All I want is instant tyrant. Too much movement in modern fights, having to cancel a tyrant cast (or die) is so painful when you know dogs and grimoire expire before you can recast it.
omg yes casters feel so bad these last couple xpacs. I love all the casting classes so im going to keep playing them and just deal with it, But i genuenly have times where i get so mad i have to yell out loud "Can it be my turn yet?!" cause it feels like literally ever single second im having to dodge something. Really feels like this game is tuned only for melee classes now a days. Almost certainly a skill issue but damn lol
@AmeliaDemorest oh, not all casters! Arcane, say, has like two spells that are *not* castable while moving (blast and surge), and has Shimmer or Ice Floes for when they need to cast even those on the move. Queen is soooo much less hassle after I swapped from lock to mage.
Summon demonic tyrant should really be instant cast, there's nothing more frustrating then getting all your pets out and having to move right before you can cast tyrant causing all your pets to expire.
Make tyrant and dogs and gloomhound always instacast and the opener would be cut down by some what 5 seconds or so, and makes the chance of completly fucking your opener not be a thing, especialy loopings at how every dungeon and basicly al raid Bosses atm are move move move and move some more 😅😂
i still think they just need to make vilefiend/charhounds passive pets that becomes part of your dreadstalkers button, so its 3 dogs instead of 2 buttons for no reason and it would make tyrant sets ups much smoother removing needing to use charhound/vilefiend as an extra button for no reason. and it would be amazing if they gave us implosion imp refunds back and if they do this to demo, it'll be back to perfect spec again thats all they need to do.
I understand but tyrant being instant doesn’t fix clunky rotation, I still think just putting vilefiend/charhound as passive into your dreadstalkers instantly fixes all of demos issues. Because it will also help us outside of the tyrant windows. As you will always have the buffs charhound provides every time you use your dreadstalkers.
@@aethewulf4787the issue I see with instant tyrant (which I also would love) is that the imps from your last hand of guldan won't have spawned, if they make it so that the tyrant takes into account the imps still in the spawning animation from the last HoG as you cast it it would be great.
There is a few ideas that could be explored for Warlock in general, but I feel like it would affect demo the most. - Demonic circle teleport off of the GCD... please - Shorter int CD and why does demo even stun? - Soulstone insta cast with Soulburn so that we actually have a brez -1 less GCD cast in the demo opener, people were saying 1 button for Vile and Dogs but I would just make tyrant insta cast -Grimoire has to stop dying in some dungeons, like on the boat in Dawnbreaker. Sometimes he just despawns 3 secs after cast -For mobility, they could decrease the cast time of Shadowbolt/HoG if they don't want to mess around with something new. Overall though, I love Warlock. I feel like the fact that all 3 specs are playable in different settings makes it a lot of fun and enjoyable. But Ofc everyone want to improve their respectable class to make it that much better. Nice video.

I agreed with that 100%. There's nothing more frustrating than getting your Tyrant setup but then not being able to summon the Tyrant because you have to move or because of another mechanic.

