sorry about my English ok cuz I'm not from a English speaking country
I took over 70% of EU as the third reich in hearts of iron, In over 6 hours. I first played rise of evil then wehrmacht.
This army was undoubtedly one of the strongest in the entire history. Tanks, infantry, sea and air. Everywhere they stood out. Fighting multiple nations at ones. Being outnumbered in most cases. Yet they fought and still came out victorious. Would they have fought for a better cause, they would be honored till the last day of humanity.
My grandfather fought in it. And I honor him.
In every army are assholes in every army are heroes. The Wehrmacht is no different.

@Kommentator To say that Germany fought just to defend itself, and that Poland did anything to provoke the war is enough statement to show how little you understood the war. And since when the concepts of family, faith and nation defined humanity? They're excuses for wars, but a measly flag, or faith in something always unproved, or loyalty towards people who by random chance raised you aren't concepts worthy of fighting and dyng for.
@Kommentator Germany lost Ww1, thus it lost territories, end of the story. To reclaim the lost territories was in itself an act of war, that was imperialism, not the legitimate reaction of Poland, that only wanted to defend its own land. Why would they want revenge? Germany was the nation that blamed everyone and everything but itself for its own mistakes.
Dyng for the interests of plutocrats isn't worthy either, but to claim that we as humans still need old concepts to define us is simply foolish. We have laws, we have rights: those are the things that define us now, otherwise we will make the same mistakes that we made countless times in the past. If rejecting the concepts of family, faith and nations saves millions of lives, it's definitely worth to be childish.

Mein uhropa war Feldwebel in der Wehrmacht. Er war kein Nazi er kämpfte für das was er liebte seine Frau und Heimat das wollte er nicht verlieren. Aber was ich eigentlich sagen wollte mein Opa war bekannt dafür das er ein verdammt strenger und Arschloch war als Feldwebel trotzdem. Dank seiner Art hatten viele Soldaten Mut er war eben typisch vom Bau XD er war Polier auf dem Bau vor dem Krieg wurde aber sehr Respektiert trotz seiner Art! Und trotzdem ist mein Opa mein Held für mich

In Finland, the Military Police are often referred to as "Porttikoira" or "Gatehound" in English.
It took me a while to realise a lot of the terms Still in use in the army today are war time remnants that stood with time. Not that im complaining though, "Kettenhunde" is a pretty based term.
Kettenhunde is a very brutal and strict name for a Military Police. Good choice.

This song is SO true... In every way. A crazy madman off his leash. Young men, both a victims of the time, and some who had simply just lost their way. Also the victims of a crime, not just the time... And if it wasn't for the big war, AssHitler would still have never made it much further than some loudmouth yelling in beer halls... Or rather 'that' treaty... I hate that one. SO unfair in which I do not need to go into detail about, as so many countries still wanted revenge after getting the shit end of the stick... @Kommentator I do have to agree with your premise. I am not saying Every citizen was just entirely mind controlled and snapped out of it after. He had A LOT of support. The nation was going bankrupt at the time hence so many followers chasing a dream of becoming great again. But the top brass did some really effed up stuff behind the scenes. A lot were of the mindset of if you can't beat em join em too. It is so complex.

Wehrmacht soldiers did not face execution for disobeying criminal orders. The fought for nazism and committed unspeakable acts of cruelty and crimes against humanity.

The SS fought for nazism (They were all members of the party) the Wehrmacht was a regular army completly on meth (pervertin) there were parts in the Wehrmacht who were part of the resistance Generals of the Okw (Ober Kommando West) who tried to fight Hitler and supported the resistance got captured and executed in 1943.

Different books, historical articles by academic historians and lectures by professional historians that I am more happy to refer to and show you. Even wikipedia which is not a primary nor a secondary source has very well written articles on this subject.
The fact is that, yes of course deserters in many cases were shot. However there is no single documented case of any German soldiers getting shot for simply disobeying an order to murder a civilians. None at all.

