Gilling Diesel Gala 2022 - 5” gauge BR Diesels running with realistic scale stock

- I stayed up in Yorkshire for the weekend to take part in the Gilling Diesel Day, hosted at the Ryedale Society of Model Engineers beautiful track, in Gilling East village.
This was an event purely for 5” gauge diesel locomotives, run to a timetable to ensure everyone got their fair share of track time and alternated with the rolling stock.
Massive thanks to Dave Jones (@Cottesmore ) and Jamie Felgate for doing their best to organise a fun event.
Thanks also to RSME for hosting, aswell as those that helped in the yards.
I look forward to returning next year!

Amazing video, with impressive pulling power of your class 20. It's almost a shame to have the drivers on board, but I imagine the joy of driving while riding is the whole point of doing it. Would they ever run the trains by remote control without on-board drivers? That would look awsome!

Eric.. Where did you get your sound and smoke unit set up? Very realistic
Hi mate, the sound is just the usual Mtroniks stuff.
The smoke unit i designed myself, its built from a project box, 2 mister units, 2 fans mounted on top of eachother.
One fan runs all the time for idle, the other is wired into the sound unit.
Ive got the sound unit wired into its own potentiometer rather than the motors though, so i control it independently from the speed, so when i open it up the smoke also increases with it ect

were those the bexhill classs 37s ??
one was an AP kit, the other a massively chopped about and modified AP kit with many custom parts
Is that the maxitrax 66 ???
EWS one is, Freightliner one is AME.
Maxitrak is my reccomendation if you want one, far superior
