Today is huge. Remote Designs is the culmination of the community we have built on this channel. Without you all I never would've dreamed to launch a dry bag that has helped me explore. I've put this backpack through the ringer for several months and it's passed every test, proving durability and longevity. Kayak camping is awesome, but so is having dry outdoor gear.

I just bought one. I really like the attachment points (will most likely add some bungee cord for webbing), the 1680D TPU (didnt even know what that material was until I started looking at packrafts), waistbelt, and size. I also like doing photography but get alittle nervous if going on a long hike with possible storms. I recently had issues with a folding dry bag (20L idrybag - folded 4 times) that let water in after being partially submersed while kaying in rapids that swamped my kayak. Gatewood - I would be curious to see how you pad your bag with your photography gear - Thanks for designing the cool bag!
Thank you KZ! Your support means everything and I'm super stoked to see what all you can get into with the bag. I put a lot of time into determining the materials to ensure it's a pack that'll last you a long time. Regarding the photo equipment, I generally don't add padding as it takes up room. I'm definitely rough on my equipment but it's all designed to take a beating. I say that now until I pull a broken camera out of the bag...
Ordered mine yesterday and it’s already on its way ! I do a lot of fishing down here in Florida and the rain moves in quick. Getting wet is just a fact of life down here. Been looking for the right bag for a while now. Your bag is exactly what I was looking for. Great channel ! Keep it up !

Man, can't believe your discontinuing these packs! My husband & asked me to order another backpack & another hip pack. We bought out first set about a month ago when you had your discount time on them. There are no words for the quality of these packs. We are yakers & hikers so the packs are get wet or they are in the full sun with the heat on the trail. Fantastic! Not one problem not one regret spending this much because they will last our outdoor life time. Just wished you had the same discount on them 😁

Ordered mine. One of biggest pains of kayaking trips this summer has been juggling lots of small bags. Me and my son are going to do some kayak camping this fall. I think this’ll be a good piece of kit. Well done!
I hear ya there. As I’ve become more gear savvy my bag size has increased. I’m now essentially to two, maybe three bags max. But they’re all bigger in size

I’m so happy I got it before it sold out. It’s such a great backpack. I was on the RD website looking for instructions on how to care/ maintain my backpack and I couldn’t find it anywhere so I came here. Just ordered mines! I'm a petite person only about 5' and almost 100 lbs. Hopefully it's not too big on me but still excited to use it on my next kayaking & snowboarding trip and even on road trips. I know this business is new but it would be amazing to see these backpacks on a few women to get an idea on how it fits! Thanks for all the content! Bought mine! I had multiple cruises refunded to me this year due to Covid. I took that money and bought an Atoll iSup and a dry bag is a must! I cannot wait to receive this bag and it matches my army green board!!!

Have you considered opening up your trips to small groups of people? Maybe even charging a fee for doing all the route planning and such. I have been trying to do more river camping on my paddle board in texas.

@@GatewoodBrown I have been paddleboarding in a decent amount of the lakes nearby, but I have only been camping on the river with it once. We went to lower mountain fork river just south of broken bow lake. It was a nice river, I would definitely go back.

Im tented to buy this backpack now but what worries a little is that in any review they have views or pictures of the interior of the bag. Thats odd when reviewing a backpack. And i havent been able to find any information or looks of the interior before buying. I do travel with a lapotp for editing on the run and because i work IT so i need to connect and work on a call. So if anytone have a looks on the interior to see if it will be save to put a laptop inside like the pocket other brands have.

It’s retired for good! The roll top backpack will be our main backpack for the next several years but I’m considering designing up another backpack with a zipper or similar closure

Well covid 19 screwed me from getting my arm ( neck) operated on for my arm . VA's been down .
Well I got it done can't lift but 5 pounds for 30 days and over 10 pounds for the next 60 days ,
so my trips this year had to go on hold . I have two dry bags 120 liter and a 100 liter dry duffel / backpack .
But that pack looks awesome and much easier to get just what you need out , camera GPS drone ect.
Most of my water in the boat is paddle drip and wet feet . My canoes don't get as much rough water as
you see but this coming spring I hope to change that lol . Great video as always my friend . I hope to get
out on the water this coming spring .
Dang Spencer that is some tough luck. I hope things start looking up soon. I do really enjoy this size of dry bag. 20L, 28L backpack and 50L duffel have been great sizes for me
@@GatewoodBrown Gatewood I got my liters mixed up I have two 60 liter 120 together and my duffel is 80 it's the biggest one I could find . But I use a canoe and can carry a lot .