All german soldiers fought for nazism. The "regular army" were created for and fought actively for Hitlers aims. Remember that the German cause in world war 2 was to fight international judaism and to create lebensraum in the eastern territories for Germans.
The majority of German generals were anti-semites that were loyal to Hitler. The July plot was in 1944, when the western allies had invaded Normandy and the entire army group center was annihilated in Belarus.
The cooperation between the Wehrmacht and the SS was intimate, and the Wehrmacht provided the Einzatsgruppen with ammunition and supplies, as well as personell in many cases. The Wehrmacht pretty much commanded the SS units at least in the first few years.
Remember that the vast majority of German soldiers fought until 8.May 1945. The day Germany surrendered.
Many German soldiers from the Heer also approved of Hitlers rule late in the war. In a survey done on Austrian prisoners of war after the war, a large part stated that the war was against the struggle against international Judaism.
The crimes of all branches of the Heer were large in scale and many in sheer numbers.
I can start mentioning them if you want.
Remember that the war in the east was fought based on criminal orders, which were for the most part followed.
Using civilians as human shields, bombing civilian targets from the air, mass executions, sex slavery, rapes to mention a few was common behaviour among the German soldiers both with and without orders.

1944 was the Stauffenberg Attentat (July plot ) 1943 a lot of high ranking generals of the Wehrmacht got imprisoned for treason over 1000 persons of military, worker party and even civillians were involved.
German military courts gave over 30 thousand death sentences to desserteurs / spys / traitors
The nazis changed the law for treason in 1934. Everything was treason after that if you talked bad about Hitler you got a death sentence for treason if you refused to carry out orders you got sentenced and killed for treason there was no difference anymore.
Yes there is no documented case of a person who got sentenced to death for not murdering civilians there you are right alltho im pretty sure if they got sentenced for treason nobody would know about it

I talked to a few peoples who lived in ww2 my grand grandfather was forced to fight in the Wehrmacht and he told me they had no idea what they do with the peoples in the camps they got told that there are only criminals in there who got resosialiced he said there were roumors but nobody knew for sure its also what the other peoples who were all in the Wehrmacht told me

That 30 000 was executed for different reasons does not cover refusing to murder civilians.
According to German military law from the Imperial era soldiers had the legal right to refuse criminal orders. So according to law it was not legal to execute anyone on that ground.
It is documented by the historian Claus Bundgård Christensen in his book about the Waffen SS that the enforcements of laws in the Wehrmacht were often more draconian than the Waffen SS in many cases.
The historian Sonke Neitzel and other historians have documented extensively the attitudes of the German Wehrmacht and it is clear that many willingly participated in crimes.

That is not really neccessarry for them to be. It is documented that many of them were extremely brutalized and willingly commited crimes.

This is not true. It was reported in international newspapers about nazi concentration camps already in march 1933, pretty much around the time they first appeared.
During the war also Luftwaffe personell acted as camp guards, and also luftwaffe personell conducted human experiments on prisoners of war.
Atrocities happened all over the place, especially on the eastern front. It is almost impossible that the regular soldiers did not know about it, as they witnessed it first hand.
It was definitely not only certain SS units that took part in the Holocaust and other mass murders during the war.

Das ist eine MP38 welches der Vorgänger der MP40 ist, in diesem Bild ist der Klappbügel ausgeklappt, deswegen wirkt die Waffe größer.

@frog enjoyer what era are you living in? we have free speech now, we can argue against what the government says, and we have firm evidence that the Soviets were literally stronger than the Allies in the war, they inflicted about 70-80% of all casualties against the Germans in the war. Just google if the facts you know are true, and you'll find that the Soviets did not employ these mythical tactics made up by the Wehrmacht officers.

The Russians lost 8 million to 6 million Germans. and then the Germans ceased to count their losses at the end of the war. Our fights were no worse than the Germans. There were all rifles and ammunition and anti-tank rifles, planes, tanks, howitzers, Katyushas, a gun pulimeta. Moreover there were numerous captured weapons. And our leadership commanded better than in Germany. the only thing that we could not properly resist the blitzkrieg and for this we suffered great losses at the beginning of the war.

Ich bin keiner von diesen auf UA-cam nach Geld gierender Typen, die versuchen aus jeder möglichen Quelle Kapital zu schöpfen.
Ich mache die Dinge auf meinem UA-cam-Kanal, um anderen Menschen Freude beim schauen von Videos zu machen. Mein Geld zum Leben und für diese und andere "Freizeitbeschäftigungen" verdiene ich mir mit harter Arbeit, wie es sich für einen "normalen" Menschen gehört.