When was the last time that 70% of the mechanics weren't move to X, move out of X, make sure you're moving during cast, an absolute cornucopia of sequentially spawning pools on the ground that mark 0.5secs after one another, dance to move between danger slices of an ability, Move to fight these mobs, you have to move against the boss pull, you have to run against the boss push, run away from fixate, move to X so line go through Y. The ever frustration when they want warlocks to be turrets, but they have no idea how to make a fight challenging without just asking to player to move in increasingly complicated ways for longer periods of time. With most specs it's not that bad, but since Demo revolves entirely around Tyrant every missed tyrant window is a 20-30sec delay to your output and your DPS drops like a rock in the meantime. Either make tyrant insta-cast so we can cut our losses when mechanics fuck us over, or untie imps from the equation so we don't have to gamble our entire parse on trying to squeeze in a few more casts of HOG. Dungeons like SOB just spike my blood pressure because it feels like there is no time to actually cast anything before i have to move or before something yinks me across the room. Is it playable? of course I adore current Demo and Diabolist added even more demony shenanigans I love it.
I was hoping you'd mention how punishing it is for Demonology to have a 30s interrupt instead of the shorter one you get with Aff/Destro. It is very painful in M+.
The anger from tanks when it stuns and the mob is the otherside of the room, after they asked you to interrupt it to bring it over. Swear most m+ i have to explain that it does 2 things
I can't believe they STILL haven't separated the stun and the interrupt. It would actually give demo much more utility too. Tbh the interrupt being a stun + 30s CD is something which makes demo so bad in high keys
Just a reminder, you can cast your Vilefiend at any time in or out of combat and it doesn't pounce your target until you actively hit it with something else. This means you can cast it in your opener before the pull and not have to worry about it getting interfered with by movement. Can also cast it while travelling between packs in M+ to make sure it doesn't desync with your tyrant.
I think the Immutable Hatred side is supposed to be the "easy" choice where you give up some throughput for easier gameplay (ie not having to spread Doom with Demonbolts). I think Doom is more fun, so would rather it be the better choice most of the time
I would love something that makes Tyrant less punishing if you don’t have everything out for whatever reason. Maybe just make him a CD and add dmg to compensate for what he got from other demons.
My biggest gripe with demo is that you generate shards and spend shards so much faster then the other two warlock specs. Increase soul shard cap from 5 to 8, it would make the spec feel much more flexible to play. instead of (build -> build -> spend) every time, you could instead decide to spend more time building shards, spend your demonic cores for more than 2 globals to be more mobile, ect.
Also i found that if you have 30% crit its valuable to take the Felguard crit talent, extra 10% crit to that Demon does allot to your dps since most of the time the felgueard is your top dps anyways. For both M+ and Raid envierment. The felguard crits for about cca 40% of the time
Would be nice to combine dogs with charhound as one cast, demo feels a little clunky still with the tyrant ramp and all the movement requirements in raid and m+
Look into what youre doing on your logs. Demono damage largely depends on building a good tyrant setup. Grimoire + both dogs with 10 imps going into a tyrant is crucial. Go through kalamazi's demo guide a couple times and icyveins by motoko
Please use your platform to report Grimoire's bug, it keeps dying/despawning randomly in M+ and raid. Awesome content as always, warlock community is so lucky to have you.
Possible to have tyrant get max dmg benefit from 6 imps so you only cast 2 HoG in opener. Also, moving vilefiend into dogs you can keep the same talents, you just no longer need to cast vile as its passive to dogs, also solves the time issue of vilefiend
I saw a hunter with TWO, Two headed demon dogs for pets yesterday... I just want to stop being funneled into the "mandatory guard", maybe get new pets, get infernal/doom guard back? Or just get rid of the "mandatory guard" talents? Could we get talents for OUR OTHER PETS!?!!
I feel better that it's not just me struggling to sync up the dog/tyrrant cds. I swear i lose so much up time due to mechanics pushing out cast windows. I know to an extent it's the life of a caster, but it still feels frustrating at times, eg being chased around for 50% of the whole fight on the first boss of Siege of Boralis
I would love to have IP back !and make tyrant instant cast for the love of Pete !and for soul harvester I think shared fate could use a pretty good buff to make it competitive in plus . Would be cool to spread kind of like disease damage that an unholy DK does , or put IP in that tree I don’t know . I do agree that the set sometimes is punishing though .

Warlock in general is stuck behind, affliction can't refresh its dots before agony expires in aoe and you have to do it manually, demo has to be able not to move for several seconds to pop a decent tyrant and has a stun+interrupt that can be a hindrance in m+. Think about how long it took for destruction to get both rain of fire and cataclysm finally

