Thank you. Not many teachers acknowledge the parents taking on a teaching role muchless take the time to ensure parents are aware and up to date on what the child should have mastered minimum.
Instead some do it for formality with no info and just respond with "it's okays, later, no worries" with no intention to truly help, guide and or update.
I am a father of a 1st grader and since daycare I've said " Teachers are not babysitters. They have worked hard for many years to help you get to the next level. We owe them much respect"
    Thank you

Thank you! I am homeschooling my granddaughter and just wanted to be sure we had covered the most important schoolwork before September and second grade.

Do you have a list of the 120 words that you can share? I'm a homeschooling momma and just want a one up. Thanks!

Did you try moonpreneurs - great for 7 to 15 year olds. For third graders it could be a perfect start. They offer free trial program for their trial class.

This video made me feel SO much better! I have been doing Kinderdoodle with my son since august of last year and it goes though everything with workbooks and is very hands on. I was nervous about spelling and I think I have been expecting too much. We supplement with education.com and listen to awnies house on UA-cam. Our local library had a pick up to grab books and fun activities for crafts at home. He is not in love with writing, but can do it and your tips will really be fun to add. I was glad that he missed that drama and just got to bound with his sister. I see him teach her often too and she want to learn like him! The year was not easy, but the kids never had to wear masks and spent lots of time in the yard. They got to do science experiments together and be close to us. I think in all the bad ... we got to talk about some Big Value topics too. We read together the Susan Wise books and we were blessed to talk about so many topics and questions together. I think it made it possible to slow down and make time for those questions. I can not imagine how hard it was for moms who did not have the ability to be home with their kids and how much anxiety that was for both the kids and moms. My sons kindergarten teacher was such a wonderful women last year too. I am glad that we did homeschool, because zoom really creeps me out. I do not want my kids video taped and so on. I like them having privacy. I notice that they do spell in Minecraft so that is neat. I never really wanted my kids to do video games so early, but I do see some benefits in them wanting to be able to spell and so on. One thing I would add to the list is geography. I think knowing comfortably what north, east, west and south is -- is such a good thing. And I noticed that physically written the numbers 1-128 helps parents see if they are writing the numbers the correct direction. And to practice the tradition between the tens, twenties and so on smoothly. I bet your students will be excited to see you. Thanks for making a wonderful video. ;)

I loved your video! It helped me but more importantly my 6 year old more than words can say. Could you tell me what a 2rd grader learns as I prepare him for the next phase. Please be specific, I will follow your suggestions to the letter.

Although I just graduated, I cant wait to become a parent! When my children finish 1st grade, I'll remember the knowledge that you've blessed me with so that my children can succeed, flourish, conquer and BE PREPARED for the 2nd grade. When my child achieves the A honor roll for the 2nd grade I'll think of you and your kindness. Thank you so much, god bless you ❤

My little boy has problem reading books even though he managed to graduate from pre-school. The trainer sensed concerns that he might be able to enroll grade and advised to hold him back. But I didn’t stop trying right until I discovered this particular *4ChildrenReading. Com* a reading guidebook. His own reading abilities are excellent for the 1st grade student and also his development definitely surprised the trainer. She also stated the story to other people.

Miss Bowen , I have a six year old grandson ...he loves math but he doesn't have any homework because he gets all of his done .. I don't know why but everyday he keeps bringing me his laptop asking me to show him fractions I don't even know these myself ...so it's hard for me to teach him. He makes perfect grade's but he's wanting more only it's to much for me to comprehend...what should I do.

For yourself and your grandson, you can both look at khanacademy.com. They have a lot of videos and instruction, broken up by topic and grade. They really break things down so that you understand not just the motions and how to get the answer, but WHY that's the answer. Learning together is a really great idea.
