Skye Boat Song - Scottish Traditional (Double-Strung Harp Cover 432hz)

- This traditional Scottish tune arouses in me such nostalgic feelings. I've always been drawn to period dramas taking place in old England, Scotland and Ireland. Perhaps I've had past lives in those ancient lands and somehow there is still a bit of emotional connection. I really hope to visit these countries someday, when the time is right and with the right travel companion of course 😊
I would like to dedicate this song to Brook Boddie who passed away recently. He has told me many times how amazed he is at the sweet tonal quality of my double strung Ena harp, and was really hoping to get one himself. Brook, this one is for you. Although you are not here in the physical to listen to this song, I know that where you are at, you can still hear the music and know that we are thinking of you. My deepest gratitude to you for being such an inspiration and tremendous encouragement to us all. Your kindness and generosity will forever live in our hearts. Love never dies . . .
*This video was shot in the beautiful woods near Ascension Rock on Mount Shasta .

P.S. All my harps are tuned to A=432hz to be more in harmony with the natural healing vibration of nature. For more information on the benefits of 432hz tuning, check out this short article: powerthoughtsme...

Anne Crosby Gaudet Thank you so much for always being so encouraging and positive 💞!
I have just recently started listening to your videos and find them all to be very relaxing and beautiful. Especially this particular melody. It is one of my favorites (maybe that's due to my Scottish heritage) . I also took advantage of your link to the article regarding 432hz tuning and found it very interesting. I'm a retired music teacher and am always interested in anything that has to do with music. I am enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, this was lovely! I have been considering one of the little Stoney End double strungs and am having a hard time deciding! Do you mind my asking what made you end up going with the Ena? I know for me personally, I like having some lower notes for richness and versatility.
Thank you for your comment! I went with Ena because I really like its warm and tender tonal quality, which is what I prefer over sharp, bright tones. It sounds very soothing and good for therapy purpose. Having said that, I do often wish that it has more lower notes, at least going down to C below middle C would be nice.
@@TracieLin Thanks for your reply 💜 I love the Ena!
De São Paulo, Brasil. Muito lindo. Parabéns!
jose francisco vannucchi Thank you very much for listening 🥰!
Tracie, since getting so into harps by discovering the Harp Twins about 6 months ago, I've made the decision that the correct number of harps is 6 ! 3 for the left channel and 3 for the right. I've also decided that the concert grand harp is the best sounding one - but that doesn't mean to say all 6 should be those. Do you know 5 other harpists ? :)
I don't think I understand your question clearly. Are you asking if I know any other harpist?
@@TracieLin Well, yes - have you tried getting together with others ?
I imagine it'd be just like getting a bunch of photographers together no one would agree on anything with anyone else :) All because there is too much personal preference !
My own preference for photography is taking pictures in the dark !
@@millomweb I would love to do duets or ensemble with other harpists. A long time ago when I first started learning, my harp teacher had a harp ensemble and I was lucky to be part of it. It was quite enjoyable!
@@TracieLin I guess you've not been in touch with the Harp twins !
STTNG drew from this for "The Inner Light".
Mike Bugal I am a big fan of Star Trek - The Next Generation, and “The Inner Light” episode was one of the most touching and memorable. The flute solo definitely resembles this tune. Thank you for your comment.
@@TracieLin In the Season 6 episode 19 "Lessons" when asked about it says "It's an old folk tune.".
@@TracieLin I've downloaded several of your videos here to use in my personal relaxation/meditation time.
.
Mike Bugal I’m so glad my music is helping you to relax. Blessings to you!
hi! what type of harp are you playing? I'm interested in buying something similar
Selencia Saladier The harp I’m playing is a Stoney End double-strung lap harp called “Ena”. It has double rows of 22 strings with range F-F. Good luck!
This is so pretty and that looks like a little girl playing! I want whatever your vitamins are!
Smilingharp Haha, it’s the illusion of a wide shot and the babydoll shirt! It was so beautiful out in the woods that perhaps fairies were out there singing along 🧚♀️🦋.