There is this bug that GFG isn't getting the 90% avoidance from certain fights. Looking at logs GFG died right before or soon after Tyrant cast BUT not in its full duration, making that talent effectively USELESS whether it was 45% pre-buff or 125% post buff.
Sadly the same issues Demo has been having ever since Legion: you have a 15-20s setup before you can use your big cooldown, and any mechanic you have to deal with in that time throws potential DPS out the window. And every time that makes Demo bad in its niche, they just buff us so the numbers look better because we have a higher average DPS between the pulls we do/don't get a mechanic in X out of Y cooldown setups of a fight. Making our Summon casts instant/faster, extra Demonic Cores, Soulshape, bringing back Kil'jaeden's Cunning, it's all just a bandaid for the underlying problem: Demonology's setup to properly use their big cooldown doesn't work in Modern WoW with all the mechanics you have to deal with. Besides Affliction (7), any other caster has maybe 2-3 spells to cast in their opener before they can pop their cooldown and just GO. With Demonology, you're looking at 2 pre-casts, 10 casts after combat starts, and THEN you can start summoning your Tyrant! You'd have to rework Tyrant so it's like any other cooldown to actually fix the issue: *Tyrant gets a baseline damage increase (start with the same damage increase as if you summoned the max amount of demons, then retune from there) *Change Tyrant to: Any demon you summon while Tyrant is active has its base duration increased by 15s and damage increased by 15% for those 15s *Rework Hero Talents like Shadow of Death to maybe give 1 Soul Shard/Succulent Soul when the Tyrant has been active for 5/10/15s, or just all 3 when it runs out. This changes your cooldown setup to just banking some Demonic Cores, build up to 5 shards, summon your Tyrant and THEN start bringing in the rest of the army. You lose some flavor but you don't get the sinking feeling every time you get a mechanic and have to delay a Summon spell or have a Summon despawn before you can cast Tyrant.
What would make demo realy amazing is instancast dogs always, and tyrant instacast, would but down on the opener maaasivly and would make it a hell of alot more mobile and fluid and makes the chance of compeltly ruining a 2 minute opener basicly none existent becaus i dont know how many times i have completly ruined my opener becaus i had to move just for 2 seconds
Maybe out of context, but wanted to bring this up since this is your most recent video. I think Malevolence should also be off the GCD. Feels so bad to drop the rock and have to wait an entire global before actually casting things. Just figured I'd throw that out there before you put out any videos about Destro/Aff and such. Would be a nice quality of life change imo
For Demo I miss the old Imp Gang boss it made Demo AOE fun and Dynamic. Demo AOE is so much duller with the current Imp Gang boss being a shell of its former self.
The fact blizz are slowing going back on the core economy, I feel that the spec needs a full rework at this point. Its in such a bizarre place right now. M+ it is good but raiding..... Having to ignore mechanics to pad damage with aoe to be close to anyone. As you said, it being awful to do tyrant set ups. Currently it either needs pets to last longer from initial spawning or it needs more instant cast spells. Its just going to fall as the game gets more and more movement heavy. Feels like a spec that would of been great 3/4 expansions ago for raiding.
Unpopular opinion. But they need to remove the haste on touch of rankora. Having a cast be less than a global feels awwwwful and adds 0 damage (edit: for demo I mean, feels great for destro)
The build up for a good tyrant is always the part of this spec that bothers me a bit. Getting disrupted at all during the deploy all of the things and then tyrant in mythic plus is just punishing. Basically in mythic plus if you can drag a bunch of imps from a previous pack it isn't as bad but from nothing it is a bit cumbersome.
Wish cast time of dogs and vilefiend was shorter you need so much hast to lower. For me now 1.7 sec and just to long think 1.5 or 1.4 is beter and tyrant need be instant cast.
@kalamazi outside of the fact that demo is still a clunky spec to play cause of lack of mobility, missing tyrant casts cause of mechanics etc, the lack of utility needs to be addressed as well. Warlock brings nothing to the table that makes anyone go oh yeh need a lock in my key (raiding is a lil different but not that much). Doesnt have group utility, slow brez when not talented, no lust, curses are ST only instead of mass, pets have to be summoned after keys are put in, pet utility between specs makes demo suffer, aff can apply curses with vial taint yet demo pets dont apply any curses. Aoe ramp is the slowest of the 3 specs. Fel domination isn't basline passive. Portal should be able to be used by a warlock alone. Warlock is the only spec that realisrically didnt have a rework going into TWW. It had a small tune/tune up but nothing fundamentally different.
I really hate implosion, god I wish it was a duel talent and get demon wrath back (pulsing AoE around your demon you could channel while moving, with a shard proc on dmg) like we had in legion, it would be nice with a proper aoe instead of implosion, and would also hit that sustain over burst as implosion give. any thoughts?
I very much dislike demonology. Whenever it's the strongest, I just stop playing warlock all together, and yet it seems like it's most often the strongest. I suppose that's why they say "get me out of Demonology prison".
idk if it's just me, but demo just doesnt feel satisfying to play at all. Like none of ur buttons feel like really fun to press 😭😭 destro on the other hand.... tons of fun idk
I can confirm that Umbral Blaze does absolutely nothing. It's like 1m damage over the course of a 3 minute fight. Absolutely useless, pointless talent.

Yea, charhound dies on the boat sometimes too...
The boat is always so buggy, I've literally seen people fall through the boat by mounting up multiple times lol.
Hand of Guldan (Impact) had an additional drop down arrow to see the split of Hand of Guldan Dmg and Umbral Blaze damage

Tyrant should extend imps after it is summoned up to the 10/15 cap so it isn't as punishing if you don't get all your hand of gul'dan or procs

Nah, better to increase imp uptime by 1sec tbh they don't last long enough. Then reduce their damage to compensate if they have to.
Such a good video. I love suggestions to reduce vilefiend cd. No extra damage but makes movement so much more forgiving.