I am a sup guy here mostly flat water. But if i pick up another kayak that Ascend looks pretty sweet with plenty of storage space with easy access and the plus is the beach \camp chair indeed.

Although similar there are quite a few differences. The yeti is an awesome dry bag so there’s plenty to look up to. Additional pockets, different materials, zippers and dimensions for the remote designs.

@@GatewoodBrown Cool, if you are looking for any inspiration. My dream would be a big backpack like this, 60L+ with a comfy harness designed to handle weight. The true cherry for me and probably a lot of other portages would be hefty padding on top of the shoulders so that when we are carrying a boat we don't need a yoke pad. My dream when portaging would be to have a single bag I just sling over my back, then lift the boat and be on my way. It would be perfect if the pad is designed in a way that it helps with a canoe carry (yoke) or a side shoulder carry of a kayak.
Terminal Velocity yes! I like that idea a lot. Even we don’t portages much down here, I appreciate good comfortable backpack features to carry the packs down to launch and from take outs. NRS has a good roll top dry bag that fits that description but it would be nice to have a zippered version. You guys are tough up in the north woods! Portaging is no joke
@@GatewoodBrown haha im jealous that you don't have to portage much. Up here in Ontario Canada almost all options involve some portaging, whether it is from lake to lake in lake country or around some crazy waterfall that is unrunnable. I'd love to get down south at some point here and just go for a fun paddle down a river where all rapids are runnable so the boat never is on my shoulders. ;)
Also, which bag are you referring to by NRS? The 110L Bill's bag is certainly big, but it has a really poor harness (common on these big dry bags)
Not to mention you have to watch out for bears during your portage! Yeah each place has its drawbacks. We often don’t have enough water for food flows but our paddling season is very long. Funny enough, summer is the worst time to go lol. I’ve been talking to a buddy that’s done the boundary waters and I’d love to get up there some day

Hey gate wood I was wondering how does the zipper seal at the end of it? It looks like it’s completely waterproof and can be submerged completely right? Have you had any type of failures yet? Thanks for any info
Great question! It’s similar to the soft coolers around. It’ll seal tight so as to not let the elements in. We have noticed all heavy kayak splashing and quick submersions to be watertight. I went above and beyond with a long term 20 minute submersion test and found the zippers to hold tight. The only moisture we noticed was some saturation in the seams but it wasn’t even enough to form droplets. Your gear would’ve been safe during this test. (It took 60lbs to hold it under)

Steve Story anytime! My goal is to be upfront and honest. It’s done great during all the practical uses. Submersions have done well with the expected results. Blue effigy did an unbiased review/submersion test so I’d you’re interested in a second opinion be sure to check it out

Will this design ever come back? I see the roll top is up and coming on the website but I’m not big on roll top bags. This design is chefs kiss though 🤌🏼
Retired forever! I’m in the process of redesigning a zippered dry backpack for 2024 release so no worries if the roll top isn’t your style. I too prefer the zipper but roll tops are great for keeping the price where the precious backpack was. Plus it is expandable by nature for varying load sizes!
Is it submersible? Looks awesome either way I want one!!!
I don’t often advertise it as submersible but I’ve submersed it a lot with no water penetration haha.

Wonderful! Yeah we’ve had them tossed around in all sorts of capsizing events, always stay completely dry. Restock should be this month

Thinking of buying. Never used this type of bag before. Currently I just have a dry bag inside of my camelback pack and unzip the camelback and open the dry bag any time I need to use something in there while paddling. Curious because you mentioned the zipper in the video. Is it easy enough to zip and unzip the bag? Like it could easily be done while in my yak?
Hey Sam! It’s about as easy as you’d want a waterproof zipper to be. It definitely requires some force but it’s not too much so as to slow down accessing the contents. I routinely open it in my yak

You’d have better luck attaching the water bottle via carabiner (that’s what I do). The pocket is more rigid than most and is intended for max durability. Most dry bags don’t have exterior open pockets but I at least wanted some semblance of once.

Great question! I have them all in my guest bedroom haha. So as soon as you order, I’ll get it packed up and sent out the next day. There are standard and expedited 2 day options available at checkout.
