I completely agree and these countries are producing some of the best material in the game right now but for these two specifically it’s hard because they can’t go to these countries fashion weeks. That’s why they don’t cover brands from the other fashion weeks even if they are huge.
these categories are so fun! as a casual fashion observer, this is a perfect summary of everything i missed / wouldn't find on my own. thanks for the hard work!
i’m very glad Daniella corrected you about the ERD chapan, because missing that would have driven me insane. i have a big fixation of traditional dress and its uses in fashion and too often that use just gets completely glossed over in favor of pure vibes. that heavy adornment with medallions and metal plates is very common in the region and dates back at least as far back as the Scythians.
I had initially disregarded Enfants Riches Déprimés offerings a decade ago and never looked back. The brand has seen an incredible amount of growth since its inception. They have had an incredible year, and I look forward to seeing the brand evolve.
Wow stunning fashion - by the presenter as well as the models. The introductory piece best colour palette is out of this world - fresh, creative and been tired of fashion shows they all look so similar, this is so unique... just wow.
Enfants Riches Deprimes lately seems to be head and tails above many larger conglomerate brands, their shows hit me emotionally. Hope they stay independent.
I always look forward to your guys' videos! You're the people I'd lose my friends for in the smoking area at a uni party. After spending 3 hours discussing the meaning behind Miyake's hems... ❤
Hunter Schafer wore the Schiaparelli fall 24 look 10 for W magazine. It was my favourite look from the collection. Absolutely stunning dress. Loved the movement of it
thanks you guys - I haven't been too impressed with fashion since pre 2020, I paid mild attention to some shows recently, but I was glad I watched this, it ignited an old spark in me
Love the Bliss Foster awards! The way you guys talk about runway shows with such depth, yet while staying approachable and sincere. Your passion is infectious! Tres bien et merci!
Omg - THANK YOU FOR THIS I never leave a comment but this is by far the best recap I’ve seen You guys are the best ,keep making this A list kind of content
I’ve only subscribed recently and I absolutely adore your videos. I’m not into fashion but I love listening to you talk about something you clearly love and that makes you so happy and passionate. It’s really fun, thank you for taking the time to post it.
i am such a fan. you helped me take fashion more seriously growing up lesser privileged i never thought about my clothes cause “i didn’t care” but in reality there was just no money to explore. now i love fashion i just got over my sunglasses phase and have a whole collection now. next i hope to buy good quality basics (i know weird order to start with glasses but i want to loose weight first to buy quality stylish clothes). i am the type to never throw away clothes. i literally wear it until it is a peace of cloth so it might take a while my clothes from my late teens disappear from my closet 😂 i bought all the books you recommended and i am reading them all. hope to be 1% as knowledgeable as you areone day.😅🎉❤
The winner of Knift category is giving me literal migraines... It doesn't seem to have interlining... Yet as far as crochet pattern.. Like... HOWWWW???
I've been a long time viewer and I'm commenting this from a place of sincerity: It would be amazing to see you guys talk more about designers not just from the western world, but from the global south/ east. There is a whole different level of textile making, approach to design that happens here. I understand cultural limitations you might have or a lack of access to shows in those regions/ from those designers. But in this video and some past review ones, I felt that you guys weren't looking beyond the same 10-15 names mostly from the european scene. Maybe ypu could approach this by way of collaboration with international content creators or fashion writers maybe? I feel like at this point in time, fashion needs to get more and more decolonised, we need people to look at non-western countries beyond their labour value. I only bring this up here since you guys are an influential figure in the fashion content scene, and so very accessible (which i am always grateful for)
great idea. i'm one of those guys who often won't watch a particular sport during the regular season, like baseball. But I'll watch the World Series. This is a bit like that helpful to see the categories you divided fashion into, think it would help in looking at fashion in general to look at particular elements/categories so the looks as wholes don't overwhelm, appreciated seeing how you categorized Bliss's look here from the waist up reminded me of James Taylor's look on his first album, 1968 "James Taylor"
you started talking about trees just as i'm gazing at some myself, thinking about how beautiful trees are. and yes how lucky we are as humans to be able to express such raw emotion with each other and share it. this video was amazing, as all of y'alls videos are, thank you so much for sharing. ERD is incredible, as is margiela! loving a lot of the Alaia stuff as well, and jill sander!!
This video was SO much fun!! Fantastic recap, and fun to just guess which of the nominees that would win! If you do one next year, maybe the Patreon vote on your nominations to see if the community agrees with you?🙌🏻 Much love🫶🏻
I thought they only specialized in hand made embroidery. But I didn’t know they manufacture tweeds as well. It’s good to learn something new every day. That’s why I love fashion Thank you for all the work you do
Loved this!!!. Can u cover haute couture from other countries too?? I know this was a lot of work and it was amazing. It would ve amazing if u covered some collections from all the other countries in the upcoming videos:)
among the couture looks i saw a red dress that I thought looked like it had red flies flying around it. think the dress should have a little speaker inside that plays a moving-around-buzzing sound like the sound of flies flying around it could be interesting if they were supposed to be red moths and the dress were wool. as though we hate moths cuz they eat wool and yet could be seen as beautiful when they're flying around the dress
I’ll go make some Twillys from old silk scarfs RIGHT NOW. (The Hermes ones are usually about 33“ by 5“, all you’ll need is some french rolled hem skills)
Next season I’ll happily make a spreadsheet with SEO so that you can refine the search by category with photos 😂 I already watch all the shows. Give me a full list so I don’t miss any and I’ll give you the spreadsheet
the chopsticks in the hair got me thinking about fashion using food ideas, forks, spoons, knives. plastic like plastic milk containers. but plastic not too popular in fashion?
@@BlissFoster No, that's exactly what I meant! Thom Browne, that's it, that's the entry to "great idea" category...no other explanation needed lol (sorry for the confusion!)
Alessandro's 'triumphant' return and Hedi's best two women's collections of his entire career this year and not a single mention in any category lol This was a great format for a video and clearly a hell of a lot of work 👏
was wondering why u chose the pink dress instead of 59:58 but glad the dress i like had a win in total with the show over not winning anything at all 🤗

All good, I truly appreciate the support. Message me on Instagram and we will see if we can figure out how to get you on there. I’m guessing your country won’t let you join, there may be a workaround we can find. 💫💫
we need more conversations on international haute couture/brands. West Africa, North Africa, India and Japan are changing the game!!!!

That’s awesome to hear 😌
Love this idea of highlighting some of the coolest things from the past year. Hope you do another this time 2025!
Agreed! It was so good. Thanks to you both for all of your hard work!
the amount of research and processing that has gone into this video 🤯 also the fact u both have opinions and share them... not many have the courage 👏
is it a chopstick or a hair pin
That Maison Margiela show is what got me into fashion & helped me find you! It was incredible.
That’s great to hear! We have a…very big project involving that show coming soon 🤫
wow just discovered Standing Ground through this video. Beautiful dresses!
best and most discerning presenter for fashion award goes to Bliss Foster,
What a magical, unpretentious, and cozy way to wrap up 2024! Love your videos so much. Thanks, you two!

the whole shoulder category is fire
Strong agree. It was mega hard to choose for that category.