Agreed that Charhound CD 25secs would be much more forgiving.
Makes little difference tbh. You can currently still fit one tyrant-less hound and 25 seconds wont do much

Making our Summon casts instant/faster, extra Demonic Cores, Soulshape, bringing back Kil'jaeden's Cunning, it's all just a bandaid for the underlying problem: Demonology's setup to properly use their big cooldown doesn't work in Modern WoW with all the mechanics you have to deal with.
Besides Affliction (7), any other caster has maybe 2-3 spells to cast in their opener before they can pop their cooldown and just GO.
With Demonology, you're looking at 2 pre-casts, 10 casts after combat starts, and THEN you can start summoning your Tyrant!
You'd have to rework Tyrant so it's like any other cooldown to actually fix the issue:
*Tyrant gets a baseline damage increase (start with the same damage increase as if you summoned the max amount of demons, then retune from there)
*Change Tyrant to: Any demon you summon while Tyrant is active has its base duration increased by 15s and damage increased by 15% for those 15s
*Rework Hero Talents like Shadow of Death to maybe give 1 Soul Shard/Succulent Soul when the Tyrant has been active for 5/10/15s, or just all 3 when it runs out.
This changes your cooldown setup to just banking some Demonic Cores, build up to 5 shards, summon your Tyrant and THEN start bringing in the rest of the army.
You lose some flavor but you don't get the sinking feeling every time you get a mechanic and have to delay a Summon spell or have a Summon despawn before you can cast Tyrant.
Warlock needs a rework not just damage but also utilities.

Also give us either another AOE stun or reduce CD of axe toss
What would make demo realy amazing is instancast dogs always, and tyrant instacast, would but down on the opener maaasivly and would make it a hell of alot more mobile and fluid and makes the chance of compeltly ruining a 2 minute opener basicly none existent becaus i dont know how many times i have completly ruined my opener becaus i had to move just for 2 seconds
Maybe out of context, but wanted to bring this up since this is your most recent video. I think Malevolence should also be off the GCD. Feels so bad to drop the rock and have to wait an entire global before actually casting things. Just figured I'd throw that out there before you put out any videos about Destro/Aff and such. Would be a nice quality of life change imo

For Demo I miss the old Imp Gang boss it made Demo AOE fun and Dynamic. Demo AOE is so much duller with the current Imp Gang boss being a shell of its former self.
Yeah. I kind of like the aoe passives. One of the only specs you don’t have to choose between spells just because of aoe
The fact blizz are slowing going back on the core economy, I feel that the spec needs a full rework at this point. Its in such a bizarre place right now. M+ it is good but raiding..... Having to ignore mechanics to pad damage with aoe to be close to anyone. As you said, it being awful to do tyrant set ups. Currently it either needs pets to last longer from initial spawning or it needs more instant cast spells. Its just going to fall as the game gets more and more movement heavy. Feels like a spec that would of been great 3/4 expansions ago for raiding.
Unpopular opinion. But they need to remove the haste on touch of rankora. Having a cast be less than a global feels awwwwful and adds 0 damage (edit: for demo I mean, feels great for destro)

The build up for a good tyrant is always the part of this spec that bothers me a bit. Getting disrupted at all during the deploy all of the things and then tyrant in mythic plus is just punishing. Basically in mythic plus if you can drag a bunch of imps from a previous pack it isn't as bad but from nothing it is a bit cumbersome.

Wish cast time of dogs and vilefiend was shorter you need so much hast to lower. For me now 1.7 sec and just to long think 1.5 or 1.4 is beter and tyrant need be instant cast.

until blizzard hires a real designer focusing on warlock, this class will always be a subprime and alternative for mage.
also, the playstyle of demon is like affliction somehow. one is using tyrant to extend all mobs, the other is using dark glare to extend all dots.

@kalamazi outside of the fact that demo is still a clunky spec to play cause of lack of mobility, missing tyrant casts cause of mechanics etc, the lack of utility needs to be addressed as well. Warlock brings nothing to the table that makes anyone go oh yeh need a lock in my key (raiding is a lil different but not that much). Doesnt have group utility, slow brez when not talented, no lust, curses are ST only instead of mass, pets have to be summoned after keys are put in, pet utility between specs makes demo suffer, aff can apply curses with vial taint yet demo pets dont apply any curses. Aoe ramp is the slowest of the 3 specs. Fel domination isn't basline passive. Portal should be able to be used by a warlock alone. Warlock is the only spec that realisrically didnt have a rework going into TWW. It had a small tune/tune up but nothing fundamentally different.
I really hate implosion, god I wish it was a duel talent and get demon wrath back (pulsing AoE around your demon you could channel while moving, with a shard proc on dmg) like we had in legion, it would be nice with a proper aoe instead of implosion, and would also hit that sustain over burst as implosion give. any thoughts?
I very much dislike demonology. Whenever it's the strongest, I just stop playing warlock all together, and yet it seems like it's most often the strongest. I suppose that's why they say "get me out of Demonology prison".
I'm the other way around. I love demo! I just wish tyrat wasn't so picky
idk if it's just me, but demo just doesnt feel satisfying to play at all. Like none of ur buttons feel like really fun to press 😭😭 destro on the other hand.... tons of fun idk

I can confirm that Umbral Blaze does absolutely nothing. It's like 1m damage over the course of a 3 minute fight. Absolutely useless, pointless talent.
