ole days...Sams club is like hour away from me ,never goes there ...BUT COSTCO is like couple of blocks down my house , i am there every couple of weeks , i buys everything from there👍👍, I think i have one somewhere in my Shad have to go throw things mine to find it , mine too is about 20 years old ...to me is the BEST Rotisserie machine, since 90s out there hands down
Your “Owl” was a Mourning Dove. We have them here and I love listening to them. That was a neat idea using that old rotisserie by Ron Popeil👍🏼 It sure made a yummy-looking chicken!😋😋😋😋
Rick, Nice video. My dumb 2 cents . How about making a gyro in that rotisserie. Make a ground lamb beef mix similarly to meatloaf, skewer that bad boy and rotisserie it. You like to make bread pita or Naan is super easy to make. Peace Luke T
Nice Rick, haven’t used one of these since the 90s! Grocery prices have gotten so high, it’s cheaper to get a rotisserie chicken from Costco, then to make one at home!
That unit is what got me going on rotisserie. I ended up getting an Emiril unit. But, it all got me thinking. Why don’t our home ovens come with a rotisserie unit? How simple would that be?
Glad you still had some rub left Rick. Good stuff. Rotisserie chicken is always so good. I used my Ronco Meat Toaster on some thick pork chops and some veggies recently. It did a very nice job cooking them. Sone of my friends couldn’t believe I have a meat toaster. I need to get one of the ovens also! 😊👍🏻 I’m doing well. Thank you. Just have to remember to take my meds on time. I’m getting forgetful sometimes. I hope the new glasses are helping you. Looks like y’all enjoyed a great meal with dessert tonight. Take care!
Loved my showtime rotisserie it got burned up in the fire I would make center cut pork loins on mine with a home made marinade so tender....enjoy that chicken its a beauty
Very nice. One of Ron's best products ever, and actually works. One of my air fryers has a rotisserie but only takes very small chickens nobody sells. Used it once. It was great. But I usually just get a cooked one at Sams. Recently got a Costco card and got one of their chickens to compare. Preferred the Sams bird hands down. Sams rotisserie chickens get wrecked in my house. Everything gets eaten or made into broth. But the Costco chicken ended up mostly uneaten and spoiled before being thrown out. Not even my cats wanted it. Not doing that again.
Rick Mammana --- the new replacement for the late Ron Popeil of Ronco fame. Can't wait for the new infomercial to start on late late night TV. LOL "But Wait There's More!"

Excellent tips on the tying. How much extra cooking time do you think I would need for 2 chicken's of same weight jammed side-by-side?
Maybe about the same time or just a little longer. Just keep an eye on it till it's as done as you like it. Thanks for watching!

good thing you didn't let it rest for 20 mins, otherwise you'd be stuck with a juicy chicken
